I watched a lot of early SNL. Like the "Pepsi Syndrome" and the one about the Iranian hostages. In the last decade or more, I think SNL is like a battered housewife. "I know the show is not funny, but maybe this time it will be good..." No, it is not good. It is bad. The musical "guests" are ALWAYS shit. And the skits are not funny. SNL has become a scab on the skin cancer of entertainment.
Details, please? I have read many RT articles, and I do not see any issues with their reporting. But I will change my attitude with new facts.

I have to agree with "Someone else" about SNL.The show nowadays is seldom funny and I turn it on in the hope that "tonights episode" will be different. The musical guests are NEVER worthwhile. It seems as if SNL has run its coarse. It is amazing that it has been on TV for as long as it has.The tone-deaf political
leanings are out of step with the current atmosphere among most of former watchers. It may be time to retire the show.

    Hypocrisy on Election Interference
    By John Mueller
    Share
In his press conference last month, President Barack Obama sternly voiced concern about “potential foreign influence in our election process.”

The goal may be a valid one, but it cloaks hypocrisy of staggering proportions. The United States has been assiduously intervening in foreign elections for decades—perhaps even for centuries.

The central issue in the 2016 election was with some hacked emails, published by Wikileaks, indicating that some top members of the Democratic National Committee were rooting for Hillary Clinton to win their party’s nomination for president. This seems to have been the extent of the “interference,” and there has been a concerted effort to suggest that Russian hackers were the source of the information, a contention Wikileaks has strongly and repeatedly denied.

The revelations can scarcely have come as much of a surprise to anybody following the campaign, and it seems highly unlikely that they swung many votes—my guess, erring on the high side, would be perhaps six or seven.

The American record in election interference (always, of course, with the best of intentions) is much more extensive.

Exhibit number one is surely the Italian election of 1948 in which the CIA furnished a million dollars to congenial parties and may have published forged letters designed to discredit leaders of the Communist Party. Meanwhile, there was a concerted effort to get Italian-Americans to write home urging relatives and friends to vote the right way.

In more recent times, I remember talking with a member of the political opposition in Serbia in 2001 who expressed his appreciation for funds that had been supplied the year before by agencies of the U.S. government—“we never would have been able to launch such an extensive campaign without it.”

As a public service, Michael Brenner of the University of Pittsburgh, has, with a little help from his friends, provided a list of countries where the United States has intervened in elections (he points out that the U.S. has also participated in a number of coups, but these are not included).

Going back a few decades, his list includes Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, and Portugal. More recently there have been Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia, Ukraine, Russia (especially Yeltsin’s 1995-96 campaign), Algeria, Lebanon, Palestine, Cyprus, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Yemen, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Congo and several other countries in Africa, and, in Latin America, every country multiple times including within the last fifteen years Haiti, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Columbia, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, and Argentina.

Brenner’s list is an ongoing project. It does not include Canada, and just possibly there are some Canadians who might find that omission to be unjustified.

Not sure if you remember Walter Cronkite?

Well, can you imagine him showing any bias during an election campaign?

"Hubert Humphrey is beating Richard Nixon by double digits in New Hampshire!", big shit eating grin on his face.

MSM is a big whore bath.

SNL/quit watching it after Chris Farley died. (I could tell a couple of stories about Farley and Baluchi from guys I know who bumped into them while they were out parting-maybe another time. I also knew a blach guy who was up against Eddie Murphy for 'token black' around 81. HE HATED MURPHY and could imitate him to a t.)

Anyhow, we lost 'something' around 2000.

SNL sucks. Music sucks. Culture sucks.

    We are a dying society.

What is happening now is the death throws, one last gasp of air.

I think Trump buys time, but America is not going to be great again until scourged by nuclear war.

Recovery is almost impossible for people or nations.

So enjoy this repreave while you can. Hopefully it lasts for several years.

I don't see it as depressing.

I believe the core soul of this Repiblic will survive, but like a series III cancer patient the diseased part of our nation will only respond to radical chemothearpy/radiation.

Just look around and tell me there is an easy cure.

The left is reprobate, there is no saving that.

Hope I'm wrong. America has some serious cancer.

    DNC Russian Hackers Found!
Posted on January 7, 2017 by State of the Nation

You Won’t Believe Who They Work For

“If someone steals your keys to encrypt the data, it doesn’t matter how secure the algorithms are.”

    Dmitri Alperovitch, founder of CrowdStrike.

