Hi all, its been a while since i last posted.

I have had the dog for a decade. And am getting tired of up, down slightly, slightly up, then down again, sideways and then the Friday slams. Paid $12 oz which at the time was $20AUD. TBH I would have gained more leaving money in the bank at even the current 2%........Its currently $26AUD

    Anyone else thinking this way?

Gold is not a wise investment, it is a better store of wealth for the longer term. That's where you made the mistake IMO.

You cannot get rich by saving gold.

You may become rich by stacking gold but a lot of things have to change first for that to happen. I agree on all counts. Gold is a medium to preserve wealth, not build on it

Same difference IMHO. I view gold as my savings account and silver as my checking account for the future

    Thanks all,

I guess I am being overly optimistic, and expected 5% + a year rise.

I try to think of what else I could really waste money on and quickly realize this stuff does actually seem like a good investment.

Metals purchasing power will be suppressed until inflation begins rapid acceleration, and remain parallel.
Therefore, one will be unlikely to become "rich" in todays common form or profile.
Yes safer in many ways one may be, as securing common amenities will be within reach.
However, unless you have significant amount, "richness" will not befall upon you.
"Enriched" with purchasing capability compared to majority will be yours and a double edged sword.
Inflationary confiscation will ensue unless black markets dominate.
Easily 20th century collapses demonstrate these variables.
Propagation of such is well underway.
Exceptions will abound in both directions and possession will be 9/10ths of the law.
If in Zimbabwe a loaf of bread cost 1 gram of panned gold, how rich is that?
Hawk eyes should be upon Venezuela, as from rich to poor happened quickly.
USSR has been forgotten, but remember $100 bill was the gold, and ol' Ben ain't lookin' any younger.
Certainly hope for those who invested expendable income upon financial security.
There are no longevity inclusive parameters within commoners grasp during normality.
Trees fall, lightning strikes, and cars crash, everyday.
Disruption of expected normality, guaranteed and epic it shall be.
    Expedient, no it will not.

Quibble and remark away if you comprehend the rhyme of history.
    Most; DO NOT.

I find the pessimism on PMs to be very bullish.

Thanks for the all your input. I cannot help but consider what the price of PMs would be under a true bullion mechanism rather than all these derivatives flying around on the COMEX and such?
