What are we going to do once all the water is gone? Thanks to the worst drought in more than 1,000 years, the western third of the country is facing the greatest water crisis that the United States has ever seen. Lake Mead is now the lowest that it has ever been since the Hoover Dam was finished in the 1930s, mandatory water restrictions have already been implemented in the state of California, and there are already widespread reports of people stealing water in some of the worst hit areas. But this is just the beginning. Right now, in a desperate attempt to maintain somewhat “normal” levels of activity, water is being pumped out of the ground in the western half of the nation at an absolutely staggering pace. Once that irreplaceable groundwater is gone, that is when the real crisis will begin. If this multi-year drought stretches on and becomes the “megadrought” that a lot of scientists are now warning about, life as we know it in much of the country is going to be fundamentally transformed and millions of Americans may be forced to find somewhere else to live.

Simply put, this is not a normal drought. What the western half of the nation is experiencing right now is highly unusual. In fact, scientists tell us that California has not seen anything quite like this in at least 1,200 years…

Analyzing tree rings that date back to 800 A.D. — a time when Vikings were marauding Europe and the Chinese were inventing gunpowder — there is no three-year period when California’s rainfall has been as low and its temperatures as hot as they have been from 2012 to 2014, the researchers found.

Much of the state of California was once a desert, and much of it is now turning back into a desert. The same thing can also be said about much of Arizona and much of Nevada. We never really should have built massive, sprawling cities such as Las Vegas and Phoenix in the middle of the desert. But the 20th century was the wettest century for western North America in about 1,000 years, and we got lulled into a false sense of security.

At this point, the water level in Lake Mead has hit a brand new record low, and authorities are warning that official water rationing could soon begin for both Arizona and Nevada…

Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the US, has hit its lowest level ever. Feeding California, Nevada and Arizona, it can hold a mind-boggling 35 cubic kilometres of water. But it has been many years since it was at capacity, and the situation is only getting worse.

“We’re only at 38 percent full. Lake Mead hasn’t been this low since we were filling it in the 1930s,” said a spokeswoman for the US Bureau of Reclamation in Las Vegas.

If it gets much lower – and with summer approaching and a dwindling snowpack available to replenish it, that looks likely – official rationing will begin for Arizona and Nevada.

And did you know that the once mighty Colorado River no longer even reaches the ocean? Over 40 million people depend upon this one river, and because the Colorado is slowly dying an enormous amount of water is being pumped out of the ground in a crazed attempt to carry on with business as usual…

The Colorado River currently supplies water to more than 40 million people from Denver to Los Angeles (as well as Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe—none of which lie directly on the river). According to one recent study, 16 million jobs and $1.4 trillion in annual economic activity across the West depend on the Colorado. As the river dries up, farmers and cities have turned to pumping groundwater. In just the last 10 years, the Colorado Basin has lost 15.6 cubic miles of subsurface freshwater, an amount researchers called “shocking.” Once an official shortage is declared, Arizona farmers will increase their rate of pumping even further, to blunt the effect of an anticipated sharp cutback.

The same kind of thing is going on in the middle part of the country. Farmers are pumping water out of the rapidly shrinking Ogallala Aquifer so fast that a major crisis in the years ahead is virtually guaranteed…

Farther east, the Ogallala Aquifer under the High Plains is also shrinking because of too much demand. When the Dust Bowl overtook the Great Plains in the 1930s, the Ogallala had been discovered only recently, and for the most part it wasn’t tapped then to help ease the drought. But large-scale center-pivot irrigation transformed crop production on the plains after World War II, allowing water-thirsty crops like corn and alfalfa for feeding livestock.

But severe drought threatens the southern plains again, and water is being unsustainably drawn from the southern Ogallala Aquifer. The northern Ogallala, found near the surface in Nebraska, is replenished by surface runoff from rivers originating in the Rockies. But farther south in Texas and New Mexico, water lies hundreds of feet below the surface, and does not recharge. Sandra Postel wrote here last month that the Ogallala Aquifer water level in the Texas Panhandle has dropped by up to 15 feet in the past decade, with more than three-quarters of that loss having come during the drought of the past five years. A recent Kansas State University study said that if farmers in Kansas keep irrigating at present rates, 69 percent of the Ogallala Aquifer will be gone in 50 years.

At one time, most of us took water completely for granted.

