Jovan DID investigate specifically this. He just tweeted about it this past week.Those yellow dots have been on all printers for decades. Its means nothing if no one cares or can investigate.
The code has the serial number of the machine it was printed on. I wonder if the serial number has been recorded from the day of manufacture to the day of install? Ya think?They are READABLE CODE.
Most likely the printer is on the inet in some way and the MAC addy was used to encode the s/n as well. Physical location of the printer is probably a simple click/IP away. Have you ever 'looked' at your printer online using its IP addy? Try it sometime. It works for all online printers.
One thing I've come to understand lately is the PTB have surveillance powers greater than what we understand.
