Short answer, NO...and yes. Many in the ME are already facing cataclysmic events, record dispersion of populations, record killings by Islamic extremists, total upheaval in the Arab world as never before recorded. As for the US, our leadership has abandoned God, the majority of the US has not. As with ancient Israel, they were given many warnings ( starting with the Assyrian attacks and ending with the Babylonian conquest) each " ratcheting up" in severity ( borders breeched, armies defeated, trade destroyed, drought, famine, financial system destroyed, civil uprising) before the final " judgement" - destruction and exile by the Babylonians. A kind and merciful creator does not kill off those that are simply ignorant ,lukewarm, or forcefully coerced by evil rulers. He kills off those that are beyond redemption, think Sodom and Gomorrah: the Biblical pattern:" evil is used to kill evil"...a severe financial " correction" will bring many more to his table than a cataclysmic event that send many straight to the " smoking section". Notice the recent increase of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, natural disasters? Notice the lack of casualties? Warnings, not judgement.
