Street Food - Chinese Street Food - Best Street Food China

In this Chinese Street Food tour video, I take you around many places around China. This is my year end review of the most UNIQUE Chinese street food that I've had this year. Locations include Chengdu, Lanzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Beijing, Wuhan, Leshan, and Shanghai.

Chinese cuisine is so delicious, and I consider myself lucky to be living in Chengdu, Sichuan, eating Sichuan food all the time, tasting all the top Chinese foods to try whenever I want. I've decided to stay living in China for at least another 2 or 3 years to get the feel of it and eat as much as I can!

Chinese Street Food in Chengdu is some of the best in China. My parents came on a family holiday to travel in China with me and try the best street food in Chengdu. We tried a lot of Chinese snacks and Chinese street foods together, and my parents loved the insane spicy food! I brought them to a famous "fly restaurant", meaning a restaurant with apparently low cleanliness but incredibly delicious food.

Street food around the world is so diverse, and I'm so happy to be living here in Chengdu, China, and to be able to show my parents some of the best street food in China! Foodrangin' is so fun! Chinese cooking is incredibly delicious wherever you go in China, with 8 major Chinese cuisines to try, amazing Chinese restaurants in Chengdu, and to be able to travel China to taste it all is truly amazing. The spicy Sichuan food is out of the world! Walking into the kitchen to watch the chefs cook the Sichuan cuisine is always fun, I really recommend coming here!

New York Slice: The Pizza Show
    Munchies

    Published on Jan 2, 2017
New York is the birthplace of many things, but for today's purposes, we're sticking to pizza. Frank starts with a quick history lesson from Scott Wiener, the owner of Scott's Pizza Tours. Then, we hit the streets to see and taste the history for ourselves. The best thing about the city's pizza scene is that it's relatively young, so you can still eat slices from the ovens of the people that started it all and put New York pizza on the map.

We meet the granddaughters of the man that literally brought pizza over from Naples, and even see the ovens that he used. Then, we hit all the best slices from Greenwich Village to Soho, and finish in Brooklyn at Luigi's Pizza, a place untouched by time.

The Pizza Show: Extra Slice - Kesté Pizza & Vino in New York
    Munchies

    Published on Jan 3, 2017
The earliest pizzerias in New York were an unintentional byproduct of Italian immigrants who came to America in search of new opportunities. Now, over 100 years later, that opportunity is pizza. In the early 2000s, Roberto Caporuscio immigrated from Italy and opened Kesté Pizza & Vino in Greenwich Village. He has dedicated his life to preserving the traditions of Neapolitan pizza.

Incredible Crispy Roast Goose and Claypot Rice in Hong Kong — HK Travel Food Guide!

On Day 36 of our Round The World Trip for Food with Star Alliance, it was a rainy day in Hong Kong. We started off with some local dim sum, then had incredible roast goose and finished the night with claypot rice.

1:03 Breakfast dim sum at Sam Hui Yat - Thanks to http://www.foodiehub.tv/, for recommending this restaurant to me. Sam Hui Yat is a Hong Kong neighborhood dim sum restaurant that’s nothing fancy at all, but serves just good tasting, everyday dim sum and yum cha. It’s just a neighborhood hangout, and it’s the type of place I absolutely love. We had a mix of different dim sum, all of which sit at the front of the restaurant slowly steaming and keeping hot until they are ordered and eaten. Everything was good but the lo mai gai, glutinous rice steamed in a lotus leaf was one of my personal favorites. Total price - 102 HKD ($13.15)

7:32 Yung Kee Roast Goose - For lunch we headed to the legendary Yung Kee restaurant in Hong Kong, known for serving some of the best roast goose in all of Hong Kong. There are a lot of stories and drama that surrounds Yung Kee, that I don’t even begin to know all about. But anyway, the restaurant is overall very nice, like a pretty fancy Chinese Cantonese restaurant. The roast goose was absolutely out of this world, with skin that was so crispy and juicy, and a nice blend of salty and sweet in the sauce. Yung Kee is an amazing restaurant in Hong Kong for fantastic roast duck. The chicken and the other dishes we tried were also excellent. Total price - 654.50 HKD ($84.33)

17:29 Four Seasons Claypot Rice (Yau Ma Tei) - To be honest, my wife Ying and I were pretty tired and exhausted from the day, but we decided to head over to Yau Ma Tei for a quick local Hong Kong dinner and to walk around the Temple Street Night Market. Since we were both quite full from lunch, we only ordered a couple dishes including a claypot rice with chicken and mushrooms, and a plate of morning glory with fermented bean sauce on the top. It was a great dinner on this Hong Kong food drink. Total price - 71 HKD ($9.15)

23:12 Temple Street Night Market - Temple Street Night Market is one of the old Hong Kong night markets. There’s not a lot to see or do, but it’s a nice place to browse around at night.