But now that it is becoming “the new oil”, people are starting to look at water much differently. Sadly, this even includes thieves…

With the state of California mired in its fourth year of drought and a mandatory 25 percent reduction in water usage in place, reports of water theft have become common.

In April, The Associated Press reported that huge amounts of water went missing from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and a state investigation was launched. The delta is a vital body of water, serving 23 million Californians as well as millions of farm acres, according to the Association for California Water Agencies.

The AP reported in February that a number of homeowners in Modesto, California, were fined $1,500 for allegedly taking water from a canal. In another instance, thieves in the town of North San Juan stole hundreds of gallons of water from a fire department tank.

In case you are wondering, of course this emerging water crisis is going to deeply affect our food supply. More than 40 percent of all our fruits and vegetables are grown in the state of California, so this drought is going to end up hitting all of us in the wallet one way or another.

And this water crisis is not the only major threat that our food supply is facing at the moment. A horrific outbreak of the bird flu has already killed more than 20 million turkeys and chickens, and the price of eggs has already gone up substantially…

The cost of a carton of large eggs in the Midwest has jumped nearly 17 percent to $1.39 a dozen from $1.19 since mid-April when the virus began appearing in Iowa’s chicken flocks and farmers culled their flocks to contain any spread.

A much bigger increase has emerged in the eggs used as ingredients in processed products like cake mix and mayonnaise, which account for the majority of what Iowa produces. Those eggs have jumped 63 percent to $1.03 a dozen from 63 cents in the last three weeks, said Rick Brown, senior vice president of Urner Barry, a commodity market analysis firm.

Most of us are accustomed to thinking of the United States as a land of seemingly endless resources, but now we are really starting to bump up against some of our limitations.

Despite all of our technology, the truth is that we are still exceedingly dependent on the weather patterns that produce rain and snow for us.

For years, I have been warning that Dust Bowl conditions would be returning to the western half of the country, and thanks to this multi-year drought we can now see it slowly happening all around us.

The entire middle of the country has experienced unusual amounts of rain this year. It has rained every day for a week in TX, OK, KS, MO, AR. Unusual precip in CO too. The entire west is getting rain as I type. The sky is not falling. California has a water problem that is drought related.

It is going to take more than a few weeks of rain to fill up the dried up Texas lakes, many Texas lakes are dry. Water pipelines are now being planned to fill the lakes. A few of our soon to arrive summer 102 degree plus days will dry up months of rainfall in a few days.....we shall see come fall.

"As the climax of the “Shemitah” year draws near, the man who popularized the once-obscure Hebrew word sees more cause than ever for concern.

America is in for a great “shaking,” says Jonathan Cahn, author of the New York Times best-sellers “The Harbinger” and “The Mystery of the Shemitah.”

The Shemitah year began on Sept. 25, 2014, and will hit its climax on Sept. 13, 2015. That is exactly four months away, when the Hebrew calendar lands on Elul 29, the same biblical day of reckoning that brought record stock-market crashes in September 2001 and September 2008.

The Shemitah comes once every seven years and, according to Cahn, can bring blessings or judgments. For a nation that started out dedicated to God but falls into apostasy, each Shemitah year can bring progressively worse judgments until the nation repents and turns back to God, he said.

Cahn remains cautious about making any specific predictions on how the Shemitah will play out over its final four months. He emphasizes that nobody can predict with absolute clarity what will happen as August turns into September and September into October.

But as he looks into the approaching storm, here are his main concerns:

President Obama continues to foster poor relations with Israel, reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear enrichment that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has characterized as a “bad deal” for his nation’s future security.
America continues to slide into the moral abyss, embracing homosexual marriages and pushing transgenderism in the public schools. A landmark Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage is expected in June.
At the same time Obama alienates Israel, ISIS continues to rise in the Middle East and recently carried out a brazen attack on the U.S. homeland with an attempted mass shooting at a free-speech event in Garland, Texas, last week.
The FBI now says it has active investigations into ISIS sympathizers in all 50 states. ISIS claims to have 71 fighters with targets in 15 states. It has threatened to infiltrate the ranks of refugees, which continue to flood into the U.S. from the Middle East and Africa by the thousands every month. Many are coming from known terror-supporting states like Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia. Mosques are rising in cities across the U.S., and the White House Task Force on New Americans is working feverishly in cooperation with governors and mayors to lay out the welcome mat.

