THE ARMY'S NEW WAY TO CRUSH RUSSIA OR CHINA IN A GROUND FIGHT || WARTHOG 2017
    Warthog Defense

    Published on Dec 10, 2017
“Our recent conflicts against less sophisticated threats allowed for more open-hatch operations. A commander would be up out of the hatch using his own senses. Operations against a near-peer using artillery, drones and other sophisticated weapons would likely be more closed-hatched operations. This technology will enable him to have more capability in closed-hatched scenarios,” Klager said.

The Army is testing emerging next-generation ground combat vehicle sensors using computer algorithms and artificial intelligence to identify, target and destroy enemy tanks, drones and incoming fire, service officials said.

WHY THE ARMY NEEDS A FUTURES COMMAND || WARTHOG 2017
    Warthog Defense

    Published on Dec 12, 2017
In May 2017, during testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee, the chief of staff of the U.S. Army warned of “a fundamental change in the character of warfare” connected to trends identified by a study by the Strategic Studies Group in 2015. Among its conclusions were that our warfighting model might be dramatically challenged by a convergence of factors, including the proliferation of low-cost sensors, precision strike technology, robotics, and information technologies that radically change how people get, manage, and use information.

In doing so it became a commercial success, exported far and wide and a legend among postwar small arms.

    US Army Training Film TF21-1018

Originally a public domain film from the Library of Congress Prelinger Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and one-pass brightness-contrast-color correction & mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearm_...
    Wikipedia license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...

Firearm maintenance is a periodic preventive maintenance procedure to ensure the proper function of a firearm. Typically firearm maintenance is performed by the owner of the firearm using simple methods such as cleaning the firearm with gun oils, and lubricating with similar oils and greases. When a firearm presents with physical damage related to the ordinary use of the firearm, or when a firearm malfunctions in a life-threatening manner a professional gunsmith should perform advanced maintenance to determine if the firearm is repairable and/or safe to shoot.

It is critically important that a firearm is free of ammunition before beginning maintenance. The National Rifle Association teaches gun owners that "before cleaning your gun, make absolutely sure that it is unloaded. The gun's action should be open during the cleaning process. Also, be sure that no ammunition is present in the cleaning area."...

    Lubrication

Firearms produce massive momentary forces upon firing a bullet. A typical 9mm projectile produces a maximum of 34,084 PSI of pressure in the instant of firing. The amount of pressure a firearm may endure for the first few milliseconds after the cartridge fires can be over 230,000% more than the normal atmospheric pressure of one atmosphere. Therefore it is important for the safety of the shooter, and the longevity of a firearm that it is properly lubricated as per the manufacturer's specifications.

When in an extreme and life-threatening situation such as preparing for combat the manufacturer's recommended lubricants may not be available to soldiers, or others who may enter these scenarios. If there is time to perform firearm maintenance before a life-threatening emergency (such as daily cleaning of a rifle in a combat zone) it may become necessary to use other sources of lubrication, as a firearm will function more properly with some lubricant than it will with none. One United States Marine Corps sergeant recounts that synthetic motor oil performed better than standard military issued lubricant in extreme conditions. However it is advisable to immediately return to the standard recommendation of the firearm manufacturer when conditions allow.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Garand

The M1 Garand (officially designated as United States Rifle, Caliber .30, M1, later simply called Rifle, Caliber .30, M1, also abbreviated as US Rifle, Cal. .30, M1) is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for the .30-06 Springfield rifle cartridge. It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle. Called "the greatest battle implement ever devised" by General George S. Patton, the Garand officially replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the standard service rifle of the United States Armed Forces in 1936 (although the switch-over wasn't instantaneous) and was subsequently replaced by the selective fire M14, starting in 1957. During World War II, the M1 gave U.S. forces a distinct advantage in firefights against their Axis enemies, as their standard-issue rifles were slower-firing bolt-action rifles. The M1 continued to be used in large numbers until 1963 and to a lesser degree until 1976. Like its predecessor, the M1 originated from the Springfield Armory.