Day 35 in Hong Kong was a wonderful day of delicious Hong Kong food and attraction!

    Disclaimer and Thank You:
Thank you to Star Alliance and their Round The World tickets (http://www.staralliance.com/en/round-...) for sponsoring my business class flights.
Thank you to JW Marriott Hong Kong for sponsoring my hotel stay.

I personally paid for all food and attractions in this video, and I decided what to do and where to eat.

Business of Pizza: The Pizza Show
    Munchies

    Published on Jan 6, 2017
A lot of pizzerias might be mom and pop businesses, but the reality is that the pizza industry is valued at over $38 billion in the US alone. Most people know about the "big four"—Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, and Little Caesars—but in this episode, we explore some new frontiers of the pizza business. We begin in Silicon Valley at Zume Pizza, a company using robots and trucks outfitted with ovens to revolutionize delivery pizza.

Then, we're off to one of the fastest-growing international markets, South Korea, to see our host Frank Pinello collaborate on a New York -style pie with Mr. Pizza, one of the largest pizza chains based out of Seoul. (There might also be a professional "pizza dancing" team in this one.)

Chinese Street Food - Street Food China

I made my way to Chongqing, in search of the best Chinese street food and unique Chinese Sichuan food. I found a ton of street food and specialty Chongqing snacks. Chongqing is in Southwest China, only a 1.5 hour train ride from Chengdu, home of a sub-style of Sichuan cuisine, and the food is fantastic! There was a lot of Chinese street food on every corner. Just like you, I love street food around the world, and I travel for food. I came here to eat!

Street food in China is something I’m always looking to find more of! So I took the train to Chongqing, China and have been trying Chinese Street food non stop. Best Street Food in China I’ve tasted! The Chinese food is so good in Chongqing! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Shanghai, and street food in Chengdu, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the chinese street food in Chongqing has been some of the best!

On Day 37 of our Round The World Trip For Food, we continued the food tour of Hong Kong starting with a classic Hong Kong breakfast of lemon tea and a beef and scrambled egg sandwich. We then had some delicious bamboo pounded noodles and wonton, and then continued to have dinner at a famous dai pai dong.

00:29 Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記 Thank you to Josephine for this recommendation) - For breakfast in Hong Kong we headed over to Sham Shui Po and went to a classic Hong Kong cafe and restaurant called Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記). I ordered my usual hot lemon tea, a glass of black tea with a half of a lemon chopped up inside. It was wonderful. We then had a beef and scrambled egg sandwich, which was surprisingly much better than I thought it was going to be. The bread was toasted wonderfully and the beef and eggs on the inside tasted so good, fried in what I think was butter. Total price - 33 HKD ($4.25)

4:58 Sham Shui Po market - After eating breakfast we walked around the Sham Shui Po market, a local fresh wet market in Hong Kong. The market was busy and stocked with everything you could imaging that goes into Hong Kong food.

6:29 Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面) - There are many famous restaurants in Hong Kong that serve egg noodles and wonton, but I really wanted to find a restaurant that specialized in bamboo kneaded noodles, which is becoming harder and harder to find in Hong Kong. So finally I found a place called Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面), a new restaurant that uses the owner's family recipe and technique for making his noodles. I was hoping to get to see the noodles being made, but unfortunately they weren’t making them at the time we got there to eat. Nevertheless, the noodles were still made using a bamboo pole to knead the dough. The noodles were amazing, had such a fantastic texture to them, and the wontons were equally as delicious. It was a fantastic noodle eating experience in Hong Kong. Total price - 84 HKD ($10.83)

13:11 Mong Kok, Ladies Market - Mongkok is one of the most famous areas in Hong Kong for shopping, and we walked around the area for a little bit. Ladies Market is a walking street flea market where you’ll find everything from clothes to souvenirs to luggage.