While Islam is on the rise, Pew Research Center released a poll this week that found a stark decline in the number of Americans who consider themselves Christian, falling 8 percentage points in just seven years. Only 70 percent now call themselves Christian, and those self-identifying as agnostic reached an all-time high of 56 million.

Cahn sees a connection between what he calls “the apostasy” or falling away from God and Judeo-Christian values, the willingness to abandon Israel and the rise of Islamic terrorism.

What do YOU think? Has America lost faith? Sound off in today’s WND poll

    A familiar enemy

“The pattern revealed in ‘The Harbinger‘ could be significant concerning America’s future,” he said.

“When ancient Israel was destroyed in 722 B.C., the agents of its destruction were the ancient Assyrians, the same ones who were responsible for inflicting a strike of terror on the nation years before. Assyria was the originator of terrorism,” Cahn told WND. “America’s first strike came on 9/11. Since America has followed the fatal pattern of ancient Israel in defiance and apostasy, since the harbingers of judgment have not stopped manifesting, I wondered whether this part of the pattern would also replay.”

That pattern is this: The same forces responsible for the first strike on ancient Israel returned years later to deliver another, more devastating attack.

In light of this pattern, Cahn sees the rise of ISIS, an outgrowth of al-Qaida in Iraq, as ominous.

“The agents of ISIS not only claim the same region as that of the ancient Assyrians, but they practice the exact same acts as savagery, mutilation of their victims, beheadings, and the publicizing of these acts to inspire terror throughout the world,” Cahn said. “The fact that America is now engaged again with the agents of terror, and in the days of its deepening apostasy from God is doubly ominous.”

What’s this Shemitah business all about? Get an easy-to-understand briefing on the biblical concept of seven-year cycles from WND’s free e-book primer.

And Cahn is not the only Christian leader who sees judgment on the horizon for America. Many others, from Franklin Graham to James Dobson to Joel Richardson have all spoken out with words of warning in recent months.

This week a new voice, Ann Graham Lotz, daughter of the Rev. Billy Graham, added her name to the list.

Lotz issued a “Mayday” alert for Americans to engage in a week of steadfast prayer and intersession for the country May 15-23. She believes the U.S. is careening headlong toward judgment “and it’s going to be ugly,” she wrote on her website.......

The "drought forecast" map is current, forecasts to July 31, 2015, as is the Texas map, 5/15/2015. Do not confuse short term with long term, rain for a week or two (even a month) does not replenish aquafers.....much will also depend on how hot this summer will be. The "outdated" map from 1934 illustrates what happened during the last dust bowl, which started in a Shemitah year, 1931 ( it took a few years to culminate).Shemitah dictates intensities and frequencies increase. Short term and long term are two different animals, get back with us in the fall (time will tell)....glad to see you following. Keep us posted.

Bark Beetles.....??? Shemitah dictates problems increase in intensity and frequency.....I am sure they will find enough water to douse the flames....

    http://www.reuters.com/video/2015/0...ed-cali?videoId=364228887&videoChannel=118169

As if the California drought weren't bad enough for these trees in Los Padres National Forrest ... ... there's ANOTHER trouble to worry about.. (nats man pulls open bark) MILLIONS of trees already weakened by the drought are being killed by bark beetles. You can see the dead trees from the air... (aerial) ... large patches of red .. the tell-tale sign of a blighted forrest. Tom Coleman is a forest entomologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. (SOUNDBITE) (English) TOM W. COLEMAN, FOREST ENTOMOLOGIST FOR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) FOREST SERVICE, CHOPPING AT DEAD TREE WITH AN AXE, SAYING: "So this tree has been dead about a year, just see how dry it is, the populations have already gone, but see how easily the bark flips off." By 'population', he means the bark beetle. They thrive under these warm, dry conditions, and they've infested the state's forests. Under normal conditions, bark beetles can be GOOD for overall forest health, attacking largely just the dead, dying or diseased trees. But under the current drought? Even healthy trees don't have the strength to fight them off -- and so large swaths of "tree mortality" occur ... over 12 million trees in California this year -- gone. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ) TOM W. COLEMAN, FOREST ENTOMOLOGIST FOR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) FOREST SERVICE, SAYING: "And that's my worst case scenario, that it's not going to fall off naturally but that it will continue as long as the drought continues." The problem doesn't end just there. All those dead trees are brittle FUEL for forest fires. Officials are working hard to remove the decimated trees from roadways and campgrounds ... so that TWO problems for California's forests don't become THREE."......and four, five.......

