Just found some old pics...I may probably posted this in the thread years back already but here's a throwback.

Here's something you don't see everyday:

thanks, i checked them out, they've got the 'mistake' bar up for $40, this is the first bar that was issued to collectors. it reflects the wrong date on the bar, so, it appears Hamilton produced some re-strikes with the correct date and sold those in later sets and then, i'm guessing the did another re-strike where they included a set of hallmarks along the edge

this bar i pictured is inside a sealed airtite. i don't wanna break it open if i can find a photo or a reference on-line about it, it could be fake

i trust the source, i got it a few years back and i might have missed this hallmark had it not been for the fact this bar, with the correct date, is a Variety strike

I've got a few others that have the correct date and they don't have the hallmarks, they're higher numbers, but those serial numbers are 'customer numbers' iirc, or perhaps better put: Set Numbers, the customer buys the set and receives monthly shipments all with the same serial number, for the set
i might have a few details about the number, not correct, anyways

I've got no other Hamilton Bars with the hallmarks either...hoping for some help

here's a good site to use:
https://silverartcollector.com/mints/

i may have missed it if it's already been mentioned, but i'm sure others would agree, it's a good site

here's something kinda special...

MID-19TH CENTURY TO MID-20TH CENTURY SILVER BAR MADE BY THE IRRAWADDY COUNTING HOUSE OF RANGOON, BURMA

THIS COLONIAL OR TERRITORIAL BAR WAS ASSAYED DURING THE BRITISH ADMINISTRATION OF BURMA

OBV: OVAL CENTER STAMP WITH SCALES CENTER, STAT UPPER AND LOWER AND LEGEND "THE IRRAWADDY COUNTING HOUSE AT RANGOON", PURITY STAMPED "999 FINE" WITH A WEIGHT OF "5 TAELS" (5.05 OZS TOTAL WEIGHT)

REV: BLANK

THE IRRAWADY IS BURMA'S MAIN RIVER BUT IS ALSO AN ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT AND RANGOON (YANGOON) WAS BURMA'S ONE TIME CAPITAL

THESE BARS WERE PRODUCED FROM THE 1880'S TO THE EARLY 1940'S AND THIS EXAMPLE APPEARS TO BE QUITE OLD

THE CONQUEST OF BURMA BY THE BRITISH EMPIRE BEGAN IN 1824 TO PROTECT BRITISH INTERESTS IN INDIA

BY 1886 THE COUNTRY WAS ADDED TO THE BRITISH RAJ AND ADMINISTERED AS A PROVINCE OF INDIA UNTIL 1937, WHEN IT BECAME A SELF-GOVERNING TERRITORY

THE UNION OF BURMA BECAME AN INDEPENDENT STATE IN 1948 BUT HAS BEEN UNDER MILITARY CONTROL SINCE 1962 AND IS NOW CALLED THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNION OF MYANMAR

THIS HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE SILVER BAR CONTAINS 156.1 GRAMS OF .999 FINE SILVER (5.0193 OZS ASW)

55 MM LENGTH, 32 MM WIDE AND 12 MM THICK
There is a variation of this bar, in place of the Stars, there are Anchors

Use EBAY
Also the U.S. Coin "Red Book" has them in it too...
BUT Ebay is more on point for just about everything for a good ballpark figure...
I currently use eBay but I was hoping for something a little more straight forward like a simple PCGS or NGC price guide.
More like a one stop shop for info on their values.

Comic books are better so you are pretty smart.

Missed you dude I have been on self imposed exile or time out or vacation. Did not realize how much I missed everybody, always loved your posts and POV.
Those are the two hobbies i like a lot so i might as well take a step forward and do it as a side business. I love what i do.

Honestly, i have been busy with work and my business to the point that i only have enough time to just lurk.

No other sources on that, thanks rte for the added information. SA is probably the authority on this bar will wait to see what he says.
Not really a true authority. What Rte said. That 5th edition comes in handy. Greathouse bars with that reverse type are very hard to find imo.

Yep one of several rare bars from the 1970's. Awesome.

I have had some luck finding rare Greathouse bars but those so not show up very often at LCS and coin shows.

With spot in the $28-range, more rare and semi-rare bars came out of hiding and were showing up and LCS. Getting them for only .999 generic silver premiums is icing on the cake imo.

With spot at these levels, my strategy has been finding and buying rare and semi-rare '70's silver art bars for .999 generic silver premiums that (i think) will hold them premium if/when spot goes down ti $13-$14 (or lower)

TPoS ramp up has been sweet, I actually have been formulating a plan to recover those silver art bars I tossed out my bedroom window years ago.