16:40 Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Star Ferry - 2.3 HKD ($0.30) - After walking around Mongkok we took the bus over to Tsim Sha Tsui to walk around and enjoy the views of the skyline of Hong Kong.

18:26 Tung Po Restaurant at Java Road Market (Thank you to Charles for this recommendation) - For dinner, we went to Java Road Market, and to a restaurant called Tung Po, that’s a well known dai pai dong restaurant within the market. They serve a huge menu of different Cantonese and even Thai dishes. My wife and I ordered a couple of different dishes, the highlight of the meal being the razor clams stir fried in black bean sauce. In addition to the food, the ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you want in Hong Kong. Total price - 464 HKD ($59.83)

26:00 A Symphony of Lights - Finally to end this day of food in Hong Kong we went back to Tsim Sha Tsui to see the symphony of lights show.

A simple recipe to try with just about any type of meat. Venison steak is just a bonus really. A true Portuguese traditional sauce, homemade, and if I did up the chips...added a red hot pepper with a fresh Portuguese roll, it would have been out of control! Give it a try sometime

ITALIAN PEPPERS AND EGGS | Capsicum Recipes (Pipindun e Ove) | Easy Breakfast Recipes
    Vincenzos Plate

    Published on Jan 11, 2017
Peppers and eggs (Pipindun e ove) is a classic 2-ingredient dish which can be served as a starter, lunch or even for breakfast! The flavours of fried peppers mixed with egg and the very best extra virgin olive oil enjoyed with crisp, homemade Italian bread, will transport you to a hearty meal in the Italian mountainside.
This dish has been enjoyed for generations, which is why I chose to make it with my Dad on a recent trip to Lake Scanno. The perfect company and setting made it taste even better!

    ITALIAN PEPPERS AND EGGS

    INGREDIENTS:
    2 x peppers (capsicums)
    4 x eggs
    Extra virgin olive oil (XVOO)
    Salt
    Pepper

    METHOD:
    1. To make the peppers and eggs, start by cutting the peppers in half. Remove the seeds and then cut them into strips.
    2. Put your pan on medium heat and add a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil.
    3. Once this has started to warm, add in the strips of peppers and stir using a wooden spoon.
    4. Leave this to simmer, stirring occasionally to make sure the peppers are moist with oil.
    5. While this is simmering, in a small bowl, crack the four eggs. Sprinkle a touch of salt into the bowl, and beat well using a fork.
    6. Once the peppers have softened, pour the egg mix into the pan and leave for 5-7 seconds. Then, mix rigorously using a wooden spoon. The eggs will start to become fluffy and mix in well with the peppers.
    7. Leave for another 5-7 seconds and repeat until the egg is cooked through.

    HOW TO SERVE:
    1. Transfer individual portions onto your plates and serve with a slice of fresh bread.
    2. If you have fresh truffle (or even truffle oil), add some on top and then devour!

    E ora si mangia, Vincenzo’s Plate…Enjoy!

Hong Kong Street Food Tour — Roasted Meat and Amazing Dai Pai Dong Experience!

On Day 38 of our Round The World Trip for Food with Star Alliance, I wanted to make it a full on Hong Kong street food tour. We first started with some amazing Hong Kong roast meat, then had lunch at a legendary Hong Kong dai pai dong street food stall, and then continued on to a local Hong Kong dai pai dong for dinner.

00:50 Kwan Yu Roasted Meat (君御燒味) - Starting off the morning, we first ate at Kwan Yu Roasted Meat (君御燒味), a small and friendly Cantonese roasted meat restaurant. I ordered roast pork, char siu, and also got a soy sauce pigeon on the side. Everything was good, but the soy sauce pigeon, a local Hong Kong delicacy, was the best. Nothing like starting off a Hong Kong food tour with some roasted meats! Total price - 81 HKD ($10.44)

What is a dai pai dong? A dai pai dong officially means a restaurant with a big license plate, but it refers to usually open air cooked food stalls, or Hong Kong street food stalls.

