'An informational film which emphasizes the importance for the continual modernization of the Army for effective national defense. The film portrays the Army's efforts to forge "A Sharper Sword and Stronger Shield" to preserve the peace or win a future war. The presentation describes the pentagonal organization and structural flexibility of the modern Army, new tactical concepts, and technological advancements in weapons and equipment. The presentation then goes on to show the new type of Army weapons, both nuclear and conventional, and the latest developments in air and ground equipment. It describes their use in carrying out the major elements of the modern tactical concept -- dispersion, firepower, mobility, communications and surveillance, and support. A simulated task force then demonstrates the employment of new combat techniques, weapons, and equipment."'

Pentomic (cf.Greek pent(e)- and -tome, "of five parts") refers to a structure for infantry and Airborne divisions adopted by the U.S. Army in 1957 in response to the perceived threat posed by tactical nuclear weapons use on the battlefield.

"Pentomic Division" was "a public relations term designed to combine the concept of five subordinate units ('penta') with the idea of a division that could function on an atomic or nonatomic battlefield."...

    Organization

The infantry and Airborne division structures commonly known as Pentomic divisions are actually two related organizations, officially known as Reorganization of the Airborne Division (ROTAD) and Reorganization of the Current Infantry Division (ROCID). The Pentomic structure was a reaction to the perceived threat of Atomic weapons on the modern battlefield and a chance for the Army to secure additional funding.

Previously the US Army had fought World War I with the "square" organisation, each division having two brigades, each with two infantry regiments. Prior to American participation in the Second World War the organization was changed to "triangular" with each division directly controlling three regiments, and eliminating the brigade echelon from the division.

The ROTAD was implemented first, with the 101st Airborne Division reorganizing under test tables of organization published on 10 August 1956. The core of the division was five infantry battle groups, each containing five infantry companies, a headquarters and service company, and a mortar battery... Separate signal and engineer battalions completed the organization, which required a total of 11,486 men. After a series of tests by the 101st Airborne Division, the Continental Army Command (CONARC) approved slightly modified tables of organization, and all three airborne divisions (the 11th, 82nd and 101st) were reorganized during 1957.

Shortly after the 101st began testing ROTAD, the CONARC began developing ROCID, forwarding the initial ROCID tables of organization to the Army Staff on 15 October 1956. The core of this initial ROCID organization, similar to ROTAD, consisted of five battle groups... The Army’s nine infantry divisions completed reorganization into the new structure in 1957.

The standard infantry division was seen as being too clumsy in its fixed organization. Units were organized in a system of "5's". A division was organized with five battle groups, each commanded by a colonel. Each battle group consisted of five line (rifle) companies... The 1961 addition of "Davy Crockett" recoilless spigot guns with atomic warheads supplemented the concept of the atomic age army...

The Pentomic systems was found to be flawed in several ways...

In December 1960, the Army began studying proposals to reorganize again that was hastened by newly elected President John F. Kennedy's "Doctrine of Flexible Response". This led to the ROAD (Reorganization Objective Army Division) initiative by 1963...

1943 DECEMBER 7TH - Documentary - Directed by John Ford - Long Version
    captainbijou.com

    Published on Dec 6, 2016
1943 film directed by John Ford and Gregg Toland, dramatizing the event which led to the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, which marked America's involvement in World War II, and its aftermath.

Many of the scenes were staged and re-created by four-time Oscar-winner Ford. Familiar Hollwyood actors such as Walter Huston, Harry Davenport, Ralph Byrd, Robert Lowery and others are featured in the newly created footage.

Per Wikipedia: "Started within days of the attack, the original film was 82 minutes long and asked some embarrassing questions, such as why there was no long-range reconnaissance and no short range air patrols. Further, the film had a lot of time devoted to the culture of the 160,000 Japanese-Americans in Hawaii and their response to the attack.

For these reasons the long version of the film was censored for decades and the shorter 32-minute version released.

The shorter version was awarded the Academy Award in 1944 for the Best Documentary Short Subject.

