    Lane Snapper Mania
    SaltyKayak

    Published on Feb 7, 2017
The conditions were just good enough for us to head out to a natural area about 15 miles from the Inlet. In the past, we have caught Triggers, Black Sea Bass, Vermilion Snapper and when the water was warmer, Cobia and Mahi at this spot.
As you can see from the video, the conditions went from borderline too bad and got better as the morning wore on. Of course we caught a nearly innumerable amount of Red Snapper but we were surprised at the Lane Snapper that began to bless the cooler as well.

Urban Fishing for Big Blue Catfish - Washington DC, February 2017
    Sea-Money Fishing

    Published on Feb 9, 2017
Fished with Catterman (his channel- http://bit.ly/2kEYD8G) for Blue Cats for the 2nd time in my life, we used fresh cut gizzard shad for bait and caught a number of Blues, with only the 4 decent ones included in this video, we didn't have a scale for the first few fish, that first one that catterman caught was definitely closer to 30lbs. In the grand scheme of Blue cats, 20-30lb fish are not that big, although as far as winter fishing opportunites go as a Philly person, I was very happy to hook into a few fish that size.

    We used 8/0 circle hooks
    Fresh shad for bait
My rod in this video is a 9'6 shimano tiralejo 1-3oz
Reel is a Penn Clash 5k
    Line is 30lb Sufix 832

Not sure what catterman's rods/rigs were but regardless, everything worked.

Catch and Cook and Camp Episode 2: WILD TROUT!!
    Fisherman's Life

    Published on Feb 9, 2017
Needed to get away from the city and found the perfect chance for a catch and cook. This time a wild trout with beautiful orange meat. Besides cooking the fresh fish, I got a chance to try a few different fishing techniques. How I caught the fish was with a size 8 hook, 3 split shots and a night crawler as bait.
    ...
I used butter, salt, pepper, mesquite seasoning and that's it for the fish. It was delicious! Best pan fried fish I've ever ate!

Catch & Cook Ep 2: YELLOW PERCH
    EliasVFishing

    Published on Feb 12, 2017
Did some ice jigging and it started out ridiculously slow man. A few dink perch got me started along with pickerel. Eventually I hit one or two holes near each other and picked at 4 good yellow perch and put back a few around 10/11". Biggest perch this day was 13.5"

I just drilled as many holes as possible. Jigged them for a few minutes then moved on. The lake was pretty flat with scattered weed beds, no more than 7 feet deep.

I jigged with a 1/8 oz Rapala Ice Jig, 5lb Fireline Ice braid and 6lb leader. Easy stuff and lots of fun.

Brought the fish back to the house and fried them with flour, pepper, salt. Easily one of my favorite eating fish and most def 5 out of 5 stars.

Most ABSURD Fishing Lure?? The "Chandelier" Alabama Rig -- 9 Swimbaits
    1Rod1ReelFishing

    Published on Feb 15, 2017
Fishing with some of the craziest Alabama rigs that I've ever seen, we fished the cold side of Lake Anna in hopes of finding some striped bass. Matt and I fished the standard A-rigs while Wyatt pulled out his special "chandelier" rig, and although I was skeptical at first, I was taught a lesson on why more baits are better on this particular body of water...

February 16, 2017 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr.
    The Fisherman Magazine

    Published on Feb 17, 2017
Not long after last week's video forecast was posted, just as snow began to fall along the Jersey Coast, we received good reports on short stripers whacking plastics and small swimmers in the Ocean County surf. So while most casters have been anxiously awaiting the March 1 striped bass opening in the back bays and creeks of the Garden State, suddenly the question is, are there enough fish to be had along the beach right now to make a three-hour surf shift worth the effort? Perhaps you can discuss that and more with fellow surf fishermen this Saturday, February 18 at Surf Day at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ - be sure to stop by The Fisherman booth for details on special offers from Star & Yo-Zuri at this surfcasters exclusive show in Monmouth County. We'll also be out at the New Jersey Boat Sale and Expo in Edison this week, presenting seminars in conjunction with the Recreational Fishing Alliance everyday through Sunday. The local fishing seminars get underway on Thursday, February 16 at 2 p.m. with The Fisherman's Jim Hutchinson, Jr. talking up stripers & bunker for the spring and fall run. Best bet for a tug on the line this weekend, the final days of winter action with porgies and blackfish off the coast, while white perch action has intensified in the local creeks, lagoons and canals.

