    Bottom line id the money and y'all knew that, right. Strong encryption cost maga dollars with no ROI.

    Plus say they allowed you to make your own keys they wouldn't be able to sell their databases. That is where 80% (just a guess) of their profit and operating expenses are made. Allowing the user to create his/her own keys would kill their business as simply the user could change the keys as often as they choose.

    Granted the blue people are to stupid or just don't care.

    More: I stayed away from cloud storage until I learned encryption well enough to make it not so much of a pain in the a$$ to change the key every week on random days.