The M1 is an air-cooled, gas-operated, clip-fed, semi-automatic, shoulder-fired weapon. This means that the air cools the barrel; that the power to cock the rifle and chamber the succeeding round comes from the expanding gas of the round fired previously; that it is loaded by inserting an en-bloc (i.e., it goes into the rifle's action and functions as part of the rifle) metal clip (containing eight rounds) into the receiver; and that the rifle fires one round each time the trigger is pulled. After the eight rounds have been shot, the empty clip automatically ejects with an audible "ping" noise.

The M1 was the standard-issue service rifle of the U.S. forces in World War II, the Korean War, and also saw service to a limited extent in the Vietnam War... It is available for American civilian ownership through the Civilian Marksmanship Program...

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF; Hebrew: צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל About this sound Tsva ha-Hagana le-Yisra'el, lit. "The Army of Defense for Israel"; Arabic: جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي‎), commonly known in Israel by the Hebrew acronym Tzahal (צה״ל), are the military forces of the State of Israel. They consist of the ground forces, air force, and navy. It is the sole military wing of the Israeli security forces, and has no civilian jurisdiction within Israel. The IDF is headed by its Chief of General Staff, the Ramatkal, subordinate to the Defense Minister of Israel; Lieutenant general (Rav Aluf) Gadi Eizenkot has served as Chief of Staff since 2015.

An order from Defense Minister David Ben-Gurion on 26 May 1948 officially set up the Israel Defense Forces as a conscript army formed out of the paramilitary group Haganah, incorporating the militant groups Irgun and Lehi. The IDF served as Israel's armed forces in all the country's major military operations—including the 1948 War of Independence, 1951–1956 Retribution operations, 1956 Sinai War, 1964–1967 War over Water, 1967 Six-Day War, 1967–1970 War of Attrition, 1968 Battle of Karameh, 1973 Operation Spring of Youth, 1973 Yom Kippur War, 1976 Operation Entebbe, 1978 Operation Litani, 1982 Lebanon War, 1982–2000 South Lebanon conflict, 1987–1993 First Intifada, 2000–2005 Second Intifada, 2002 Operation Defensive Shield, 2006 Lebanon War, 2008–2009 Operation Cast Lead, 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense, and 2014 Operation Protective Edge. The number of wars and border conflicts in which the IDF has been involved in its short history makes it one of the most battle-trained armed forces in the world.[7][8] While originally the IDF operated on three fronts—against Lebanon and Syria in the north, Jordan and Iraq in the east, and Egypt in the south—after the 1979 Egyptian–Israeli Peace Treaty, it has concentrated its activities in southern Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories, including the First and the Second Intifada.

The Israel Defense Forces differs from most armed forces in the world in many ways. Differences include the mandatory conscription of women and its structure, which emphasizes close relations between the army, navy, and air force. Since its founding, the IDF has been specifically designed to match Israel's unique security situation. The IDF is one of Israeli society's most prominent institutions, influencing the country's economy, culture and political scene. In 1965, the Israel Defense Forces was awarded the Israel Prize for its contribution to education.[9] The IDF uses several technologies developed in Israel, many of them made specifically to match the IDF's needs, such as the Merkava main battle tank, Achzarit armoured personnel carrier, high tech weapons systems, the Iron Dome missile defense system, Trophy active protection system for vehicles, and the Galil and Tavor assault rifles. The Uzi submachine gun was invented in Israel and used by the IDF until December 2003, ending a service that began in 1954. Since 1967, the IDF has had close military relations with the United States,[10] including development cooperation, such as on the F-15I jet, THEL laser defense system, and the Arrow missile defense system.

The Israel Defense Forces are believed to have had an operational nuclear weapons capability since 1967, possibly possessing between 80 and 400 nuclear weapons,[11] with delivery systems forming a nuclear triad, of plane launched-missiles, Jericho III intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine launched cruise missiles.