February 16, 2017 Long Island Metro Fishing Report with Fred Golofaro
    The Fisherman Magazine

    Published on Feb 17, 2017
Spring can not get here soon enough as another week of skimpy reports with little or no action has anglers anxiously looking forward to a weekend with light winds and calm seas, and that may be just what's in store for us this Saturday and Sunday. The marine forecast is currently calling for winds of around 10 knots and seas from two to three feet both days. While it's still a ways off, Monday, President's Day, is also looking like it might be fishable for anyone wanting to give cod a try. The last cod reports were filed on the weekend, and no boats were able to get out the early part of this week due to the gale force winds.

The Viking Starship sailed Saturday and Sunday with poor results, after a banner day of fishing on Tuesday's trip. The Capt. Al picked some cod on Saturday in 65 to 75 feet of water but isn't planning on sailing again until tomorrow (Friday). Herring action has been on a downhill slide and white perch have been slow to get going. The most dependable action has been coming from the confines of Connetquot River State Park Preserve where the trout fishing has been consistently good on the lower half of the river.

If fishing is not in your plans this weekend, consider spending some time at the NYSF Forum & Auction at the Freeport Recreation Center in Freeport. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The big auction follows the close of the show at 2:30.

February 16, 2017 New England Fishing Report with Toby Lapinski
    The Fisherman Magazine

    Published on Feb 17, 2017
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in Hartford this past weekend. It was tough weather-wise but attendance was still very good and it was a great show as always.

Now coming up this weekend, we finish up in Boston as the New England Boat Show continues all week and ends on Sunday the 19th. You can find The Fisherman at booth number 470, see you there!

And last up before we get into the reports, something a little different for you. Local CT fisherman and self-proclaimed “fishing hip hop artist” Mike Morazzini drops his second full-length, all-fishing-themed album this Friday. Mike writes his clean, pumped up hip/hop music entirely about fishing. Even if it is not your preferred music style, the words are easily relatable and recognizable by fishermen everywhere. Check out a little story I posted on our website about him and his music, and be sure to check out his new album Droppin’ Lines, due out this Friday. I’ll also have a short promo clip posted in the story on Friday so be sure to check back.

    Connecticut
    • The beginning of last week started off pretty good for local anglers as ice was forming across much of the state and a lot of the smaller, inland lakes saw safe ice form. However, with the unseasonably warm temperatures that hit us mid-week, coupled with a foot or more of snow on Thursday, much of that hard water was lost and it’s back to square one. You can still find some fishable ice in the upper corners of the state, and down along the shore open water angling for both stripers in the tidals and trout in the stocked lakes, ponds and streams has been pretty good

    Rhode Island
    • After what was described as one of the best weeks of cod fishing in recent memory, Mother Nature reversed directions and hit us with a combination of weather that included 50-plus mph winds, over a foot of snow, big seas and otherwise unfishable conditions for a good part of the last week. Looking forward to the weekend, Friday looks iffy but the forecast for Saturday though Monday looks pretty good and I got word that both the Frances and Seven B’s plan to sail so long as the weather stays on track.

    Massachusetts
    • The thought of seeing any sort of ice fishing on the Cape or over the Canal to the mainland is a laughable prospect right now, but as we’ve been telling you there are still fish to be caught. Stripers are being found in the creeks and small harbors of the area, and trout are ready, willing and eager to strike a lure or live bait in one of the many trout-stocked water bodies across the Bay State. And as I mentioned earlier, the New England Boat Show is going on all week in Boston so why not come down and check out the latest and greatest fishing boats on the market

GIANT PERCH Fishing at MAGIC LAKE
    EliasVFishing

    Published on Feb 17, 2017
Pretty stupid perch fishing on a pretty random pond. Lot of fish cut out as it gets repetitive but I kept the best of the bunch for you guys. Met up with Chris (Sea-Money) -https://www.youtube.com/user/MrCmcintee and we prospected some new stuff.

