Looking forward to the forum. Glad to see you here straw.

By the way, just as a side note. I think HL is the best mining play out there right now. Lead , Zinc,Silver and Gold make this stock look really cheap right now.

    Onward and upward.

    Strawboss,

Thank you for continuing your thread. It's one of my main reads and will continue to be so.

I've always wanted to ask, I've DYODD on IPT.v and was wondering your opinion on it. Till I accumulated this stock, I was mainly looking at AU stocks. I've tried the ETF's, but I like the fact that I can look at an actual group to evaluate how they are doing rather than just the metal.

disclosure ( I hold IPT.v, and I hold physical silver)

SVM - It is because the market is closed for Good Friday/Easter weekend. Thin aftermarket trading can cause this. Nothing to worry about.

Still trying to get acclimated to our new home here on GIM2. As I am getting older, I get more resistant to change, but, it is what it is..I am thankful to Scorpio, Skyvike and the others who have made the decision to carry on (with all the effort and expense that was involved).

Since this is a new thread on a new forum and the old stuff is no more, its a chance for a new beginning. So, lets begin with what I think is foundational.

    Why Silver?

It is my belief that silver is the lynchpin of the entire fiat based currency complex for the entire world. Yes, gold is the bigger precious metal - the one that has historically been the backing of currencies, but, silver has also been used as honest money for millenia. Silver and gold are intrinsically tied to the hip, so to speak and will continue to be.

The "mission" of TPTB is to "manage" gold, to keep it from rising in an erratic fashion, as that would cripple confidence in the fiat regimes, which would lead to all sorts of mischief and unrest. Because gold is a much larger market than silver, it is more difficult (and costly) to suppress gold.

By suppressing silver, they can actually influence what gold will do. It has worked, with varying degrees of success over the years. It is for this reason, I believe, that silver has the largest concentrated short position of any commodity on the planet - by far. This was discussed at some length last week at the CFTC hearing.

But, as with all suppression schemes, it is only viable for a while and eventually the market sniffs out the arbitrage opportunities and some well heeled traders see the lopsided short positions and the opportunity to create a squeeze.

We will see that one of these days in silver. And when we do, it will be an incredibly wild ride. My intention is to be established prior to that taking place so that the unfolding of those events can be capitalized upon.

Yes, gold is more glamorous than silver, but, silver is the key to the continuation of the fiat regimes we have all been forced to live under. TPTB know this - but, do you? TPTB understand the importance of the role of silver - hence their efforts to manipulate and suppress it. Do you?

Supporting free market discovery of silver price with no governmental interference is the pursuit of freedom - liberty - justice.

By being a supporter of silver, I am making a statement that I do NOT support governmental policy, I do NOT support the profligate spending, the debt that has been amassed, the middle class that is being destroyed, the global financial system framework that is being implemented, the implementation of technology to control and influence the masses, etc...

Here is a chart of IPT.v (Impact Silver). The chart has some good/bad to it which leaves the divination of future direction fuzzy. For example, RSI has held 40 - which you would expect in an uptrending stock, but, price has been declining and the stochastic is currently embedded below 20. The action off the fib retracement levels make me think that further downside is definitely possible - but, not assured (rising tide lifts all boats).

I have drawn what I believe to be the important support/resistance lines (other than horizontal ones).

If I was going to invest in this stock (which I am not currently), I would wait until the stochatic closes above 20 before entering.

Thanks Strawboss. Regarding the RSI on your first chart - it looks close to the plateau level that's held for at least the past 6 months. Wouldn't this portend more sideways action for now and an inability to break through the Dec. and maybe even the Jan. highs? (Of course, certain events, ie CFTC ruling or Comex failure, will negate any trend analysis.)

I have been personally recruited to join "the other site" and I will NOT be doing so. GIM has been good for me and to me. I have a great deal of respect for what has been built here, and even with the tumult of going from GIM1 to GIM2, this is still my home.

There are some that get angry because someone gets banned. From what I can tell, those that get banned pretty much ban themselves by their acitons, and have no one to blame but themselves.

I am thankful to the founders of GIM for all they have done, and this is a great opportunity for me to express my gratitude to them by remaining loyal.

    Just my opinion...

Lions, while I was reading the Silver mining report, I noticed it talks about CDE. They suck big time. CDE is a sucker.
Wheeler has run off with all the profits.

Stick a cork in it Wheeler. I sold CDE at $23. I sold again from $13 at $16. I just keep selling.

Here is a weekly view of silver. I am thinking we may get to $30 in this move while gold will get to $1350, which will give us a ratio of 45.

The time for mining equities is now. If silver hits 30 on this move, i still wouldn't dream of selling my eagles. But 30 dollar silver will send the miners to the moon.

Howard Ruff had it right .

Howard Ruff predicted the End of the World 30 years ago. Will he be right about miners flying IF Silver goes to $30 in the next 18 months? First off I think we are about to make some type of major high over the next 4-8 weeks then the big flop again. Only SLW seems to be trading "right". Until the miners can separate themselves from the major market the miners aren't any more attractive than the latest group that the den of thieves choose to run up the flag pole.

Well thanks for the charts Strawboss. I still can't find the thanks button now trying to get used to the new site.
I finally had some time to look at the charts and play around with some numbers. I also came up with a target of $27-30 for the end of this wave. However, I think that this is Large I of MAJOR THREE. I see the end of this wave at the $30 range. I also think that this will put us at a target of $108-$115 for the end of MAJOR THREE. Silver has been more volatile than gold and I think that the low of 8.88 on Large II was overblown and should have ended around 13.5. Regardless it does not change the overall picture. See the charts and EWV counts that I put together.

Note that I don't believe we have finished Large Wave I for several reasons. We have only been in the uptrend for 400 days much less than the over first waves. In addition, the correction was not large enough to be a Large II. Finally, we never saw any type of parabolic move towards the end of the wave. That should be coming soon.:bear_thumb:

Sure Hawkeye, good to see you around again. The more the merrier but I really like it when you can find three different independent TA all pointing to the same number. Surely cannot be a bad sign.

Thank you Ted for all that you have done for all these years. I believe your analysis is spot on. The only thing I would add is that at some point, it will make economic sense to figure out a way to retrieve all the silver sitting in landfills all over the world. The only question is what price will make that extraction profitable...

Thanks! I learned something I should have known, but I must have slept through much of 2008. :haha: Early in 2008, I posted the chart below in GIM to compare several miners. I excluded Hecla from the comparison precisely because of the risks from its substantial exposure to Venezuela. After seeing your analysis of Hecla's properties, I did more research and found that Hecla sold its Venezuela property in 2008. Although I still like PAAS and SLW best, I will have to look more closely at Hecla too.
