Blue jay is my mothers favorite bird by far. That hummer sure is beating. I don't got no squirrels close to me anymore. Unless you count Richardson's ground squirrel which we call a gopher, then I have millions.LOL

Search, I went on a drive about yesterday just to see my country[put on 457 miles] and sure thought of you and this thread. Fully 50% of our ground is yellow with all the canola planted. It is hard[nay, impossible] to show the true colors in photo's as they change with the direction of the sun. Just a cloud obscuring the sun makes the colors look so different. The clouds themselves have a lot of different colors.

Then I found where some of the guys on this form have been.:angry then happy:

Then I found a sign that maybe explains me.

Also had some more black and whites.

And below my window where I chat with you is some grey and white.

I ain't starting a new thread so we will just call this grey/black/white.:finished:
This morning I was just headed out the door to go spraying when the phone rang. Was the neighbor lady from 2 miles East and she were some excited. Seems there was a fire going outta control in their yard and headed for the new shop. I'm coming I yelled and ran out screaming at the boys as I went. Fired up the old KW and started backing outta the yard while holding the air brakes controller until it built up enough air so i didn't need too. Took off down the road and found out right away my governor works well in all the gears I hit. Pulled into their yard and Todd
    [IMG]
came flying at the truck to attack.:fighting: Stupid bird. I pulled to a stop as close the fire as possible and the boys had the hose from the trailer pump hooked to the truck and were adding the fire nozzle to the discharge hose too. One pull on the rope got 2,500 gallons of water headed in the right direction to slow the fire. That little blaze was no match for our water and the young couple were happier than pigs in pooh that we came. After watering down everything so he could control his burn for the day we went to see what the [L] was with Todd. Crazy bird likes to chaw on ya while you stare in wonder.

She is just a plain butter cake.

    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanialla
    1 1/2 cups flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup milk

Cream butter and add sugar gradually and mix well. Add egg yolks and beat until creamy and add vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and and add alternately with milk. Lastly fold in beaten egg whites. Put batter in a cake pan of approximately 150 square inch's. Cut enough prune plums in half removing the seeds, now place the plums in the batter on edge near touching [takes 30-40 plums].
In a shaker[cup will do] place 1/2 cup sugar and about two table spoons cinnamon that you shake over the top [I use 2/3 before baking and add the other 1/3 half way through]. Bake at 350 F for near 30 minutes and check to see if the batter is cooked through. Now enjoy the hell outta it. I like it near hot but watch out how hot as them freaking plums can burn the [L] outta your mug.

Now that I took the time to type all this out I'd expect a picture in return if you ever make this delight.

Here are a few , one my kid and I found in the Georgia foothills, an American Deset tortoise ( just gave him up to Noah's Ark as he could not survive a N Georgia winter- no telling how he made it there) and another we bought, a Russisn tortoise....not to mention the beautiful eastern boxes we find along the road ...our huge snappers ( the size of manhole covers) are eaten by the locals ....nasty creatures, ever hook one on your line?