Crappie were the target at this lake but aside from one caught by Chris we worked all over for some giant perch.

It might look really easy, but when it comes to ice fishing it seems like being mobile and active can make a world of a difference at times if you are dropping these jigs down. Typically we picked one to two fish per hole tops and then had to cover more ground. Approximately 15 fish were harvested by us. Yellow perch are a delicious fish you can check out the catch and cook I did from another lake - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFwJk...

JUMBO PERCH, CRAPPIE, BASS, PICKEREL + Ice Fishing SLAM
    Sea-Money Fishing

    Published on Feb 17, 2017
In an attempt to redeem ourselves from our schroon lake depression, Elias and I went on a day trip to an unknown lake in the rural appalachain mountains looking for big Crappie, oddly enough we caught just about every other kind of fish and only found one crappie. The best part was the fat jumbo perch, this is probably the best day of perch fishing that either of us have had anywhere, but coming from phila. and NYC thats not saying much... standard ice fishing presentations of small leadhead jigs and spoons tipped with waxworms and minnows were what we used. There are many small lakes and ponds such as this one that exist in the more rural areas, doing some searching off the beaten path and especially finding lakes that have no info online are usually the ones to fish, opposed to the more known and more fished lakes... thanks for watching!

Catch And Cook - Candied Smoked Blackfin Tuna + Bonus Snacks.

Catch And Cook - Candied Smoked Blackfin Tuna + Bonus Snacks.
I was originally going to do a Catch and Cook with a Almaco Jack, but since I had to dispatch and waste that Amberjack that got tail bitten, I figured I would let that last Almaco go and use the Blackfin Tuna that I was going to give away. Since this is a two day process, I kept one filet and attempted a avocado sushi roll, but after failing, I made a Thai Sashimi Slaw.

For the Candied Smoked Tuna, I used a recipe similar to what is called Indian Candy Smoked Salmon popular in the North-West. A fairly simple recipe using a dry brine consisting of 4 parts brown sugar and 1 part salt. Layering the thick cut pieces and covering them in the dry brine. That is left in the refrigerator for 12 hours to a full day. After that, the pieces are washed off with water and then laid out on a drying rack for an hour or two as a pellicle develops. After that, four hours in the smoker with low heat with a final topping of a honey/water mixture to add some sweetness. Store in a paper bag in the refrigerator. Vacuum seal for longer storage.

Winter Walleye Bank Fishing Tips, Quick Dusk Bite
    Sea-Money Fishing

    Published on Feb 25, 2017
Got out for the last hour of daylight earlier this week on the upper delaware river, wasn't expecting to catch anything until maybe after dark but on my 4th cast of the evening got bit, and ended up catching 2 walleyes and lost a couple fish as well. Xraps got the most bites.. zoom fluke got one fish too. Thought for sure the bite would be better after dark but fished into the night until about 7pm and it went stone cold once the sun went down. The February heat wave is making things interesting around here... Water temps are rising fast and the fishing is more typical of late march or early april than February.

The Delaware River is known to produce Walleyes of 10-13lbs making it a world class fishery at times, however these fish I found do not portray that.. Perhaps I will do some more searching for better walleye fishing later this Winter/Spring

Fishing in Brutal Rain on the Docks, Catch N Cook - VLOG #16
    BlacktipH

    Published on Feb 28, 2017
I decided to go dock fishing with Kevin and Warren in a massive storm with brutal rain to catch some fish that we could later cook and eat. This storm was literary the size of Florida, with hours of rainfall. If we didn't have our Frogg Toggs rain gear, we would have been miserable. This is our first official "Catch N Cook" video.

My Very First Largemouth Bass Fishing Trip, Summer 2016
    Johnny Bui Fishing

    Published on Mar 1, 2017
Throwback to the hot summer day where I tried my hand at Bass fishing. Using the Zoom Fluke, Ended up catching 2 bass on this trip. Saw a huge wake moving around in the water and it turned out to be a pretty good sized snakehead. Got it to commit but it didn't stay on long enough and it broke my line. Determined to catch my very first snakehead this year in 2017. This video was made a couple days before my other bass video.

