    Shades of 'Unintended Consequences'!

Sheila Abdus-Salaam, an associate judge on New York State’s highest court and the first African-American woman to serve on that bench, was found dead on Wednesday in the Hudson River, the authorities said.

Officers with the New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit responded about 1:45 p.m. to a report of a person floating by the shore near West 132nd Street in Upper Manhattan. Judge Abdus-Salaam, 65, was taken to a pier on the Hudson River and was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after 2 p.m.

Isn't this the second dead judge this week?

Associate Judge Raymond Myles, 66, was shot multiple times shortly before 5 a.m. Monday morning, on his porch in the South Side of the city, authorities confirmed.

She was a buddy of Holder. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few days stories started leaking out that she was under investigation.

I'm guessing the Chicago judge went a little too crazy on sentencing on some pos gangbangers who had his group retaliate.

Her death seems cloak & dagger/sinister.

'She had a breaking point like everyone else': Pioneering African American judge who 'committed suicide' was a cancer survivor who was 'stressed' at work and whose brother and mother both killed themselves at Easter
    • Sheila Abdus-Salaam was found dead in the Hudson River Wednesday afternoon
    • She was fully clothed, with no obvious signs of trauma suggesting foul play
    • The judge called in sick from work on Tuesday, then failed to show up at her Manhattan office on Wednesday, prompting a missing person report
    • She was divorced and recently remarried Reverend Gregory Jacobs in June
    • Abdus-Salaam lost her 92-year-old mother to suicide in 2012 on Easter and her brother to suicide two years later around Easter holiday
    • Police official said the 65-year-old judge was struggling with depression and that she had began taking medication just weeks before her apparent suicide
    • Abdus Salaam was a groundbreaking judge who was also the first African American woman to serve in New York's Court of Appeals
    • Earlier reports called her 'the first female Muslim U.S. judge', but a spokesman for the Court of Appeals said she was not Muslim

I hope this is the beginning of a trend. There are many judges who would serve the country best by committing suicide. We should start a help line to urge them to do the right thing