Wasn't '88 a Shemitah year? Weren't those intense fires in Yellowstone in '88?

Speaking of Yellowstone, new estimate of the size of the magma chamber/pool beneath Yellowstone is staggering. Said to be 11,000 cubic miles worth, enough to fill the entire Grand Canyon 11 times over!

"A female patient with an extremely hard-to-treat form of tuberculosis is being treated at the National Institutes of Health outside Washington D.C., and federal and state officials are now tracking down hundreds of people who may have been in contact with her.

The woman traveled to at least three states before she sought treatment from a U.S. doctor. While TB is not easily caught by casual contact, extensively drug resistant (XDR) TB is so dangerous that health officials will have to make a concerted effort to warn anyone who may be at risk.

"The patient was transferred to the NIH via special air and ground ambulances," the NIH said in a statement.

"THE PATIENT WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE NIH VIA SPECIAL AIR AND GROUND AMBULANCES."
"The patient is staying in an isolation room in the NIH Clinical Center specifically designed for handling patients with respiratory infections, including XDR-TB. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH, is providing care and treatment for the patient in connection with an existing NIH clinical protocol for treating TB, including XDR forms. NIAID has treated other XDR-TB patients in the past under this protocol," the NIH said.

These special isolation rooms usually control air flow to prevent germs from escaping into the rest of the hospital or outside...."The patient traveled in April from India to the United States through Chicago O'Hare airport," the CDC said in a statement provided to NBC News.

"The patient also spent time in Missouri and Tennessee. Seven weeks after arriving in the United States, the patient sought treatment for and was diagnosed with active TB."

She was isolated in a suburban Chicago hospital before she was sent to NIH.

CDC and NIH are testing the patient to see what drugs may help her.

"Besides concerns about community contacts, the patient flew from India to the United States. CDC will obtain the passenger manifest for that flight from the airline and will begin a contact investigation. Although the risk of getting a contagious disease on an airplane is low, public health officers sometimes need to find and alert travelers who may have been exposed to an ill passenger," CDC said.

CDC takes these cases very seriously. In 2007 Andrew Speaker, an Atlanta lawyer with multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis, was arrested and forcibly isolated under federal order after he defied CDC advisories and flew out of the country to get married."

He does well to talk about everything but the Shemitah " cycle". Shemitah is not prophecy, nor " the end of times"( as he writes about), it is a cycle that he dismisses as " None of this coincidence confirms or builds faith. " How many times does " coincidence" have to occur before it is considered fact? Time will tell.

You confuse surface water with water table. Oregon has just expanded its drought emergency. Sections of the middle west have filled reservoirs with the recent record flooding....as of June 9th. Washington, Idaho and Oregon are going drier, the mid west and Texas has improved.Arizona is unchanged.

You can't get there from here.
You don't need religion to understand that things work in cycles. It's a well-studied phenomenon. I can't speak for Sanders, but what I got out of it is that people like you are being conned. I agree with him on some points he made. Yes, he wrote more about the "wrong turn" that so many US Christians have taken, than your pet Rabbi's book. Back to Armstrong.

Now we go into the effects of no water, record temps, flame on....my PR friend has also stated the island's water reservoirs are about dried up, the Caribbean, Central and South America are also facing the same "historic" event. Biblically speaking, drought precedes the famine.

"A torrid heat wave is now shifting into high gear and has already broken at least five June record highs in the Northwest. Additional June or even all-time high-temperature records will be in jeopardy across parts of the Great Basin and Northwest for the rest of the month. Furthermore, the extreme heat is likely to last well into early July and may end up breaking records for longevity as well.

Notice the most current drought conditions, expanding, looks like a map of ISIS.

How is your map measuring drought? I can't speak for California, although I do agree it is bad and the wAter is severely low. However the color coded chart for Arizona does not appear to be accurate. How to they measure the different colored drought labels?

    Dear CIGAs,

Often times I like to write about an event or someone else’s article because of the importance to the overall picture. Today I will do something a little different. Below is an e-mail I received last Thursday from a friend. I have the utmost respect for his thought process and his knowledge. The writer is "plugged in" if you will, he has very high and powerful contacts in both China and London while he operates out of North America. The following is chilling to say the least because it comes from someone who "knows", it is not a speculation on his part because he is seeing it real time! I will add my comments afterward.