The Internationals trip to Europe 1975
    PhilaVideo

    Published on Dec 9, 2016
DescriptionThe Internationals trip to Europe January - April 1975. Home movies by Bill Matter of Feasterville, Pa. who died in 2011. As I remember, Bill found his way with the group because he had a commercial driver's license and could drive the bus in the states. The Christian musical group was from the Florida Bible College in Hollywood, Florida. It was led by pastor James (Jim) A. Greer, music director of the college, and was managed by Dr. Ernie Englebert. It featured college-aged singers and was formed in 1969. In 1970 they boasted a 30-member orchestra and, that spring, released an LP called "The Internationals." They toured the United States, Canada and Western Europe. They performed on television, and in shopping centers, churches and high schools. The group worked for free but free will offerings were sometimes taken to cover their expenses. They spent 10 months on tour each year. By 1976, the group downsized to nine members and used live vocals over taped orchestral backgrounds. The group was still active in late 1977. Jim Greer and his wife Dolly (Dorothy W.) were from Blooming Glen, Pa. Since 1990 the Greers live in Grayson, Ga. Bill selected the music for this video, including Apollo 100 and the soundtrack of the movie Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. I transferred these Super 8mm films in 1998 using a Panasonic AG-750 S-VHS three-chip camera. Linear audio. Unfortunately, YouTube doesn't allow me to use the video enhancement tool for HD so I cannot reduce the color saturation and adjust the color temperature. Otherwise, these films look great.

    BRONSON: The Big BREAKOUT! (1952-1960)
    Johnny Legend

    Published on Jan 30, 2015
Everybody's favorite CHARLES is REALLY IN CHARGE HERE--breaking out of one joint after another and wreaking havoc wherever he goes! This is a 3-hour collection featuring 6 classic TV shows--complete & edited together with no gaps or spaces--the exact starting time of each program in hours, minutes & seconds is in parenthesis: Ep. 1 (00:00) THE GUEST (1952) This episode of the forgotten series "The Visitor" gives us possibly the first total starring performance from Bronson (still using his birth name 'Buchinsky'). Fresh out of jail, he takes over a suburban household pretending to be the war buddy of legendary actress BEULAH BONDI's dead son. The first of many collaborations with director ROBERT ALDRICH (The Dirty Dozen). Ep. 2 (25:48) TREASURY MEN IN ACTION (1955) He's out of prison and immediately starts stealing drugs, killing cops, and seeking revenge on his wife RANDY STUART. Complete with the original 1955 CHEVY commercials! Ep. 3 (54:54) FEDERAL MEN (1954) Mr. B. breaks out of the joint with AARON SPELLING and of course is seeking revenge on his old lady. With his pop-eyes, goofy hat, gaping teeth and scarecrow physique, Spelling is a revelation in this incredibly rare episode transferred from the only surviving master. Ep. 4 (1:20:51) CLOSE-UP ON VIOLENCE (1958) Our only non "break-out"show is from Bronson's TV series MAN WITH A CAMERA, co-starring ANGIE DICKINSON and ROBERT ARMSTRONG (King Kong). Written by Jack Laird (Night Gallery) and directed by the immortal WILLIAM CASTLE! Ep. 5 (1:47:55) PURSUIT (1959) The camera's gone and our boy is back to escaping from a prison road gang in this action-packed episode of U.S. MARSHAL. Ep. 6 ( ZIGZAG (1960) It's back to the Bayou in the late 1800's as Bronson and his men break out of a backwoods prison in this hour-long episode of a popular Western series. Featuring DARREN McGAVIN, NOAH BEERY JR. (Rockford's dad) and the stunning STELLA STEVENS!

WORLD WAR II SOVIET PARTISAN OPERATIONS BEHIND GERMAN LINES 48864
    PeriscopeFilm

    Published on Dec 25, 2016
This post-WWII Soviet propaganda film (entirely in Russian) pays tribute to the role played by partisan groups in fighting the invading German Wehrmacht during the Great Patriotic War. The film includes rare footage and re-enactments depicting a variety of operations, from harassing German rear areas and supply lines, administering rough justice to persons who collaborated with the Germans (a firing squad is seen around 1:35), and working to re-assure Soviets in isolated and occupied areas that Stalin will liberate them. A Soviet newspaper is seen being published at 2:30. Field communications are seen at 2:57, and biplanes fly secret missions into German territory to support the partisans and deliver weapons at 3:20, as well as evacuate a wounded comrade. Women fighters are seen at 4:30 being decorated in the field, along with boys (one of them looks about age 10-12) who have joined the fighting forces.