    By the Anonymous Patriots
    SOTN Exclusive

Russians did not hack the DNC system, a Russian named Dmitri Alperovitch is the hacker and he works for President Obama. In the last five years the Obama administration has turned exclusively to one Russian to solve every major cyber-attack in America, whether the attack was on the U. S. government or a corporation. Only one “super-hero cyber-warrior” seems to “have the codes” to figure out “if” a system was hacked and by “whom.”

Dmitri’s company, CrowdStrike has been called in by Obama to solve mysterious attacks on many high level government agencies and American corporations, including: German Bundestag, Democratic National Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the White House, the State Department, SONY, and many others.

Top U.S. spy chief says it's possible Russia could plant child porn on American computers
    • Director of National Intelligence James Clapper made his comments during a hearing into Russian cyber attacks during the US election
    • During the hearing, held by the Senate Intelligence Committee, Clapper said he believes Russia is still engaged in cyber operations
    • He said he's confident that Russia hacked DNC emails and believes the country has tried to influence a 'couple of dozen' elections in different countries
    • He also said he 'wouldn't put it past' Russia to plant child porn on computers belonging to US citizens

'I think it was Russia': Trump admits Moscow was behind election hacking - but says other countries do it, too
    • Trump said for the first time that he believes Russia ordered hacks on Democrats
    • He recoiled later and said, 'Well, you know what, it could have been others, also'
    • Condemned the hacking at a news conference yet praised the information it resulted in about Hillary Clinton
    • Said Vladimir Putin will stop hacking the U.S. when he's president
    • Also said he hopes to get along with his Russian counterpart, though he might not, and sees Putin's support as an 'asset'

Democrats' Senate leader hints at intelligence revenge plot on Trump as he says 'they have six ways from Sunday to get back at you'
    • Top Senate Democrat said last week that Trump was 'dumb' to take on spy agencies that have the ability to hurt him
    • 'Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday to get back at you,' he told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow
    • Trump got burned today by a leak of that caliber; he says all the information in a dossier or dirt allegedly held by Russia is untrue
    • Furious Trump called it 'fake news' and slammed intelligence agencies for allowing it to 'leak' into public'
    • Reports of the document's existence surfaced on CNN on evening before Trump held major press conference
    • Buzzfeed admitted the documents were unverified and contained clear errors - but published it anyway

If, as POTUS his own agencies can hurt him "six ways from Sunday", what's that say about who's really in charge? Yet they all just accept it as though that's the way it's supposed to be. Thomas Jefferson would be soooo ashamed of them.

Just to be clear... Russia didn't hack the election.

    That's the MSM mantra agenda.

Someone hacked the DNC and exposed them and all their lies.

Everyone is attempting to blame the Russians for election hacking - thus Trump's presidency is illegitimate - when nothing could be further from the truth.

If only they spent as much time investigating Obama and all his bona fides, we'd be in better shape as a country.

Intelligence chief calls Trump after his fury at spies over fake dossier: President-elect says James Clapper got in touch to 'denounce false and fictitious report'
    • Trump says James Clapper phoned him about 'illegally circulated' document full of 'phony facts'
    • President-elect's tweet does not make clear if bitter split with intelligence community is healed
    • Clapper said he conveyed his 'dismay' to Donald Trump during a discussion on Wednesday evening
    • He said that the media had obtained the document before the U.S. intelligence community had seen it
    • The U.S. intelligence community neither created nor leaked the document, Clapper promised
    • But he did not address whether spy sources had disclosed that version was prepared for Trump's team
    • Disclosure that it was among preparation documents for briefing to him allowed Buzzfeed to publish it
    • NBC News reports that a summary was given to Trump transition officials - but in Washington D.C.
    • It was presented in secure room so could not be taken out of it or discussed elsewhere

After Internal Investigation, Trump Says He Caught U.S. Intelligence Sources Leaking Info

    #FakeNews dossier on Russian influence.

If you recall, the Washington Post - which was privy to the CIA assessment on Russian hacking for their Trump hit piece on December 9th (10 days before the electoral college vote), also broke the story that the President-elect was skipping his intelligence briefings, according to "U.S. Officials").

In an effort to try and find the source of the leaks, Trump conducted his own "sting" on intelligence officials by ruling out moles within his own staff - including his personal assistant Rhona Graff, by not telling anyone about an upcoming intelligence briefing. When reports of the meeting later emerged in the press, Trump concluded that the leaks couldn't have come from anywhere other than the intelligence community:

The meeting was held. They left, and immediately the word got out that I had a meeting. So, I don’t want that. It’s very unfair to the country. It’s very unfair to our country what’s happening...