"I have been pounding the drum for some time about shrinking liquidity and what the impact will be. Well, I can tell you that we are almost there and a real crisis is developing far faster than what I envisioned that is impacting the 75 Trillion Shadow Banking sector which is on the verge of implosion. Focus on Europe as the real crunch will spread like a wildfire from there seizing up all credit markets.

We will ignore China and the BRIC for the time being as to impact and focus on the European Ponzi that the bankers have brought to the table.

The specific area we should keep an eye on is the U.S./bund 10yr yield spread, currently quoted at 155bp. This spread will start taking its lead from the euro, so when that starts to lose favor keep sharp eye out for the next shoe to drop.

Asian shares were very volatile today, Shanghai in particular, trading with a 10% variation (daily low to high) today as PBOC were active again. In Europe we did see small gains intraday in DAX and CAC but neither could hold on and actually closed well into negative territory both down over 1%. UK FTSE never got into the green all day and closed -1.5%. Even seasoned Traders are scared now about intra day swings and being caught in a downdraft at closing. Banks are tightening the leash on trading lines to reduce exposure which is sure to castrate liquidity of bonds.

Credit markets are almost closed, I am being told! I REPEAT again the CREDIT markets are almost closed! Trades are happening by appointment and to even move 1MM EM bonds (at an opening price) is almost impossible. It is not uncommon to hear an indication only to trade and a 2% trade away from from opening, assuming you are able to trade, and desire to trade is no guarantee of a sale. NO ONE is standing up to market prices and to liquidate even a small portfolio can take weeks. It is important that you cannot any longer trade the basis as value is dropping and there no point to partially selling specific bonds unless you can clear a given position! Because once there is a traded price ALL holders of same or similar will have to remark the book. That is unless you are a bank where the Balance Sheet is not a Mark-to-Market approach on a daily basis for the book being held. Think holding government debt at par for the likes of Italy or Spain knowing they can never clear the debt, and knowing that no one will buy at market. So what is the true value of a large portfolio? Do you hang on getting interest while it is still being paid or do you attempt to go to cash? And if you do who is going to step into your shoes ? Especially since the banks are all trying to save cash and want no exposure of any kind. We maybe approaching the point where central banks are losing credibility and their ability to contain the fallout, when governments are so badly in debt they are powerless and rudderless in a sea of chaos.

We are coming very close to complete chaos that will make 2008 look like a walk in the park! We will be fortunate if we make fall without a real financial disaster!.."

Absolution of credit ( debt), perfect. These new developements promise to go global. The third time a " charm"?...2001, 2008, 2015. They have already exceeded the last Shemitahs top " victim", Lehman Brothers....it appears Sept /October the US gets its turn in the barrel. Keep your sights set on 9-11-2015 ( 29 Elul falls on 9/13, Sunday)....right on schedule, much, much more to follow.

All jokes aside...you're onto something. I think you're right.

It's not just 2001 and 2008. Go back 7 years from 2001 and that brings us to the bond market bubble that burst in 1994. 7 years prior to that - the infamous "black Monday" stock market crash in 1987. 7 years before that...the silver market crash when silver went from $50/oz to $10/oz in 1980. Go back another 7 years....1973 - the oil crisis.

Every 7 years since the creation of Israel there has been a major crisis. We are now on the cusp of the 49th year. The 7th 7-year cycle.

I think you are right about a major meltdown the second half of this year....and the signs are certainly emerging.

    Brace yourself..

Brace yourself for more unexpected surprises. The whole theory of Shemitah is " judgement". I know many here do not see the God angle, I do. Perfect absolution of debt/ credit and perfect judgement dictates no one in the US " profits". What this means, those that correctly saw the signs of impending financial meltdown and invested in PM's will not be " allowed" to profit. All participate in the " suffering". Gold and silver may be demonized, taxed, and maybe even outlawed by new laws and regulations making PM investment not very attractive. During a meltdown, gold may hit $5,000 or more, but if it is taxed at 38 or more percent, or worse, made illegal to trade in the US, it will be a wash. Time will tell. Many here do not recall Ford ended the ban on gold in the US in 1974, ...40 years of the ban on US ownership before it was lifted.Who may reinstate it? ...and for what reasons? The signs of current demonization are everywhere, just say'in.

