    Dana Linn Bailey's career has taken a few turns since she became the first Women's Physique Olympia champion. She has taken an indefinite hiatus from competing in the IFBB for the now and recently announced she would be officially competing in powerlifting. She has also focused on her business Flag Nor Fail and constantly giving back to the fans with events and community gatherings. Basically - she may be taking a break from competing in bodybuilding proper but she hasn't taken a break from bodybuilding and fitness itself.

    I get a lot of requests from my followers asking for recipes that they can use for making their own homemade high protein shakes without using whey protein powder.

    So in this video I'm going to cover the top 10 high protein natural foods that you can use for making protein shakes and high protein blender smoothies without using any protein powder what so ever.

    1 - Milk - is a good source of protein with 8 grams of protein per cup, many people like to mix their protein powder with milk to help bump up the protein content.

    2 - Soy Milk - this contains the same amount of protein as cows milk, with 8 grams of protein per cup. It's a good alternative for those who are lactose intolerant.

    3 - Powder Milk - is a concentrated source of milk protein that contains 35 grams of protein per 100 grams of powder.

    4 - Greek Yogurt - this is higher in protein and lower in carbs compared to regular yogurt. It contains 10 grams of protein per 100 grams of yogurt.

    5 - Cottage Cheese - has a very similar nutritional profile to Greek Yogurt with 10 grams of protein per 100 grams.

    6 - Egg Whites - this is a very high quality source of protein with 25 grams of protein per cup of liquid egg whites.

    7 - Oats - while you may think of oats as a source of carbohydrates, they also contain a decent amount of protein with 16 grams of protein per 100 grams of dry oats.

    8 - Bread - just like oats, bread is usually considered a source of complex carbohydrates, but it contains 13 grams of protein per 100 grams.

    9 - Peanut Butter - this is a very dense food with 25 grams of protein per 100 grams, the only draw back is that it's also very high in fat so use it in moderation.

    10 - Hemp Hearts - a very healthy food that's packed with nutrition, high in protein, and a good source of omega 3 fatty acids.

    In the video I made a sample home made protein shake with:
    - 1 cup of liquid pasteurized egg whites
    - 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
    - 1 tablespoonful of natural peanut butter
    - 1 banana
    - 1 cup of frozen mango chunks

    The nutritional info for this shake is:
    - Calories: 585
    - Protein: 45 grams
    - Carbs: 65 grams
    - Fat: 16 grams

    Eleven seconds was all it took. Eleven seconds stopped cold a promising hockey career scarcely before it started - all on live television. Travis Roy was a promising 20-year-old hockey star, moments into his first collegiate game as a B.U. freshman, a freak accident cracked his fourth vertebra left him paralyzed from the neck down.

    One misdirected check in the most important hockey game of his life sent Travis Roy crashing into the boards and ended his dreams of hockey greatness. Instead of fulfilling his lifelong dream, he now found himself paralyzed and a quadriplegic. Yet he sees his life’s glass not as half empty or half full but as overflowing!

    How did Roy deal with such a dramatic shift in his life? What lessons can you take to overcome obstacles in your own? This optimist talks about his challenges and the strategies he has used to cope, including starting a foundation to help others in a similar predicament.

    Lessons:

    1. Sometimes you choose challenges, sometimes they choose you. How you handle them defines you.
    2. Quality of life goals are as important as career goals.

    Of course, Kris also has a few treats lined up during his travels that you probably don't, like personalized coaching from elite IFBB pro bodybuilder Ben Pakulski. But that doesn't mean you can't watch the workout, print it out, and follow it to the letter!

    Does that mean the whole week is a walk in the park? Definitely not. This week, Kris also does something you'll never see him do: give up on a workout halfway through. He also goes for an epic bike ride with an elite triathlete for the first time. If you want to know how it turns out, you need to watch.

    | Training and Nutrition Tips |
    - At a gym that's crowded or limited, but has weight plates? Remember, you can use plates in place of dumbbells in your training. Kris finds that the stabilization challenge of lifting plates helps carry over to swimming.

    - Traveling? Get a workout in as soon as you can after you land. It doesn't have to be much. Just get the blood flowing. Kris swears by it, and he's far from alone.

    - Are you locking out on your presses? If swimming is your goal, you should be. Swimming demands a strong lockout, so don't limit yourself here.

    - If you've only been swimming in a 25-meter pool so far, do yourself a favor and try a 50-meter pool as well. But expect it to be hard! Kris changes his whole approach to scheduling his day to help get the most out of his special trip to a 50-meter.

    - Kris swears by his glutamine, but especially while training on the road. Are you taking your supps with you when you're out, or leaving that up to chance? If you have elite goals, they require serious planning.

    - Home by 9:30, eating a good dinner, and in bed by 10-ish? That's Kris' approach. Clean living is underrated.
