New silver round. This is the latest piece in an ongoing series. This new piece features a new motto "THE IXFAY IS INWAY". I wanted to use a Latin motto but "The Fix is In" doesn't cross translate directly so I used a pseudo Pig Latin version. I've also changed a few other things. The first style is still available and so far is a very low mintage. These are produced by the Intaglio Mint in Sedalia, Colorado. Designed and engraved by myself, Ron Landis.

That's awesome - how was it done?

The closest Latin phrase I can think of is IMPERIUM IN IMPERIO

or an empire within an empire

The elites who work for themselves and have become their own entrenched empire within the larger state

The first one was actually hand carved into an existing Peace Dollar. I use that coin for my avatar. <<<

But when I made dies for production, I started with blank steel dies and carved them by hand. I'm totally an old school engraver. I use small hand held gravers and cut directly into the die.. backwards. I did all the sculpting and lettering like that and you can see strikes from those master dies on another post just below this one titled "Death of Liberty" BTW, Those will be discontinued soon now that the new one is available.

Then, they made a positive hub from those master dies which I was able to clean up the engraving and removed all the lettering so that different varieties could be made. New dies were made from those cleaned up hubs which I engraved all the dates, letters and sun rays by hand. I have other plans to make another variety from those hubs which will be less political in nature.

Nickndfl, If you call the mint, you may be able to order a special made "error" piece of your choice. Just call the Intaglio Mint (number is on the website) and when the voice prompt comes on, choose to talk to Timothy Grat. He's usually glad to help on special requests like that, but don't hold me to it. They may have changed that policy.
