75 watt dual band FM mobile by Luiton LT-598UV

In this video, I will show by request the results of this Luiton LT-598UV 75 watt mobile, which is identical to the BTech UV50X2 and some others that look identical. Actual output of this unit on my meters is 80+ watts. Comes with everything you would expect like programming cable/software, backlit DTMF mic and mounting bracket. And less than the BTech model.

Recorded in Ocford UK on 15/06/17 at 18:34 hrs UTC using an Sangean ATS-909x receiver and the internal telescopic antenna.

What your wife really thinks about your RV Ham Radio Station, MFJ-915 Review K6UDA Radio

My wife has constantly complained about all the ham radio gear (in her eyes) I have strewn about the motorhome. This time I'm bringing in a female ham to confirm or refute that point of view. Wendy & I discuss what's appropriate in my Motorhome; Elecraft KX3 line or the Icom IC7300. I'm also making some contacts with the new Icom IC-7300 and the Chameleon Hybrid-Micro as an end fed antenna. My results were pretty astonishing.

Wartime Radio The Secret Listeners BBC (1979)
    Nicholas Hyer

    Published on Dec 28, 2014
Illustrated with archival film and photographs, as well as interviews with those involved, the documentary traces the evolution of civilian involvement in radio-based intelligence during both world wars.

It was the tireless work of amateur radio enthusiasts during World War I, that initially convinced the Admiralty to establish a radio intercept station at Hunstanton. Playing an integral role during the war, technological advances meant that radio operators could pinpoint signals, thus uncovering the movement of German boats, leading to the decisive Battle of Jutland in 1916.

Wireless espionage was to play an even more important role during World War II, with the Secret Intelligence Service setting up the Radio Security Service, which was staffed by Voluntary Interceptors, a band of amateur radio enthusiasts scattered across Britain. The information they collected was interpreted by some of the brightest minds in the country, who also had a large hand in deceiving German forces by feeding false intelligence.

Hi there, despite an understandably weak signal with fading, I thought this was massively impressive from the Eton. I did copy this station with 6 metres of wire and the Sony ICF-SW100 a while back, but other than that, nothing with less than 30 metres of wire.

Recorded in Oxford UK on 20/07/17 at 17:18 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching.

Still out at Mount Beenak, about 45 min drive from Mount Evelyn. This is a great bush location with no noise, which allows for the reception of weak signals in the early afternoon in winter. Reception is via the long path from Europe and the short path for North America. The antenna is a random wire, about 25m long.

An overview and demonstration of a radio from my childhood.

There is a religious television station still broadcasting via analog television within the UHF band in this area. Even with a high quality directional TV antenna, I can only barely pull it in and I've never received it for long enough to get a station ID.

The company selling these radios new in box was asking $100 each! (While I can't imagine why, they must have gotten it, as they did sell out.) http://www.jackbergsales.com/electron...

Hi there, heres a quick comparison of the performance of the Elad FDM DUO and Yaesu FRG-8800 on longwave using the Wellbrook ALA1530 active loop antenna outside. A decent signal from Iceland and I believe at this time of night the programming is Rás 2.

Recorded in Oxford on 26/07/17 around 02:00 hrs UTC. Thanks for watching.

A noisy presumed Radio Malabo heard on the SDRPLAY Rsp 1 and 60ft random wire in Nova Scotia.

I will be keeping an ear on this in the coming days to see if it broadcasts on a regular basis and to get a better recording.
