ACSS reticle & Primary Army 1-8X24 Scope Review by Brent0331
    Brent0331

    Published on Mar 24, 2017
I recently acquired a new Primary Arms 1-8X24 Scope. I was very surprised at the quality and performance of this optic given the price point. This was my first experience with a Primary Arms optic and I must say that everything I’ve heard in regards to price and quality has been true thus far. Even more impressive for me was the reticle that the scope is equipped with. In this video we’ll take an in-depth look at the Advanced Combined Sighting System (ACSS). The designer of this reticle turned out to be a frequent viewer of my channel, after talking to him on the phone, researching and shooting with this optic, I’m convinced that the Marine Corps should be looking at this reticle to put in the next generations of RCO optics. Trijicon has even come out with TA-31 featuring the ACSS reticle, in my opinion, that is probably one of the best combat optics for an individual infantry rifleman available.

Specification on the Primary Arm 1-8x24 scope:

    Battery Type: 1X CR2032 3V
    Brand: Primary Arms
    Click Value: 1/2 Moa
    Exit Pupil Diameter: 9.0mm at 1x, 3.0mm at 8x
    Eye Relief: Low: 3.50 / High: 3.30
    Focal Plane: Second Focal Plane
    Illuminated: Yes
    Maximum Magnification: 8
    Minimum Magnification: 1
    Night Vision Compatible: No
    Objective Diameter: 24mm
    Reticle Type: ACSS® 5.56 / 5.45 / .308
    Tube Diameter: 30mm
    Type: Variable Magnification
    Weight: 16.0 Oz.

In this viewer requested video we go over the process of mounting an optic as a gunsmith would including lapping the rings to maintain 75% or better contact with the scope tube, the top rings do not require lapping as they will find their home once torqued in place. This is a process that is necessary for proper fitment of two piece bases especially or lesser quality rings but is not typically required for precision rings such as Spuhr one piece mounts, Leupold Mark 4, Badger Ordnance or Seekins tactical rings for example as has been shown in a previous video. Hopefully this clears up some of the questions and concerns that you guys may have had. Stay tuned, much more on the way.

Leupold: History of an American Optics Company

Leupold is one of the best known and most loved optics companies in the United States. The name has become synonymous with quality and their lifetime, unconditional, warranty. I've used Leupold optics my entire life and never really knew their history, until now. We traveled out to Oregon, the home of Leupold, and learned a lot about this great American scope maker.

What REALLY makes the Trijicon ACOG so Different? ~ Rex Reviews
    TiborasaurusRex

    Published on Apr 14, 2017
What really makes the Trijicon ACOG so good? Which model ACOG is the best for getting the maximum potential out of your cartridge? What reticle is the best? In this review, Rex covers many commonly overlooked details that can help you understand what has made this optic legendary.

The Trijicon ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) is a combat proven, dual illuminated optic designed to be used under any lighting conditions. The extremely durable optic combines the precision necessary for distance marksmanship with CQB speed and both-eyes open shooting to maximize hit potential at any distance, at any time.

The special edition TA31 4x ACOG features the ACSS Reticle offering which in Rex’s opinion offer superior first-hit capabilities out to 800 yards! The ACSS is compatible with 5.56 NATO, .308 Winchester, and 5.45x39 7n6!

I bought one of these for my son a few years ago, about $50 on sale. After I shot it, I wanted one. I got one a while ago. I paid around $60. This works perfectly for me. I am not willing to pay more for a red dot than I paid for the rifle. I have heard nothing but good about this sight and it works great for me at the range. Maybe if the government or somebody else was paying, I would get the more expensive brands. Here is a good review in my opinion.

If you are just looking to test out a red dot to see if they are for you, get this one, around $20. I am thinking of ordering one to try out. I heard they are made in the same factory as the Bushnell.

Scopes for ULTRA LONG RANGE - IOR Valdada CRUSADER & TERMINATOR - Rex Reviews
    TiborasaurusRex

    Published on Apr 3, 2016
What rifle scope features are required for Ultra Long Range precision shooting? Rex introduces IOR Valdada’s solution to the ULR optics challenge. The new I.O.R. Valdada CRUSADER 5.8-40x56 and the TERMINATOR 12-52x56 scopes offer feature combinations never before offered to the public.

For the purposes of this video, ultra long range is defined as those distances exceeding the maximum supersonic range of the projectile, typically beyond 1 mile. For distances such as these, superior tier 1 glass quality is needed to benefit from the full magnification range of high powered scopes. Additional features such as oversized main tubes combined with in line rifle chassis systems can dramatically increase the shooter’s abilities to spot his own shots under recoil. Stay tuned for more on this topic from other professional shooters.

