The Liberal Lie So Big It May One Day Split the Country

“Civilization has been aptly called a ‘thin crust over a volcano.’ (Liberals) are constantly picking at that crust.” -- Thomas Sowell

After Hollywood jackass Jimmy Kimmel was criticized for exploiting his son’s illness to push his political agenda and incorrectly insinuating that surgeries for newborns weren’t covered before Obamacare, he did a follow-up on the subject where he said, “I would like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care. It was insensitive, it was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”

Drop dead, Jimmy Kimmel, you colossal ass.

This is a great example of what may be the most annoying, dishonest thing that liberals habitually do.

Jimmy Kimmel favors a certain political policy. It’s one that has been a disaster for tens of millions of Americans, including a lot of children.

Jimmy Kimmel could have said, “Obamacare may not be perfect and it may have been sold with a lot of lies, but I believe it’s worth it for everyone else to pay more so the small percentage of the population with pre-existing conditions and no insurance can be covered.” That pitch may not be a political winner, but at least it would be an honest argument.

Instead, Kimmel is essentially arguing that ONLY people who agree with him care about the healthcare of children and the rest of us want children to die.

This sort of rhetoric has become commonplace on the Left and it’s not just dishonest, it’s evil. It’s bad for the country. It could even potentially split the country apart one day because we won’t be able to continue to live with each other. In fact, we’ve already reached the point where California’s threats to secede are being met with cries of “faster please, what can we do to help?” from millions of conservatives.

Yes, it may currently give liberals some small temporary political advantage to claim that everyone who doesn’t support gay marriage hates gays, everyone who doesn’t think rape culture exists supports rape, that everyone who doesn’t back free birth control for women hates them, everyone who wants to stop illegal immigration hates Latinos and that everyone who doesn’t want to tear down Confederate statues hates black Americans, but it also injects pure poison into our culture.

If you believe someone doesn’t want kids to have healthcare, hates gays, hates women, hates minorities and wants more rapes to happen, you will probably detest that person. However, liberals seldom consider that the reverse of this is also true. You will also probably detest people who falsely accuse you of not wanting kids to have healthcare, hating gays, hating women, hating minorities and wanting more rapes to happen. In the Palestinian territories or Syria, there might be significant numbers of people who believe many of those aforementioned beliefs. In America, there are very few. What this means is that there are large numbers of people liberals have inspired hatred towards via falsehoods and also large numbers of people who’ve grown to abhor liberals after being targeted by their lies.

Put another way, liberals are CREATING an America where it’s natural to HATE people of differing political views. Not disagree with, HATE.

My initial reaction to hearing Jimmy Kimmel’s, I would like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care,” comment was thinking that I’d enjoy punching him in his smug face.I have no doubt that vast numbers of people that liberals dishonestly call racists, misogynists and homophobes feel exactly the same way. Of course, it’s one thing to feel that way and it’s another to actually do it or suggest others do it as many liberals do. We have left-wingers rioting in the streets to stop people they disagree with from speaking at colleges and publicly encouraging each other to physically attack Nazis, while accusing pretty much everyone who doesn’t toe the liberal line of being a Nazi.

We’ve gotten to the point where someone as inoffensive as Betsy DeVos can’t even give a commencement speech at Bethune-Cookman University without gaggles of idiots screaming and booing. If those liberals can’t even show a modicum of courtesy for Betsy DeVos at a commencement speech, how do they work with people they disagree with? How do they go to church with them? How do they date? How do they share the same space? If the answer is, “They can’t do any of those things,” then how do we ultimately share the same country?

I have a left-wing acquaintance who is still endlessly complaining about Hillary Clinton getting coverage from the very liberal mainstream media that was too negative for his taste. When I noted that Hillary may have gotten some harsh coverage at times, but Trump’s coverage was much worse, I was told in so many words that, “Yes, but Trump deserved it.” Similarly, have you noticed that liberals don’t seem to accept and respect the fact that conservatives found Obama just as loathsome as they find Trump?

It’s the liberal mentality that says, “People who disagree with us on anything are racist, sexist, homophobic and evil. Therefore, we don’t have to treat them fairly. Therefore, their concerns are irrelevant. Therefore, it’s acceptable to lie about them, take away their rights or even use the IRS or legal system to mistreat them. Therefore, they don’t matter. At all.”