The Soviet partisans were members of resistance movements that fought a guerrilla war against the Axis forces in the Soviet Union and the previously Soviet-occupied territories of interwar Poland in 1941–45. The activity emerged after the Nazi German Operation Barbarossa during World War II, and according to Great Soviet Encyclopedia it was coordinated and controlled by the Soviet government and modeled on that of the Red Army. The primary objective of the guerrilla warfare waged by the Soviet partisan units was the disruption of the Eastern Front's German rear, especially road and rail communications. There were also regular military formations called partisans, that were used to conduct long-range reconnaissance patrol missions behind Axis lines from the Soviet-held territory.

Beat The Devil (1953) [Action] [Adventure] [Comedy]
    Timeless Classic Movies

    Published on Dec 29, 2016
Beat the Devil is a 1953 British film directed by John Huston, starring Humphrey Bogart, Jennifer Jones and Gina Lollobrigida, and featuring Robert Morley, Peter Lorre and Bernard Lee. Huston and Truman Capote wrote the screenplay, loosely based upon a novel of the same name by British journalist Claud Cockburn, writing under the pseudonym James Helvick. Houston made the film as a parody of a genre of film. Although often described as a parody of The Maltese Falcon, which Huston directed and in which Bogart and Lorre appeared, this is not the case.

The script, written on a day-to-day basis as the film was shot, concerns the adventures of a motley crew of swindlers and ne'er-do-wells trying to claim land rich in uranium deposits in Kenya as they wait in a small Italian port to travel aboard a tramp steamer en route to Mombasa.

    ---

Plot: Billy Dannreuther (Humphrey Bogart) is a formerly-wealthy American who has fallen on hard times. He is reluctantly working with four crooks: Peterson (Robert Morley), ex-Nazi Julius O'Hara (Peter Lorre), Major Jack Ross (Ivor Barnard) and Ravello, who are trying to acquire uranium-rich land in British East Africa. Billy suspects that Major Ross murdered a British Colonial officer, who threatened to expose their plan. While waiting in Italy for passage to Africa, Billy and his wife Maria (Gina Lollobrigida) meet a British couple: Harry (Edward Underdown) and Gwendolen Chelm (Jennifer Jones), who plan to travel on the same ship. Harry is a very proper and traditional Englishman, while Gwendolen is flighty and fanciful and a compulsive liar. Billy and Gwendolen have an affair, while Maria flirts with Harry. Peterson becomes suspicious that the Chelms may be attempting to acquire the uranium themselves. His suspicions are unfounded, but they seem to him to be confirmed by Gwendolen, who lies about her husband and exaggerates his importance.

Billy and Peterson are in a car accident and wrongly reported to have been killed. In order to replace Peterson's lost capital, Ravello approaches Harry Chelm and explains their scheme. Just then, to everyone's surprise, Billy and Peterson return to the hotel alive and unharmed. The purser announces that the ship is at last ready to sail. On board, Harry reveals that he knows about Peterson's scheme and intends to inform the authorities. Peterson orders Major Ross to kill Harry, but Billy thwarts the murder attempt. Harry's outraged accusations alienate the ship's drunken captain, who locks Harry in the brig, where he is uncomfortable, but safe from Major Ross.

The ship's engine malfunctions and the ship sinks. When Billy goes to free Harry he finds that Harry has escaped and left the ship, intending to swim ashore. The passengers abandon the sinking ship in a lifeboat and land on an African beach, where they are arrested by Arab soldiers. They are interrogated by Ahmed, an Arab official who suspects that they may be spies or revolutionaries. Billy befriends Ahmed by talking with him about Rita Hayworth, upon whom Ahmed has a crush. Billy persuades him to send the party back to Italy. When they land, they are met and questioned by a Scotland Yard detective (Bernard Lee), who is investigating the murder of the Colonial officer. Gwendolen reveals Peterson's scheme, and his involvement in the murder, and his attempt to murder Harry, to the detective, who promptly arrests Peterson, O'Hara, Major Ross and Ravello. As the four crooks are led away in handcuffs, Gwendolen receives a telegram from British East Africa saying that Harry has acquired the land Peterson and the others meant to steal, and is now extremely rich and willing to forgive Gwendolen, Billy and Maria. Billy laughs happily, saying "This is the end, the end!".