JAVELIN: THE TANK-KILLER MISSILE RUSSIA HATES MOST || WARTHOG 2017
    Warthog Defense

    Published on Dec 28, 2017
When Russia provided military support to separatists in Ukraine, columns of Russian tanks were instrumental in turning back Ukrainian Army offensives and seizing government strongpoints, notably the Donetsk International Airport in January 2015. For hawks like Senator John McCain pushing for the United States to provide direct military aid to Ukraine, Javelin missiles were cited as a key weapon system that might have reversed the Ukrainian Army’s fortunes on the battlefield—and one far more practical to put into action than a main battle tank or jet fighter. However, providing missiles of undeniably American origin would also have sharply escalated the conflict between the United States and Russia. Unlike the widely exported TOW missiles or various Russian weapon systems, there was no credible way for such weapons to end up in Ukrainian hands without American authorization. Thus: no Javelins for Ukraine.

M240 Medium Machine Gun | How to Load Unload and shoot | Tactical Rifleman
    Tactical Rifleman

    Published on Dec 29, 2017
This week, on Tactical Rifleman, we are going to do a brief introduction into the M-240 Medium Machinegun. Pretty well everyone in the modern US military is familiar with this weapon. It’s used in helicopters, as COAX on tanks, and is the bread-n-butter of all our weapon squads. We aren’t going to bore you with all the statistics. If you want to know the text book maximum effective range, then go to an E-5 Promotion Board. Rather, we are just going to cover Load/Unload/Malfunctions, and then wrap it up with dumping 400rds into a couple illegally parked cars. Hope you enjoy. Strength & Honor, TR.

Origins and Early History of the USMC M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle
    TFB TV

    Published on Dec 29, 2017
The USMC M27 IAR first came on the scene in late 2010 when it was issued to five deploying units that would see if the new automatic rifle was to be as viable as claimed. This video will cover some of the issues with the weapon system and some of the debate surrounding it, getting into as much detail as possible on camera through the experiences of Marine Infantrymen who actually carried it overseas and in combat. Today the M27 has reached full issue within the Fleet Marine Force and Reserves, and might even be reaching a full force adoption if Marine Corps Systems Command can get the contracts and solicitations sorted.

HANDGUN UNBOXING US Military unboxing the powerful Sig Sauer P320 M17 Handgun great for self defense
    ArmedForcesUpdate

    Published on Dec 30, 2017
The SIG Sauer P320 is a semi-automatic pistol made by SIG Sauer of Exeter, New Hampshire and SIG Sauer of Eckernförde, Germany. The SIG Sauer P320 can be chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. The P320 chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum was introduced in the North American market on January 15, 2014 followed by the .45 ACP compact model at the SHOT Show in January 2015.[1] The P320 is a further development of the SIG Sauer P250 utilizing a striker-fired mechanism in lieu of a double action only hammer system. On January 19, 2017, it was announced that the SIG Sauer P320 had won the United States Military XM17 Modular Handgun System competition, with a specialized version to become the new M17 pistol.[2]

    Design details[edit]
    Operating mechanism[edit]
Like other SIG Sauer pistols, the P320 pistol is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It uses the typical SIG Sauer cam-operated barrel, which locks into the ejection port on the slide.

    Features[edit]
A key feature of the pistol is its modular design. The main module of the P320 is an internal stainless steel frame fire control unit, which consists of the integrated fire control group (trigger, and all necessary linkage and springs), ambidextrous slide release (one on each side of the pistol), ejector and four slide rails. This steel receiver unit is used in every P320 grip module, top end, and chambering combination and is inserted into the grip frame module and held in place by the axis pin of the disassembly lever. The firearm's serial number is on the fire control unit instead of the grip module. The fire control unit allows the operator to interchange differently-sized slide assembly or top end modules and polymer grip frame modules and trigger shoes and (limited) chambering conversions to adapt the gun to the individual user and address different needs.

The P320 was designed to be ambidextrous in handling, sporting an ambidextrous slide catch lever and user reversible magazine catch. All other operating controls are designed so they can be operated from either side. The firearm can be field stripped with no tools. Additionally, the firearm can also be field stripped without depressing the trigger, an additional safety feature to prevent negligent discharge of the weapon.[3]

The full-size, carry and compact grip modules feature an integral Picatinny rail mounting-bracket at the lower forward edge of the module to allow the mounting of laser sights, tactical lights, and other accessories.