I loathe liberalism, but I don’t hate liberals. I would not be okay with lying about them, preventing them from speaking at universities or attacking them because of their political views. I think a lot of liberals are deeply misguided and put their emotions above logic and the good of the country, but I don’t think most of them are evil. Unfortunately, many liberals don’t afford conservatives that same courtesy and one day, that may split the country because what brings us together as a nation is becoming smaller than the liberal hatred that is dividing us.

Best I can tell is that the popular vote is used as a guage of polity to measure the effectiveness of the "divide & conquer" strategy....

"It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." -- Henry Ford

"Capital must protect itself in every way...Debts must be collected and loans and mortgages foreclosed as soon as possible. When through a process of law the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principal men now engaged in forming an imperialism of capitalism to govern the world. By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd." -- Taken from the Civil Servants' Year Book, "The Organizer" January 1934.

Good article Trynein, thanks for posting.

I don't watch Kimmel, but I am familiar with that sort of inflammatory rhetoric. It's this ridiculous "ends justify the means" crap that so many progressives embrace. Any way you can silence the opposition seems to be perfectly acceptable, but these people seem to forget that after all the bickering fades we still all have to live with one another...and ourselves.

    Kimmel's a Communist
    An elite communist

In the old days, I'd say, send him to Russia but that doesn't apply much anymore
In fact, it would seem, there are more communists in America, these days, than in Russia

and most of these communists don't even know it
and most of these communists would welcome the news if they did

And, communism is not sustainable so, it's probably, already, "game over"

We dont really know if communism is sustainable or not, its never been tried! Stalins USSR & Mao's China, etc. et al were communist in political & economic name only.... Like most of the so called tyrants that used the name, Stalin & his Bolshevics, etc. was just a blood thirsty criminals & thieves using .gov to legitimize their murders & thefts.... Essentially the USSR was plundered to death by the elites, like most of them.

Communism (communalism) seems to work in various forms for sects such as the Mennonites, Quakers & Mormons, etc... that said I dont think, but dont really know, that communism can be successfully established due to diversity & varying beliefs as a national economy. It may very well operate successfully at a local micro level however at the macro level, due to special diversified interests it would fail... hence the ideology has been employed not to free peoples from the vicissitudes of life, on the contrary its been used to create wholesale sufferings of the multitudes while the elites consolidated political power & looted entire countries & civilizations.

THE WEST has a target aimed at its head to become the next victim...

Jimi Hendrix used to complain that he was being treated like a jukebox. Jackson Browne, on the other hand, requests that guests shout out requests at his concerts keeping in mind songs that are appropriate whether he is on the piano or holding a guitar.

The Hollywood crowd has gone over the edge and half the people in the USA don't care about them anymore.

Agreed. You're not communist when people own land and market their goods.

The closest thing to pure communism is in Cuba. Of course it gets vilified, but how many have actually been there?

The streets are exceptionally clean - - mostly because they can't afford to throw things away and live the disposable life. Crime is virtually non existent, despite how poor the population is.

Have to wonder how Cuba would fare if not for the trade embargos.

As with everything there's good and bad with it. Only a narrow minded jackas would try to insist communism is 100% wrong...or that capitalism is 100% perfect.

As is nearly always the case, that depends on the details. How one defines communism and capitalism.

If communism means stealing from the masses by using the legalized forced coercion of government to re-distribute resources "fairly" then yeah that's 100% wrongheaded shit that's doomed to fail.

...on the other hand, if your idea of capitalism is free markets without any legitimized coercion(including and especially with regard to currency and interest rates) then yeah that's 100% right...in this narrow minded jackasses opinion.

    YMMV

The one common denominator across both these economic approaches is the human element. Neither communism nor capitalism will ever work because human beings are required to participate and set rules of governance and provide oversight. This is the sole root cause of every example of the failure of communism and capitalism throughout history!! Human beings can be some of the most idiotic, uneducated, ignorant, obtuse, greedy, evil, dishonest, mentally incompetent, self righteous, racist, anti Semitic, zionist, unqualified and down right unsavory entities on the planet. They are the same people who will take a great idea and turn it into an unimaginable nightmare.