...I think it's pretty sad when intelligence reports get leaked out to the press. These are classified meetings and reports.

Trump then finished his point by referring to the 35-page hoax dossier leaked to Buzzfeed:

That report should have never been printed, because it's not worth the paper it's written on. Let me tell you, that should never, ever happen.

Prior to this exchange towards the end of the press conference, Trump made clear the "vital" importance of US intelligence - highlighting his recent picks for key positions within intel agencies (Mike Pompeo as director of the CIA and Dan Coats as director of National Intelligence), leaving many to surmise that the President-elect is referring to a specific opposition element within the intelligence community - perhaps tied to the outgoing administration and it's vast spider web of power.

For those who caught what Dr. Steve Pieczenik said in November (Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under Kissinger and several others, expert in foreign policy, international crisis management and psychological warfare, terrorism expert, and guy who helped negotiate US-Soviet Arms deals under Reagan - AKA high level operator and the inspiration for Jack Ryan), perhaps we are witnessing the last act in the Assange-assisted counter-coup in the form of a desperate and reaching 35 page Hail Mary, which included lascivious and obscene tales woven by what may turn out to be the biggest troll the world has ever known.

Is intelligence community plotting revenge on Trump for attacking it? High-profile critic of spies says there's 'open warfare' between the CIA and president-elect
    • Glenn Greenwald says there's an 'obvious open warfare' between the intelligence community and Trump that's becoming 'quite dangerous'
    • Democrats are cheering it on because they're 'hoping' the CIA will 'undermine and subvert and destroy the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s presidency'
    • Trump has accused the intelligence community of passing a dossier of dirt - that he says is full of fake news - to the media to hamstring his administration
    • Greenwald says he thinks it was the Hillary Clinton-supporting CIA, too; CIA wanted Clinton to win, not Trump, he said

If I were him, the instant I was inaugurated, I'd make an announcement that all of them are fired. How can the prez do his job if his own departments are "at war" with him? They sound like traitors, to me.

REVEALED: Trump says he would lift Obama's Russia sanctions if Kremlin helped US battle terrorism - and says he's ready to meet Putin after inauguration
    • Trump said he may lift the restrictions Obama placed against Russia
    • This depends on if Putin is helpful in achieving US goals, he told the WSJ
    • The sanctions were Obama's response to Russia's alleged election hacking
    • This follows the Senate's investigation into links between Moscow and presidential campaigns after fears they influenced the election with DNC leaks

CIA chief fires a new salvo in spies' feud with Trump: John Brennan accuses Donald of risking national security, calls his tweets 'outrageous' and says he doesn't have a 'full understanding' of the Russian threat
    • Outgoing CIA Director John Brennan said that Trump needed to be 'mindful' when talking about easing sanctions against Russia
    • Brennan sat down with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday and suggested that Trump didn't have a full understanding of the Russia threat

    You're fired.

I'm almost sick of winning already. Trump kicks ass as a private citizen with a cell phone. Can't wait to see what he does in a real oval office.

'Was this the leaker of Fake News?' Trump goes for the jugular and asks his 20M Twitter followers if outgoing CIA boss John Brennan was behind Russian dirty dossier leak - hours after spy chief told him to watch his tongue
    • Donald Trump lashed out at CIA director John Brennan on Twitter on Sunday

"The Don" might want to have a talk if he needs some help cleaning things up........

    During World War II

U.S. Naval Intelligence entered into an agreement with Lucky Luciano to gain his assistance in keeping the New York waterfront free from saboteurs after the destruction of the SS Normandie.[63] This spectacular disaster convinced both sides to talk seriously about protecting the United States' East Coast on the afternoon of February 9, 1942. While it was in the process of being converted into a troopship, the luxury ocean liner, Normandie, mysteriously burst into flames with 1,500 sailors and civilians on board. All but one escaped, but 128 were injured and by the next day the ship was a smoking hulk. In his report, twelve years later, William B. Herlands, Commissioner of Investigation, made the case for the US government talking to top criminals, stating "The Intelligence authorities were greatly concerned with the problems of sabotage and espionage ... Suspicions were rife with respect to the leaking of information about convoy movements. The Normandie, which was being converted to war use as the Navy auxiliary Lafayette, had burned at the pier in the North River, New York City. Sabotage was suspected."[64]
