The truth is that we cannot possibly know what shape the earth is, despite all of our technology. Period.

Even though the accepted model can accurately predict sunrise, sunset, solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, position and brightness of comets, asteroids, occultations, angular position of celestial objects anywhere on the Earth with slightly more than simple, provable, observable geometry.

I can point an antenna at a satellite and get an accurate image showing where clouds are that match observation anywhere and amazingly conforms to the accepted model. Pretty good hoax if that's all that is. Damn good hoax that would be. Practically magic level of hoax that would have to be.