Think about that for a minute before contemplating how we're going to explain how your particular 'ism' is the right one.

No crime in Cuba, nothing to steal. Haven't been there, why would I? Lord it over the dirt poor peasants?

Crime is present in various forms in Cuba though the government does not release official crime statistics.[1] Crime reports are on the rise, with below-average crisis intervention from police.[2] Gun crime is virtually nonexistent and murder rates are below those of most Latin American countries. Drug trafficking grew dramatically in the mid-1980s and 1990s. In the 1990s over 200 foreigners and many more Cubans were caught smuggling drugs, and some 31 tons of drugs, mostly United States-bound, were seized by the authorities. Prostitution and pornography are both illegal in Cuba.

    No gun crime. No guns.
Lower murder rates than most Latin American countries. That's not saying much.
Don't report official crime statistics, well, how are you measuring crime then? Magic 8 ball?

The people who run government have gotten to the point where they are essentially the mafia. They are multiple syndicates competing for our tax revenue.

They want to provide the nation with "services" and charge us a fee for that service. Don't pay up and the goons (IRS) will get you.

They create the issues like perpetual warfare, war on poverty, war on drugs and so on so we have to pay them, but that is not what governments role is.

Governments role is to protect our rights, it's not the governments duty to stick a tit in our mouths and provide us with everything.

Just think about the fact that we are in debt trillions of dollars with no plan to pay it off... our children's future is mortgaged before they are even born so we can be provided with services? And doing so puts the power into the hands of a few. It is completely out of control.

I'm all for socialism, provided that it is completely voluntary and doesn't involve government. This is the role of society... charities and the church.

Liberals need to understand that they are enslaving everyone.

It's always good for a laugh to hear the ones shilling for "capitalism" and getting rid of government involvement.

They're the first ones in line for help from the government when things turn badly for them - - witness the 2009 government handouts to the banks and auto makers.

The insistence that privatization can do things for less money is ridiculously naive. Any cost savings by privatizing won't get passed on to consumers in terms of lower prices - - they'll go into the coffers of the private company.

And of course when things turn badly the privatized company will look to the government to bail them out - - as we see with the TEPCO catastrophe in Japan.

You're describing tyranny, lawlessness, and the behavior of an oligarchy. All of which we have at this point, but anyone with any knowledge of history knows it wasn't this way in this nation until the rule of law was eroded over time and the masses were slowly dumbed down into acquiescence.
    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/capitalism

Merely bundling everything you hate about the way the governments in the West operate today and labeling it "capitalism" doesn't make it so. There are no free markets at this point, everything is controlled...particularly the currency supply and the price of currency(interest rates). I fail to see a way to have free market capitalism in a system in which the currency itself isn't allowed to compete in a free market.

You can't be serious with those comments.

Do you honestly believe America hasn't always been ruled by a small upper class that makes its fortune off the backs of everyone else?

Educate yourself on slavery, share cropping and company stores then tell me if the good old days were really any different than today.

I am quite serious. Thanks for checking though.

There have always been robber barons and rich people sure. At one time they lacked the overwhelming coercion of government to compel the masses to do their will. I don't accept the ridiculous notion that rich = evil. That is imo a divisive Marxist ideal to manipulate the masses into engaging in activities that are both against their own interests and to divide the masses to make them easier to control.

I am quite familiar with the history of slavery in America thank you. Funny that it always seems to be held up as an American issue, despite the fact that the word slave itself comes from the root word slav...as in slavic...as in European. Slavery existed centuries before America existed and wasn't nearly as prevalent in the colonies as some would have us believe. Once again you're just piling everything you hate about America and American history and blaming an economic system. Yeah bad people exist, even in free markets, but without the legitimized force of government people can generally avoid and/or resist the behavior of unsavory actors.

Your long winded rambling and feeble attempt to justify slavery doesn't change the fact that America has always been an oligarchy.

lol Well sir, there's not much point in trying if you're just going to lob insults rather than addressing what is actually said.

Yes, better for you to declare that which you refuse to address "long winded ramblings" and "feeble" and then declare victory.

You also seem to have difficulty recognizing the differences between political systems and economic systems, though I doubt any attempt to discuss the topic would prove any more successful.