Kayak Fishing: BIG Peacock & Largemouth Bass
    Robert Field

    Published on Mar 1, 2017
My roommate Mike Plainte and I linked up with Matt and Eric from Deep Blue Kayak Fishing for a day of freshwater canal fishing in southeast Florida. Deep Blue are some of my favorite guides in Florida, and they did not disappoint. Watch as all four of us absolutely kill it with nonstop action on our way to over 40 fish for the day. Among multiple big largemouth, another species gets checked off my bucket list: peacock bass.

Musky, Walleye, Bass Trifecta - 3 Musky, 1 Day
    Sea-Money Fishing

    Published on Mar 1, 2017
Every now and then, the fish gods throw you a bone... On this day I was targeting SM Bass and Walleye in the Upper Delaware River and ended up catching 3 Musky, 2 LM and a Walleye, I never catch musky, only once every few years do I maybe catch one, so to get 3 in one day was a total shock. Xraps and Tubes accounted for 3 fish each. Not big muskies by any means but as a city folk with no confidence whatsoever in catching muskies, I gotta take what I can get!

The Jerkbait I used is an Xrap 10 in black/silver
Rod is a shimano crucial 7'2 dropshot
First reel was and abu revo sx 30
    2nd Reel was a Shimano saros 2500
    10lb sufix 832

All our major Rivers contain Musky, some Purebred and some Tiger. Generally Musky fishing is a grueling labor of love, requiring hours/days of casting and running and gunning. Literally every time Ive ever targeted musky I skunk... hard. It is times like this when I least expect it that it happens. I did return to this spot to try for muskies again and not surprisingly, have not seen another.. they are truly ghosts of the river!

*The (rough) measurement I took of the first one came in at 31".... definitely not bigguns.... definitely still cool :)

Catch & Cook Ep 4: CHAIN PICKEREL
    EliasVFishing

    Published on Mar 1, 2017
Pickerel, aka slime dart. Not to be confused with northern pike either....Never kept one before and was pleasantly surprised. The few guys that swear by them are right! Great to eat!

Set out with a little bit of time on my hands fishing some new waters. Water temps dropped again and I worked some shallow stuff hoping the warm sun would warm the lake up and get a bite going. Picked a pickerel and two jumbo crappie before bringing it back to the pan.

TUNA! Catch, Clean, Cook and EAT!!!! Gabriella's Quepos, Costa Rica

There is nothing better than a fresh yellowfin tuna, straight out of the water, on ice, cleaned and cooked... slightly cooked!!! The Orange Chipolte sauce over the seared tuna was as good as it possibly gets!!!! It really makes for an amazing day when you can go offshore, catch a beautiful fish and come back to the dock and enjoy it with friends!!!!
As for cleaning any fish, a well made, sharp fillet knife makes the work so much easier! check out the knife I use the most!

Lost a Musky, Went Back in the Kayak. Caught a Bass...
    Sea-Money Fishing

    Published on Mar 8, 2017
After having some good luck with the muskies one day in the Delaware River I have now made it my goal to catch a proper sized specimen, and to also try to gain confidence in musky fishing as a whole... To this day I have never been successful as a musky fisherman but that is changing in 2017. Pretty much, I went to Marsh Creek shortly after my day in the Delaware, looking for musky (not this kayak day)... I fished miles of shoreline and ended up getting a sick bite from a nice sized fish but ended up getting bit off and losing the fish. That was all it took, now I am hooked.. I went back with the kayak one day a week or 2 later (this vid) and got totally shut out aside from one decent bass and one snagged perch...

    Kayak: Hobie revo 13
Rod: Pompano Bay 7' custom, shimano crucial 7'2, st croix mojo musky 8'
Reels: Shimano calcutta, shimano saros 2500, penn clash 4k
    Baits: Xraps, Suspending jerkbaits, bulldawg...

If you have any suggestions as to what is poppin down in tampa in the first week of april please let me know! Will be down there with kayak looking for some screaming drag..
