Yours seems to be missing something.

I think I saw one the other day or it was something like this. :36_2_36:

A picture or a link would help greatly.

Yup, these combos can sometimes be had right around melt. These commemorative series don't seem to be very popular, but gold is gold, and silver is silver. It's also money backed by Uncle Sam.

Looks like you'll get a second chance.

I threw a few bucks at a set of 11 silver nickles and then did a quick search for what other stuff the seller had to offer to combine shipping on.
found a set of 6 morgan dollars with some room yet and did some quick price checking.
Where I went wrong was I calculated the morgans with the 11 quanity of the nickles rather than the 6 (my bad but, I got high bid :eek_ma:)
I was in at $23+ EA but someone needed them a little more than I did before the close of the auction.

I came across a Brazil 10000 Reis Gold Coin that I don't have in my collection yet. 0.2643 oz AGW. Came across one for ~$365. How is that for pricing? A little more of a premium than I would like to pay for my gold, but I have never seen one before and eBay seems to have them priced higher.

strange you mention, im waiting for some 20000 reis to show up today from ST, paid $698 for them

one thing i noticed on ebay is that there arn't many and the few that are there hardly get any interest

same goes for internet searches, not a whole lot out there, could be good, could be bad

Funny you are waiting for a Brazilian Reis as well. I guess my 10000 Reis has a little higher premium than the 20000 Reis you got from ST. To be expected being slightly smaller fractional. But the premium isn't horrible and ST is actually really good with low premiums on some of their coins. I think I will go for it. Plus I should get 1% back on my CC.

Yeah I also haven't found much info on the 10000 Reis. Not sure why that is. Never seen on in a LCS when I have stopped by. But I want one for my stash.

In Dallas this weekend and went to a LCS, purchased some silver rounds and my first gold pieces paid $345 each for the gold. Which I think was a descent deal for 1/4oz.

I'd say so since Apmex' current 1/4 oz generic gold round is $367.08

I do not think that is bad for the 1/4-oz GAE's. If I saw a dealer selling those at a show, they probably would got for about $350-$355 as a guestimate with spot at $1300.

I don't buy any PMs from anyone with less than at least 500 feedback. I hope someone has the knowledge to check that coin! http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=25&iid=-1&de=off&which=negative&interval=365

This down right scary! Check out the fake assay's as well! Seems they mainly do 1 oz variances instead of fractional. Be cautious out there.

Don't be so sure you are buying a real AGE or ASE!

I would think the Tungsten inside would stick to a magnet rather well and be a dead give away.

One of the oddest auction descriptions I've seen in a while:

I did good and bad. Local dealer offered me four 1 ozt Krugerrands for $1277 each yesterday. I bought two as I was worried about spending too much cash. By the time I got over my case of stupid and went back to buy the other two, they were gone. Not all is lost as he offered me three sovereigns at $300 each.

Sounds like you did good on the krands at spot/ish.
Your dealer cant expect you to fund his retirement in just one sitting :D

I think you did a little better on the sovereigns as long as they are full or better.

I cant get anywhere close to those prices at the LCS

Could someone get one of those fake AGEs and test it out? I don't want to pay 200 for one, NOR would I want to buy 10 of them....

    Never mind

    http://youtu.be/2P1h6uXDACY

He does a side by side: they can't perfect them. The face is a clear fake, but the tone is obvious. Gently drop one on a granite counter and it's as plain as the light of day. It is scary that a fake one can be the same dimensions and weight.... Frankly, Im shocked.

Another give away: the real ones are concave... The fake one is flat and doesn't pinwheel light, because they can't compress it enough without it breaking up the core.

At that price, what have you got to lose? Paypal will cover you if you don't get your product and even if the seller doesn't come through, you're only tying up a hundred bucks.

My only concern is if they're real. I hate having to verify every damn thing I buy on eBay

I guess you never really know of course and as long as you use a cc on paypal you're protected, but FWIW there are fakes of that particular 1oz scottsdale bar out there. Considering the seller has zero selling feedback it's probably safe to assume this was a scam especially considering the original auction didn't feature a pic of the reverse.