Agree. This can be seen in cases like the crypto movement or Von Nothaus' success with the liberty dollar. Free markets keep trying to assert themselves and government keeps trying to squish it.

What would you like me to "address"?

As I pointed out, America has been controlled by a small group of elites since its inception. Your insistence that this is only a recent phenomenon completely ignored slavery, sharecropping and company stores. But instead of acknowledging your proclamation was factually incorrect, you decided to double down and keep arguing against historical facts.

Please clarify what you want me to "address" and I'll be more than happy to do so. But until then, let's not try to pretend that once upon a time America was anything other than an oligarchy.

Is it government corrupting business or is it business corrupting government?

Political "donations" and the growing power of the lobbyist industry answers that question pretty succinctly.

    See post #25.

You're entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts. Sharecropping OMFG! ...let's go dig up Karl Marx and get his opinion. Company stores too!?! Holy shiznit...will the tyranny ever end?!? lol

No doubt chairman Mao's policies would have fixed those evil sharecroppers right up. The slavery issue has been used to beat Americans over the head with since there were Americans...it's so overdone it's just insane at this point. Not even mentioning the fact that nearly .75 million Americans died allegedly to end slav-ery, but let's not discuss that shall we?

The government is not squishing anything, my friend. The squishing is coming from the "capitalists" who pull the marionette strings in order to prevent any kind of competition.

Perfect example was Gaddafi's plan to trade oil for gold rather than worthless US dollars.

You're spinning in circles now. So once again I'll ask - - what exactly are you looking for me to "address"?

I don't frankly care what you address. I'm convinced you can read. Figure it out yourself...friend.

BTW here's a map of European Slav-ic nations. Notice anything odd here? ...no I don't suppose you do.

What we see today is why previous, much wiser civilizations kept their females repressed and didn't allow them as equals in everything. They learned that from previous civilizations like us who came before them and in the end crumbled under the weight of diversity, equality and inclusion minded female SJW and feminazis.

Please do not try to rationalize slavery in America as being justified since "everyone else was doing it".

Why would the founding fathers embrace such a reprehensible and morally wrong thing as slavery when formulating a country that's allegedly the "the land of the free"?

Which goes back to my original comment that America has always been ruled by a small group of upper class elites. I still can't fathom how you could try to dispute this.

It's the same situation today as it was 250 years ago, except the slaves have had their chains replaced by debt.

I have no need to "justify" or "rationalize" slav-ery, as I've never owned a slav-e. I merely pointed out that this is not an issue of capitalism vs communism...which you so clearly advocate. Slav-ery didn't suddenly spring out of rocks because capitalism.

At the height of slav-ery in the colonies a whopping 1.4% of whites had black slav-es. The fact that such a minuscule minority still defines America 150 years after its abolition is to my mind prima facie evidence that this issue exists today only as a means to a political end.

What I dispute is your bizarre contention that everything you dislike can just be herded into one single tent, labeled "capitalism", and then panned. It doesn't hold up to even the most cursory of examinations.

I've been there 7 times. From Pinar del Rio to Camaguay so have seen a lot of the island.
Cuiba would look like what it was in the 1950's before the embargo. Corruption everywhere.

The people are great and I really like the island. Its like stepping back in time. For the most part the Cubans are hard working but lacking in opportunity.
Most of the trash you will find in the streets is from the crumbling buildings. Most of the country is still run by the elite, you have the very wealthy and the poor, no in between.
After Russia collapsed things got bad but the people did pull together and from what I can tell they are mostly an agrarian economy. Fruits and vegetables are very good and all organic. Cigars, rum and coffee are some of the best on the planet.
There may not be much trash but they don't have much to throw away either. I'd say they mostly just barely get by. That being said, they have a roof over their heads and no debts so overall are pretty happy.

So the upper 1% was previously the upper 1.4% - - that's precisely my point. A small group of elites made their fortunes off the backs of others 250 years ago just as they do today.

The American version of "capitalism" is a laughable charade as evidenced by the handouts of 2009, the incessant insider trading and rigged markets. Look at what it's done to the country - - insolvent and crumbling on the verge of collapse.

And just as an FYI "slavery" is not hyphenated, my friend.
