I've created an excel spreadsheet that I think others would find helpful.

It shows Country & Denomination, Years Minted, Gross Weight in Grams, Fineness, Net Gold Weight Grams, and Gold Weight in Troy Ounces for every gold coin that has ever been minted (as far as I can determine). Although I'm still missing the stats for a few of them.

Anyway, I've included a cell that is dynamic, where one can enter today's spot price and the melt value for the coins will automatically be calculated.

The layout above is a portion of the U.S. coins section of the spreadsheet. I was trying to show the concept here to ask if others would be interested in the spreadsheet but the data will not stay in columns no matter how I type it into the "quick reply" box.

When I run into that type of issue, I screenshot it, then put it up as a pic,

yet it certainly isn't dynamic then..........

far as I know, vbulletin doesn't have the capability to work with xcel or table formats

I have a few similar spreadsheets I use for general reference and coin shows and another one for the eBay deals thread when there are eBay bucks offers. You can do tables on this forum, but I have been unable to make them dynamic......

Go advanced, copy and paste your data in from Excel. Highlight the data pasted, click Table Properties, choose full grid under table style if so desired. The alignment option seems to only move the entire table left, center or right, not the data in each field. Align your data in Excel before copying (still doesn't always carry over). You can insert working links as well, as I do in the eBay thread for a quick link to the deal on each coin......

Well Jerry, you've nailed the layout. But like you said, there's no way to make it dynamic. In the excel spreadsheet all one has to do is type today's spot price in the cell that currently shows $1284.70 and the melt values for all the coins automatically adjust.

I've compiled just shy of 2,500 gold coins from throughout the world. I do not have full/complete info for some coins from Brunei, China, India, Iran, Netherlands, Switzerland and Transylvania. Mostly missing years minted, but actual weights for some of them.

Nobody in their right mind would sell many of them for melt value, but after compiling the list of coins and their weights, it just seemed like a logical exerise to do something with all that data.

Another way is to export it as .jpg file. But again it isn't dynamic.

OK, this formatting probably worked with VB. I know it works in SMF, but doesn't seem to work with XenForo.

i did a excel spread sheet with similar parameters as your doing ...i added a user multiplier on each item which i called "premium" ...point was i wanted to be able to assign rare coins a premium over spot value and have that added to the total....

i use mine for inventory and value......i can change the spot price and it updates everything etc..

Sounds as if you'll need to create a website and embed the excel sheet.

Then you can share the link?

Here's one idea with MSFTs One Drive

Better Ways to Embed Tables and Spreadsheets in Web Pages

Don't know if this will work here, but worth a look see...

That would always be the best way, even if the software says it supports tables, there still are errors.

I know someone who uses google doc's and then links to the spread sheet. I don't use google anything so I don't know if it is interactive or not.
