The WE Knives Blitz: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Oct 14, 2017
Today, we're going to take a look at a brand new knife from WE knives, which is mostly notable for what isn't included: This is WE's first time using good fasteners and a real name. Although the knife itself has some issues due to over-aggressive texturing and a price that's a bit uninspiring, it's still a nice sign of progress from WE knives, and hopefully a great indicator of what's to come.

How to disassemble and maintain the Spyderco Cat Pocketknife
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Oct 26, 2017
Today, a simple disassembly, complicated vastly by a piece of G10 invading the clip post hole. But, with a bit of creative editing, and a good old Soviet joke, we triumph.

Also, note that Spyderco has now changed their warranty policy so that disassembly is A-OK and Red-Loctite is banished. For more information: https://youtu.be/Ed0kzmsz0Qs

Also, this is not Taichung, this is a different factory. This was filmed a long time ago :)

The Benchmade 484-1 Nakamura Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Oct 27, 2017
Today, we review one of the greatest knives that I can't recommend, the Benchmade 484-1 Nakamura. It's a very nice small EDC option, with a great blade, great materials, good ergonomics, and a decent little bit of style. Unfortunately, though, it's got Benchmade's Quality Control issues, and the pricing on it is completely out of touch with reality.

So, if you can get a good one at the (much better) secondary market prices. you absolutely should, and you might consider the vanilla 484, which is priced a bit more reasonably. But at the retail price, there's no way in heck the 484-1 is finding its way into my pocket.

Today, we're in for a pleasant, slightly disappointing surprise, as the Elk Force knife sent this month is actually way less terrible than usual. So, I had to break open the Nick Shabazz Strategic Terrible Knife Reserve to find something which shines brightly in its awfulness. Then, finally, a Snick Preview of the Millit Torrent in Damasteel, which is decidedly not terrible.

Nick's Completely Unprepared and Unscripted review of the Kizer Guru
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Nov 17, 2017
Today, I try something different. In my "Behind the Gems" video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBKMh...), I mentioned that my reviews are written ahead of time, and that I film over many takes. People have questioned why I bother with all that work.

Well, to show why, today, I'm going to do an off-the-cuff review of the Kizer Guru. A knife I've carried enough to review, but haven't even started to think about reviewing. The end result is a bit better than I thought, but doesn't mention the price at all, and feels terribly unorganized. Tomorrow, you'll get the real, fully-prepared review.

For now, what differences did you notice?

I bought wife unit some Wusthof and Zwilling German knives for Christmas. After doing some research I avoided the Japanese made because they have a tendency to chip. The blades are thinner and harder, but more brittle. They are also lighter, but I can also get lighter German knives if necessary. She is receiving a 6", 7", 8" & 3.5" paring knife. I chose the specific lines because they only have a half bolster which makes sharpening much easier.

A few years ago a good female friend received a set of pots and pans from her husband for Christmas. She wasn't a happy camper at all. When she told me about it she was beside herself. She also got a nice ring about a week later. Her husband told her he wanted to surprise her with something on New Year's. I think she let him know she wasn't happy with pots & pans.

Laughed my ass off about it when she told me.

Wife unit wanted one very nice knife because what we have now is old box store crap. I bought her a few really nice knives. She already has a very expensive ring that she cannot wear because she is reckless and already lost it once. I wonder if she will keep all 10 fingers after Christmas?

The Todd Begg Steelcraft Kwaiken Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Nov 30, 2017
Today, we'll talk about an interesting knife by Todd Begg in collaboration with Reate Knives, the Steelcraft Kwaiken. It's nice, and a bit more subdued than some Begg designs, but it's still a bit huge, a bit crazy, with a few nasty bits of ugly and a price-tag that puts it up against some of the best in the business. Whether it can win really depends more on your taste than anything.

The Todd Begg Steelcraft Field Marshal Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
    Nick Shabazz

    Published on Dec 2, 2017
Today, we look at a very ornate, very large folder produced by Todd Begg in collaboration with Reate Knives. The Field Marshal is very nice, very well built, with a great action and some good details. But it's also huge, expensive, not a great slicer, and poorly built for maintenance.

So, although it's gonna be a spectacular knife for some, many more will Begg to differ.

We showed off the amazingly cheap but well made knives offered by gearbest.com in an earlier. unsponsored video - it must have worked well for that site as they now offered us sponsorship.

They sent is eight folding knives we picked, and then we went ahead and build what probably is the world's first folding knife jousting machine...

A machine that can clash blade against blade so hard even the best folders in the world will suffer. Watch how the products (all of them under 16 € end user price) fare against this most brutal machine.

The semi finals are planned for Dec. 6th, 2017, and the finals will be on the 10th of Dec., 2017. Stay tuned, and leave us your best bet in the comments!

    A "The Slingshot Channel" production.
