It looks like oxidation. But gold doesn't oxidize. So it can't possibly be oxidation...

    or.... uh oh... nvm.

Gold may not oxidize, but the other metals in an AGE might.

How was the coin stored previously?

Can you let the seller know and exchange it?

The color looks like .9999, even the alloys in a Krug. or others should not turn that color.
I'm thinking it was next to something & transferred the color to the coin.
Have you tried a toothbrush, with a little baking soda paste, to remove it ?

Once out the door, the dealer probably won't do anything for you.

It is a brand new 1 oz AGE.
The dealer says that is is normal
Coin weight and size are correct.
The dealer is willing to exchange.
    It is a copper spot.
    I am OK with it.

If it's 24K a little nitric acid on a Q-tip should do the trick?
