I'm not surprised Andial. Missouri getting it good also.
Seen on the local news where the river levels are expected to rise another 6 to 10 feet here in central Ar. Major flooding likely in Desarc, a small town next to the White River, maybe 20 miles from home. They've spent the last few days sandbagging, we'll see if it holds.

Rained all day again, we worked in it, hanging windows on the little house we framed a few weeks back. Life was like, a waterfall, thinking about a river, while we banged on some walls.

    Calling it a week.

Pretty cool Usgs river stage map here.

I feel ya on the National news Mr. Watched it a few weeks back and after cussing the Anchor, the gf had the audacity to ask me, "When did you become so damn cynical"?

I told her the world has lost its ficking mind, not me Goddamnit! For God's Ficking Sakes women, can't you see it's not me,... It's Them! FUCK!

Stoney......expect more water.....i live in southern mo.....right at the line where water either goes south to the white river basin via james river.....or north to the missouri river via osage river...depends on which side of the hill i piss on......

we have recieved over 22 inches of rain in the last 2.5wks.......and recieved another 3 last night......100yr plus record rain falls...hopefully the lakes will kinda slow it down a bit...

i have kept busy keeping culverts open of debris i keep a backhoe with a thumb at the farm....i have done ok with minimal damage due to rainfalls not exceeding a fall rate of 3" a hour ...also with ground saturated its been a good time to pull up some offensive trees and dispose (old pic)

Put together a cover for a well today. Nothing fancy. Just some treated 2x10's with treated 2x3 side rails. Whole thing is only 30 inches square. Yup. Wasn't the only thing I did today but just thought I'd share that with the rest of the class.
Oh, on the under side I wrote SAMARA WAS HERE. Not that anyone will ever see it but just getting my kicks.

Spent most of the day, 9AM-8PM dodging rain drops, in the process of enclosing front porch to turn it into a sunroom. Wife helped, mostly by trying my patience. I won, I didn't get pissed and thrown anything. Got it mostly studded in and ready to put on the sheeting, install the windows and door. Siding will go on next week and then all we'll have left is wire, insolate and interior paneling and finish.

We set about 300 yards off the road, so, we think almost of the front of the house as the back, because, we almost never go out the front. This may change that.

Assuming you are not going to trim that out, what ya did was a great idea. They make "L" bead (plastic stuff) for that and I assume that is what you used. I used to spray glue the 'L' up, then finish as normal. But what you did would work for me if I'd of thought of it.

Indeed ya supposed to pre-fill those gaps sir dial before ya tape'm.
When I ran a crew we would send the 'new guy' on ahead of us with 10 minute mud filling those gaps while we drink our coffee and smok'em. Wait a half hour and start running off spools of tape with the bazooka. Four guys doing 15, 80 board apts a week. Tape finish and sprayed in 5 days.

Typical 2" wide pink paper tape ham. finish pass complete no visible bump in wall despite rough ends meeting tapered pieces. moistening tape helps IMHO.

Nice. I'll see if that will fit in my tool box.

I've found that unless someone does drywall for a living, no two people finish tape the same way.

I worked with a crew that would carry buckets of water while taping just to keep their knives clean. Not trying to start an argument here but the method I try to copy and put into action is embed with a 6" inch knife, 2nd coat with a 10" curved trowel and finish with a 14" flat trowel. I've seen it done and the guy made it look easy but it takes a great deal of pressure to press the mud so it comes out flat. Don't really do it enough to get good at it but fake it till you make it is my motto.

This morning I sanded the area above some wall kitchen cabinets that I removed the crown from. The crown was hiding all the unfinished corners and some other butchery. Tight quarters. Not fun.

Yes I keep a bucket of water with me also to keep tools clean especially on final pass hammer. Funny you mention the unfinished grip board corners behind the crown, I was messing with the customer's head " no need to tape the corners with the cabinets and crown going in who cares" I said, he went along but I could see it bugged him when he came home he saw the corners done and was smiling.