The P320 pistol is offered in three Glass-filled polymer grip module sizes—small, medium, and large—in each of the full-sized, carry, compact, and subcompact P320 variants. The pistol top ends also come in full-sized, compact, and subcompact variants that will fit the correspondingly sized grip modules. Every chambering can be converted by the user with a caliber exchange kit. The 9×19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG chamberings share their polymer grip frame modules and this offers the possibility to interchange these three chamberings by swapping the top end—consisting of the slide, recoil spring assembly, barrel and the box magazine. Due to the significantly larger external dimensions of the .45 ACP cartridge compared to the other P320 chambering options, the .45 ACP chambering uses slightly wider .45 ACP–specific polymer grip modules with an enlarged magazine well. The firearm's "fire control group", which contains the only serialized part of the firearm, is also slightly different to accommodate the enlarged magazine well.

The manufacturer offers caliber exchange kits or Caliber X-Change kits consisting of a slide, recoil assembly, barrel, box magazine and grip module in the varying frame sizes, grip module sizes and chambering variants in which the P320 pistol is offered. These kits enable a user to switch between the various P320 configurations without the use of tools.

    Safety[edit]
The standard P320 has no manual safeties, promoting instant readiness. Instead of manual safeties, an automated firing pin safety ensures safe carrying of the weapon, while preventing accidental discharges if the gun is dropped or roughly handled. The Modular Handgun System (MHS) or M17 version of the P320 has an ambidextrous thumb safety.

    Trigger system[edit]
The trigger is a pretensioned striker DAO trigger system. The trigger system has a pull weight of about 28.95 N, 5.5 lbf [4]

The P320 trigger is available in standard (solid) and tabbed (with trigger safety).[5]

    Barrel[edit]
The P320 is available with a 120 mm (4.7 in), 98 mm (3.9 in), or 91 mm (3.6 in) barrel depending on the size (full-sized, carry/compact or sub-compact respectively).

    Ammunition feeding[edit]
The pistol feeds from metal detachable box magazines with a six- to twenty-one-round magazine capacity, depending on chambering and pistol size.

    Sights[edit]
The P320 comes with three-dot combat-type iron sights of which the front sight element can be drifted to

Ranger Assessment & Selection Program - How to Become a 75th Ranger
    SOF-LAW-INTEL

    Published on Dec 9, 2015
Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) is an 8-week course held at Fort Benning, Georgia. RASP is required for all ranks. As of 2010, RASP replaced both the RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) for enlisted Soldiers and ROP (Ranger Orientation Program) for Officers, both commissioned and non-commissioned and below to be assigned to the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment.

RASP is designed to prepare soldiers, many of whom have just graduated Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, and Airborne School and are still considered "fresh" recruits, for assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment. Airborne-qualified soldiers from other units attempting to transfer to the 75th Ranger Regiment also attend the course, but are less common than new soldiers.

Russia Begins To Develop 5th. Gen. Surface-To-Air Missiles Systems For Its Army In 2018.

Russia’s Almaz-Antey Concern has started to develop the fifth-generation medium-range air defense missile system.

The weapons manufacturer company has started the research and development activities to create the fifth-generation medium-range air defense missile systems.

The R&D efforts will be conducted on the base of JSC Tikhomirov Scientific Research Institute of Instrument Design, which is the major developer of the air defense missile systems of the Buk family.

The fifth-generation medium-range air defense missile system will have a deep integration with the single layered air defense system and support of the network-centric control system.

Besides, the system’s target acquisition and destruction area will be expanded. It will also feature increased jamming resistance and support of the network-centric control system, also through the application of automation and robotics.

The new missile has a significantly lower weight. This has increased the missile system vehicle’s on-board ammunition capacity 1.5 times. The new system’s missiles are carried in containers and launched from them.

The Russian company has tested the fourth-generation Buk-M3 missile system.