7:20 Sing Kee (盛記) - One of the legendary Hong Kong street food dai pai dong’s located right in the heart of Hong Kong central is Sing Kee (盛記). They serve all sorts of stir fried dishes that you order to make. I ordered a plate of sweet and sour pork ribs, chicken with ginger and spring onion, and clams in black bean sauce. The street food stall has an amazing atmosphere, slotted between sky rise buildings within an alley. The chef was pretty friendly, and when I was taking photos, he offered me a taste test of the sweet and sour ribs, right out of the wok. Sing Kee (盛記) is an amazing Hong Kong street food stall to eat at when you’re in Hong Kong. Total price - 169 HKD ($21.79)

13:27 Chan Kun Kee (陳根記) dai pai dong (Thank you to: http://www.strippedpixel.com/ for this recommendation) - Finally for dinner, I decided we needed to take a little food mission to Fo Tan Station, Wo Che Estate, Sha Tin, Hong Kong, in search of a properly local Hong Kong dai pai dong experience. The restaurant was tucked back into a neighborhood, far removed from the everyday hustle of Hong Kong. Yet in the midst of the condos, there it was, Chan Kun Kee (陳根記), an incredibly huge open air restaurant serving all things Cantonese food. I ordered the drunken chicken, fried fish, mantis shrimp, and a spicy fish pot. The food was awesome, and the loud and hectic Hong Kong environment was perfect. This was a stop on today’s Hong Kong food tour that was well worth getting off the eaten path for. Total price - 402 HKD ($51.83)

It was an amazing day of eating Hong Kong street food on this food tour. I don’t think I can choose a favorite meal or dish of the day, they were all so delicious!

This is the final video in this Round The World for Food video series with Star Alliance. It was an amazing trip, the most action packed every day trip with food that I’ve ever taken in my life. I want to say a huge thank you to you for your support and for watching all the videos!

On Day 39, I wanted to have one final delicious meal in Hong Kong, and so we decided to take a quick trip over to Aberdeen Fish Market, which is outside of the main city, but very close, across the mountain. Turned out to be one of the best seafood meals I’ve ever had in Hong Kong, awesomely fresh seafood. We then headed to the airport and caught a flight with Thai Airways back home to Bangkok!

1:04 Aberdeen Fish Market - Located across Hong Kong island from the main part of the city, but only a 10 minute bus ride when there’s no traffic, Aberdeen is a nice place to visit. It also happens to be home to a wholesale seafood market. The market wasn’t too busy or crowded, but it was quite nice. But the main reason we went there was to eat an amazing Hong Kong seafood meal.

2:47 Aberdeen Fish Market Yee Hope Seafood Restaurant - It took me a little while to find the restaurant as I wasn’t sure if there was more than one restaurant at the fish market - but it turns out that I think there was just one restaurant, known as Aberdeen Fish Market Yee Hope Seafood Restaurant. The English part of their menu had some seafood set meals, so I just decided to order the full set which included crab, steamed fish, scallops, and a few other incredible seafood dishes. What impressed me the most about this Hong Kong seafood restaurant was that not only was the seafood extremely fresh, but it was cooked perfectly - nothing was too salty or overcooked - but everything was literally perfect. Although it wasn’t cheap, it this seafood meal in Hong Kong was the perfect last meal on this round the world trip! Total price - 646 HKD ($83.26)

14:38 Hong Kong Airport Express - After finishing the seafood meal we checked out of our hotel and headed to Hong Kong International Airport to head back to Bangkok. Price for airport express - 170 HKD ($21.91) for 2

15:28 Star Alliance Flight #10 - Thai Airways: Hong Kong to Bangkok - For our final flight of the trip we flew with Thai Airways from Hong Kong to Bangkok!

The epic seafood meal in Hong Kong was the highlight of the day!

Pork Chops in a Homemade Sauce - Reverse Searing
The Woodsman School and Guide Service

    Published on Jan 15, 2017
Breaking down a 6 rib pork roast that would be too big for my wife and I, and ending up with chops. I use nearly the same Portuguese sauce but a couple differences. Also some reverse-searing is used, which means the chops are cooked in the oven first to temperature, and then seared....opposed to searing first as typically done. No starch with this one, wasn't that hungry ; )