    ---

Directed and produced by John Huston, screenplay by John Huston and Truman Capote, based on the novel Beat the Devil (1951) by Claud Cockburn (as James Helvick), starring Humphrey Bogart as Billy Dannreuther, Jennifer Jones as Mrs. Gwendolen Chelm, Gina Lollobrigida as Maria Dannreuther, Robert Morley as Peterson, Peter Lorre as Julius O'Hara, Edward Underdown as Harry Chelm, Ivor Barnard as Maj. Jack Ross, Marco Tulli as Ravello, Bernard Lee as Insp. Jack Clayton, Mario Perrone as Purser on SS Nyanga, Giulio Donnini as Administrator, Saro Urzì as Captain of SS Nyanga, Aldo Silvani as Charles, restaurant owner and Juan de Landa as Hispano-Suiza Driver

SILENT SERVICE TV SHOW OPERATION SEADRAGON 83074
    PeriscopeFilm

    Published on Dec 31, 2016
“Operation Seadragon” is a 1958 black-and-white episode of the docudrama “The Silent Service” — about the U.S. Navy's submarine fleet. The were based on fact and the realism was heightened by actual use of combat footage from the files of the Navy. The stories were varied between the South Pacific during World War II and the Korean War. The series was the brainchild of Rear Admiral Thomas M. Dykers, who retired from the Navy in 1949 after 22 years service and introduces this episode.

This episode stars Richard Deacon, James McCallion, Mark Tapscott, Paul Carr, Wally Richard, David Whorf, Baynes Barron and Leonard A. Mazzola.

The episode is set in December 1942 aboard the USS Seadragon (SS-194) and the viewer is given a brief history of the vessel and how it came under attack by Japanese depth charges. Running out of air and with a Japanese sub trailing them, the captain gives the order to surface at mark 07:45 and to prepare to fire. On the surface and firing torpedoes at a Japanese vessel at mark 09:45 and take fire in return but successful elude the enemy. At mark 13:05, some of the officers question why their skipper didn’t stay and fight rather than turn from the battle, only to learn at mark 14:00 of his plan to take the sub into Rabaul Harbor in Papua New Guinea, where the Japanese have a naval installation and have based their subs. “No doggone Japanese sub is going to shoot at my boat and get away with it!” the skipper tells his men.

After locating and firing on the sub at mark 17:15 the Seadragon falls under attack from an enemy bomber, jamming a live torpedo in her firing tube. Dropping to 150 feet the captain realizes they can’t surface and they can’t run because the vibration may detonate the torpedo, so he decides to use a blast of air to jettison it from the tube. The idea was successful (mark 22:23) and though the blast damaged the sub the crew was able to save themselves and the ship.

"This film concerns the Corona program that produced the world's first photo-reconnaissance (spy) satellites. The film was produced by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and premiered at the "Piercing the Curtain" conference in May of 1995. The film provides an in-depth examination about how and why the Corona program was created, as well as a detailed technological account of how the satellite was built, and its specific operations and capabilities. The film includes footage of Richard Helms, who was the director of the CIA from 1966-1973, as he addressed a press conference about the Corona mission." Although this film was produced in 1995, most of the interviews within it were filmed in the 1970s.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corona_(...)

The Corona program was a series of American strategic reconnaissance satellites produced and operated by the Central Intelligence Agency Directorate of Science & Technology with substantial assistance from the U.S. Air Force. The Corona satellites were used for photographic surveillance of the Soviet Union (USSR), the People's Republic of China, and other areas beginning in June 1959 and ending in May 1972...

The Corona satellites used 31,500 feet (9,600 meters) of special 70 millimeter film with 24 inch (60 centimeter) focal length cameras. Initially orbiting at altitudes from 165 to 460 kilometers above the surface of the Earth, the cameras could resolve images on the ground down to 7.5 meters in diameter. The two KH-4 systems improved this resolution to 2.75 meters and 1.8 meters respectively, because they operated at lower orbital altitudes...

The first dozen or more Corona satellites and their launches were cloaked with disinformation as being part of a space technology development program called the Discoverer program. The first test launches for the Corona/Discoverer were carried out early in 1959. The capsule of Discoverer 2 might have been recovered by the Soviets, after landing on Spitsbergen Island. The first Corona launch containing a camera was carried out in June 1959 with the cover name Discoverer 4. This was a 750 kilogram satellite launched by a Thor-Agena rocket.