Sturdy Scope for FAL? DSA SA58 Para 16" SUPPRESSED with Primary Arms 1-6x24 ACSS ~ Rex Reviews
    TiborasaurusRex

    Published on Jun 8, 2017
Few scopes survive long term use on the FAL pattern rifle due to its notorious forward-bolt-slam impulse. After destroying over half a dozen scopes on the FAL over the years, Rex finally gave up on the idea - until now. Rex and 188Mule battle test the Primary Arms 1-6x24 SFP ACSS on this DSA SA58 16 inch Para Tactical. From point blank to 600yds and farther, the ACSS reticle works pretty good. After running the PA 1-6x24 ACSS on the Armalite AR-10, Rex wanted to step it up a notch. Enjoy!

How to Zero Aimpoint Sight | Shooting Techniques | Tactical Rifleman
    Tactical Rifleman

    Published on Jun 9, 2017
Here at Tactical Rifleman, we wanted a YouTube Channel where operators and civilians could go to get information on how to “Shoot, Move, and Communicate.” So, this week, we are going back to our core basics and we are going to talk about how to zero an Aimpoint red dot scope. Aimpoints are the original red dot, and have been around for 40 years. They started showing up at Group in the 90s, and are battle proven. I thought everyone knew how to zero red dots, but we have had multiple viewers ask for help; so here we are… ask and you shall receive.
Whenever you are zeroing your sight, irons or optics, always try to ensure you have a stable firing position. That includes proper body position, sight alignment, and a good natural point of aim. Once you have properly mounted your Aimpoint, it should be fairly close right out of the box (on paper at 25 meters). You can also co-witness your Aimpoint to your Iron Sights, if you already have them zeroed. By this I mean, line up your iron sights on the bullseye and hold them on target, while your partner dials your red dot to your sight picture using the windage and elevation adjustments on the Aimpoint. This works most of the time. Sometimes, if you are running a tall mount to clear illuminators/lasers, your Aimpoint’s objective lens may be slightly too high for this technique but, again, it works most of the time. Whether you zero at 25, 50, or 100 meters; I don’t care. There are pros and cons of each, and we actually cover them in a different video (25 vs 50 meter Zeros). For this video we used 50 meters. Use a good zero target. You can download them for free all over the internet or design your own. Just make sure they print to scale. I like a big dark circle with a dot in the middle for zeroing red dot sights. Dim the dot till you can just barely see it. This will give you a small point of aim. We like to zero with 3-5 round groups. I actually prefer 5 round groups, as I’ll cover in a later video, but that would have added 5 more seconds to an already long YouTube video. Seriously… that’s what I get told by the film crew.

Adjustments (clicks) will depend on the distance that you are shooting at.
    1 click = ⅛ inch at 25 yards
    1 click = ¼ inch at 50 yards
    1 click = ½ inch at 100 yards
Make your adjustments and repeat. Again, fire another group, mark target, and adjust the Aimpoint scope as needed. Too Easy. Once you are dead center, pop a few more shots just to make sure, and then you’re done, right? Close. Once you are zeroed, always try to go back out to distance and verify that your zero is correct. A 50 meter zero should put your 5.56mm AR rifle right on at 200 meters. So, if you have a long distance range, go out and double check your zero at 200 meters. You may find that you are slightly left/right or high/low. You can now make fine adjustments to your actual zero, 1 click = roughly 1 inch at 200 meters. Once done, now you know your rifle is dead on and you own the battlefield out to 220 meters. Thanks for watching. We’ll be doing videos for zeroing iron sights and other optics in the near future. Strength & Honor, TR.

In this highly requested video we go over the Elcan Specter DR series of riflescopes. We demonstrate both the 1x/4x and 1.5x/6x models in both a 5.56 BDC on an AR-15 and a 7.62 BDC on a Scar 17 respectively. These are very high quality, combat proven optics that excel in CQB to medium range roles but also can be used for very precise shots at extended ranges as you will see in this video. Stay tuned, much more on the way.

I have an aimpoint pro, finest red dot out there, a bit heavy, some would rather have the T1 aimpoint, but that has a much smaller lens.

They didn't even mention the leupold mark AR, a scope specifically designed for modern AR style rifles, which I also have, and love.

If you own a PS90 or P90 you know that finding a solid low mount for popular red dot sights like the Trijicon MRO, RMR or Aimpoint T1/T2 Micros can be hard. All the products seem to set the optic too high. Design Machine makes what I believe is possibly the best optics mount for our favorite 5.7x28mm carbines. Check it out! We have some fun with the P90's and show you the Design Machine mounts in action.

Review: Primary Arms 2.5X ACSS Scope
    InRangeTV

    Published on Jul 25, 2017
    http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-ar...

This is our full review of the Primary Arms 2.5x scope.

Ian used this scope through a number of 2 gun events, including Hard as Hell. Karl also used it at one 2G-ACM event to ensure he could form an informed opinion of it as well.

We initially considered this optic as a potential contender as the solution for the rifle variant of our WWSD project.

We determined that this scope is not the right answer for our goals with the WWSD project but we also had a generally positive experience with this optic provided you leverage it within its proper context and functional parameters.