    "1974
President Gerald Ford repealed all sanctions against U.S. citizens owning or selling gold to anyone they wished. Gold essentially became a commodity and was now listed on the New York Commodity Stock Exchange."

    http://www.tchistory.org/TCHISTORY/Gold_Timeline.htm

"The United States Gold Reserve Act of January 30, 1934 required that all gold and ... made it a criminal offense for U.S. citizens to own or trade gold anywhere in the world, ... President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signs the bill into law in 1934".....and 40 years later President Ford changed that, by Executive Order.

"By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 1 of the Act of August 8, 1950, 64 Stat. 419, and section 5 (b) of the Act of October 6, 1917, as amended (12 U.S.C. 95a), and as President of the United States, and in view of the provisions of section 3 of Public Law 93-110, 87 Stat. 352, as amended by section 2 of Public Law 93-373, 88 Stat. 445, it is ordered as follows:
SECTION 1. Executive Order No. 6260 of August 28, 1933, as amended by Executive Order No. 6359 of October 25, 1933, Executive Order No. 6556 of January 12, 1934, Executive Order No. 6560 of January 15, 1934, Executive Order No. 10896 of November 29, 1960, Executive Order No. 10905 of January 14, 1961, and Executive Order No. 11037 of July 20, 1962; the fifth and sixth paragraphs of Executive Order No. 6073, March 10, 1933; sections 3 and 4 of Executive Order No. 6359 of October 25, 1933; and paragraph 2(d) of Executive Order No. 10289 of September 17, 1951, are hereby revoked.

SECTION 2. The revocation, in whole or in part, of such prior Executive orders relating to regulation on the acquisition of, holding of, or other transactions in gold shall not affect any act completed, or any right accruing or accrued, or any suit or proceeding finished or started in any civil or criminal cause prior to the revocation, but all such liabilities, penalties, and forfeitures under the Executive orders shall continue and may be enforced in the same manner as if the revocation had not been made.

This order shall become effective on December 31, 1974.

    GERALD R. FORD
    The White House,
    December 31, 1974."

    Executive order? Yes, Easy Peasy.

"It is illegal to buy or sell bullion bars anywhere except at banks that have a precious metals license, and very few have them. So if you buy or sell a gold bar from your friend or relative, you commit a criminal offense.
There are also special rules for transportation of bullion bars, and breaking them entails a prison term. Taking bullion bars out of the country is illegal. Selling and buying of foreign-made bullion bars is also illegal. To top it off, there are enormous hurdles for bullion coin importers."

Basically, gold is legal, except buying, selling, or keeping it.
Is that going to happen here?

Who knows, "success" is achieved by correctly choosing one of many probabilities. I believe you have stated a very probable outcome for the initial stages of a US meltdown, legal to own, but buying and selling becomes problematic.

One thing I need to say about the God angle....The idea of God has always been a philosophy that was driven by fear and guilt throughout millennia. Every religion that has a God in it works this way. We, as human beings, like to point to events, and the timing of those events to predict future events. Those future event predictions are always accompanied by warnings that instill fear and guilt in those that believe in them. Fear and guilt.....it's the secret sauce that makes religion such a powerful tool for those who seek control.

I personally don't buy into it. That doesn't mean I'm an evil man. It doesn't mean I don't have feelings of compassion and charity for others when I feel it's needed. It doesn't mean I don't have and show respect for those that earn it. It means I choose to think independently and will not be led by the nose by myths and lies. I see, I hear, I assess, I evaluate, then I make decisions.

If that makes me an evil man who will burn in hell some day than hey, I got it wrong!!!

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

    Proverbs 16:18

    Haughty:
Someone who is haughty is arrogant and full of pride.

    Good Luck.

I know...I think this one of those guilt proverbs...or maybe one of the fear ones....I can never keep track. I've made mistakes in my life to be sure. I've also done much good in my life and have enriched and helped many people. If that's not enough to avoid punishment for all eternity then I guess it's not. I try to imagine God as a father. As I raised my son I always demanded that he act perfectly at all times and never falter. I followed that up with a few spankings when he messed up and many many more threats of spankings to keep him in line. Of course he's human and he could never meet all those demands. I knew that and expected mistakes along the way. All I really wanted was for him to not make any of the big mistakes in life and grow up to be a good caring loving father like I felt I was. He did that so, as his Dad I'll cut him some slack and not throw him in the burning pit of fire after all.

A loving God should be the very same way!