The plan for the Corona program was for its satellites to return canisters of exposed film to the Earth in re-entry capsules, called by the slang term "film buckets", which were to be recovered in mid-air by specially-equipped U.S. Air Force planes during their parachute descent. (The buckets were designed to float on the water for a short period of time for possible recovery by U.S. Navy ships, and then to sink if the recovery failed, via a water-dissolvable plug made of salt at the base of the capsule. This was for secrecy purposes.)

The return capsule of the Discoverer 13 mission, which launched August 10, 1960, was successfully recovered the next day.[6] This was the first time that any object had been recovered successfully from orbit. After the mission of Discoverer 14, launch on August 18, 1960, its film bucket was successfully retrieved two days later by a C-119 Flying Boxcar transport plane. This was the first successful return of photographic film from orbit. In comparison, Sputnik 5 was launched into orbit on August 19, 1960, one day after the launch of Discoverer 14. Sputnik 5 was a biosatellite that took into orbit the two Soviet space dogs, Belka and Strelka, and then safely returned them to the Earth ...

The last launch under the Discoverer cover name was Discoverer 38 on 26 February 1962. Its bucket was successfully recovered in midair during the 65th orbit (the 13th recovery of a bucket; the ninth one in midair). Following this last use of the Discoverer name, the remaining launches of Corona satellites were entirely top secret. The last Corona launch was on 1972-05-25. The project was abandoned after a Soviet Navy submarine was detected waiting beneath a Corona mid-air retrieval zone in the Pacific Ocean...

FLIGHT 1950s TV SHOW "THE DART" F-100 SUPERSONIC FLIGHT 82554a
    PeriscopeFilm

    Published on Jan 1, 2017
This episode of “Flight,” titled “The Dart,” originally aired on November 11, 1958, and focuses on “the dart” supersonic aerial gunnery target and the stress of supersonic flight. (“Flight” was an anthology series featuring the importance of aviation that aired in syndication for one season. It was created with the assistance of the United States Air Force and featured retired General George C. Kenney as the host and opening narrator.) Co-starring Herbert Rudley, Mike Road, and Wesley Lau, the episode follows General Kenney’s traditional opening (at mark 01:25) with a flight surgeon examining a pilot while discussing his upcoming supersonic flight. Sensing something is wrong with the pilot emotionally, the doctor allows him to go on his way. While on a training mission the pilot accidentally fires on his tow plane (mark 06:18) forcing him to eject while the F-100 crashes. In the hospital at mark 07:24, the pilots explain what occurred during the mission and the flight surgeon confronts the pilot to ask why he fired on another pilot. Refusing to answer, the surgeon goes on to meet with the commanding officer and theorize that stress may have been to blame (mark 11:40). A lieutenant explains that the pilot had been spending a lot of time in Las Vegas with a showgirl and the film cuts to Fremont Street at mark 13:46 where the surgeon questions her and learns the two pilots fought over her the night before — leading to speculation that he deliberately tried to kill the other officer. After taking a look at the pilots’ mission and discussing the effects of negative gravity (mark 18:15) the surgeon speculates that may have been to blame — speculation that’s later proven true.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMMUNISM COLD WAR DOCUMENTARY w/ RONALD REAGAN Part 1 49894
    PeriscopeFilm

    Published on Jan 2, 2017
A crawl at the opening seconds of the 1962 film “The Truth About Communism” explains that this film was shown to Alexander Kerensky, a lawyer, politician, Minister of War, and minister-chairman of the Russian Provisional Government overthrown by Communists in the 1917 Russian Revolution. Kerensky introduces the documentary starting at mark 00:35, explains how he had been leader of the provisional government before being overthrown, and notes that the Russian people are victims of Communism. A passage of the Manifesto of the Communist Party (including the proclamation that the “proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains”) flashes on the screen at mark 02:25 before scenes of the revolution (taken by Russian cameraman as they occurred) are shown. Leon Trotsky, a leader of the revolution and a founding member of the Red Army, speaks from the back of a train at mark 03:00, and at mark 03:10 we learn of the film’s narrator — Ronald Reagan — who as United States President nearly 30 years after this film would be influential in the fall of Communism.

Reagan explains that it will be up to the audience to help meet the Communist challenge in the world and we see a map showing the “conspiracy that is communism” (mark 03:50) as well as Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev (mark 03:56), Chinese Chairman Mao Tse-tung (mark 04:14), Cuban leader Fidel Castro (mark 04:22) — all of whom claim that co-existence with capitalism is impossible. “There target is us. Our institutions, our religions, our families, our children,” Reagan says. He goes on to describe Karl Marx as “a sick man … sick in body and spirit.” We witness the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II at mark 06:00 and the arrival of Vladimir Lenin in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) at mark 06:20 as he speaks before a crowd of onlookers. We see a young Kerensky before the Communists take over the country and are shown executing anyone who stands in their way (mark 07:00). US President Herbert Hoover is shown at mark 08:28 as he pledges aid to Russia and its people. Following Lenin’s death in 1924, Josef Stalin (mark 08:57) takes over as Russia’s leader, changing the course of history.

As the film continues, we learn of the exile and eventual murder of opposition members such as Trotsky, the abolishment of religion, and the rise of atheism. Children are introduced to military training at an early age and independent farms are turned into collectives, with the drama playing out in various scenes beginning at mark 13:47. Secret police forces and slave labor camps are created (and shown at mark 15:10), and some like Soviet writer Maxim Gorky (shown at mark 17:08) mysteriously die. In the wake of these purges, Reagan explains, Khrushchev begins his rise to power. With Adolf Hitler’s (shown at mark 20:55) rise to power in Nazi Germany and the onset of World War II, Stalin and Hitler agree to a non-aggression pact — only to be attacked by Germany (mark 30:05). By the end of WWII, Communists occupy all of Eastern Europe and one-third of Germany. By 1949, “China falls to the Reds,” Reagan says at mark 37:10. “Another 700 million people under Communist control.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMMUNISM DOCUMENTARY w/ RONALD REAGAN Part 2 49914
    PeriscopeFilm

    Published on Jan 2, 2017
Part 2 of the 1962 documentary “The Truth About Communism” continues its explanation of the terror presented by the Soviet Union and its ideology. Narrated by Ronald Reagan (who as United States President nearly 30 years after this film would influence the fall of Communism), the picture opens in Czechoslovakia where democratic elements, led by President Edvard Benes, hoped the Soviet Union would allow Czechoslovakia the freedom to choose its own form of government and aspired to a Czechoslovakia that would act as a bridge between East and West. Communist leaders pushed for a coalition government instead, with Klement Gottwald as prime minister, and in 1948 took power. To divert attention, Reagan explains Stalin ordered violent protests in Colombia (mark 02:25) with riots killing 1,000 people and destroying more than 100 buildings. Stalin then blocks access routes into Berlin, Germany (mark 02:55) leading to the Berlin airlift (mark 03:15). In June 1950, with Stalin’s prompting, North Korea and South Korea go to war (mark 07:50) as battle scenes flood the screen before a truce is declared in 1953. The film returns to the Kremlin at mark 09:20 and an explanation of how Stalin executed hundreds of Jewish doctors and leaders after accusing them of conspiracy and espionage. His purge continues until news of the Soviet leader’s March 1953 death as the headline “Stroke Fells Stalin” flashes onto the screen at mark 10:08. “The end of a tyrant,” Reagan says.

We then follow Khrushchev’s sudden rise to power as secretary-general of the Soviet Union (mark 12:35) as he staffs key positions with his own followers and at mark 13:10 is shown delievering his de-Stalinization speech (a process of political reform in the Soviet Union consisting of changing or removing key institutions that helped Stalin hold power). There are scenes from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 starting at mark 15:27 and the subsequent Soviet response (mark 20:20). Reagan discusses the role of propaganda in the spread of Communism and reminds the viewer of Chairman Mao’s prediction that war with the West is inevitable (mark 26:35). As it winds down, we see scenes of President Dwight D. Eisenhower being protested during a visit in Uruguay (mark 30:32) and Vice President Richard Nixon being protested by Communists in Venezuela (mark 30:42). As more scenes of violence fill the screen, it nears its end with the construction of Berlin Wall (mark 31:35) — as people desperately flee through the barbed wire.
