A Faster AR-15: CMMG MK IV in .22 Nosler
The VSO Gun Channel

Not every AR-15 needs to be "Tactical", Black or menacing. AR15s have morphed into modern sporting rifles that can be used for a variety of purposes, Defense, Training, Target Shooting, Plinking, competition, Long Range, and of course hunting. In recent years we have seen the emergence of a variety of new calibers to go along with the trend in ARs. Today we are going to be looking at CMMG's iteration of the Tactical hunter with the addition of .22 Nosler to their line of MK IVs. .22 Nosler is a modern rendering of the .22-250 cartridge for use in Semi-auto rifles like the AR-15. From the .223 Remington cartridge it offers a 25% increase in case capacity, yielding higher velocities, and a flatter shooting round. It was announced at Shot Show 2017. This V2 variant of CMMG;s Rifle is comprised of the following:
24" Fluted Medium taper 416 Stainless Steel Barrel, RKM-14 Keymod Handguard, Forged 7075 Receivers, Magpul furniture, Geissele Trigger, and a variety of color schemes. The rifle runs off standard 6.8 SPC Magazines

You know I was looking for the horse trading thread but I think this will do. I had placed into my hands a half gallon of vodka and an upper for an AR-15 and guess what I have more use for? Right, I'm all tatered up on the juice and have this lovely flat black, looks very new, as in not used like ever, upper for a pee-shooter. there are a few scuff's from rolling around or being bumped but there are no wear marks as in a bolt slid through the thing.

yes folks it is what you think with dust cover and forward assist. I have no use for it though it does look cute.

So what is a guy to do? I looked around and searched part sites which list uppers but when I clik on them and read they don't list them.....so question: Is this part like a never never part? The punch part of the assist seems to be a diffirent color but I woke up this morning seeing double with one eye closed; yes I switched eyes and twas still the same; so? Bidders? just pm cuz I really do not have any idea what this is worth. Oh wait a minute I do! As I have a bachelors party coming up and I feel the need for some bouncing bountiful buxom cutie to bust out of a cake I will trade for a 50 year old virgin of the defiantly female type.

OK, done having fun now....really I have an upper for a pee-shooter of the 15 type and have no use for it.....so what do I do because I do not need this paper weight.

edit: it looks just like this; http://www.cabelas.com/product/ANDE...20&gclid=CInlx82FodcCFQbADQodbXkINw&gclsrc=ds

First time shooting the 22 Nosler AR15

I had first heard about the 22 Nosler cartridge from youtube videos from SHOT show 2017. The specs intrigued me. Just swap out the barrel and buy some 6.8spc magazines and you can shoot a .223 projectile at 3,400fps. Thats impressive.

That being said, I contacted the guys at Odin Works because I knew they produce a 22 Nosler barrel. They were gracious enough to send me an 18" barrel as well as a few Odin Works extras to build a rifle for testing.

It took me a while to round up all the parts I needed to complete the build but I eventually tracked everything down. In this video you see my friend and I shoot it for the very first time at 100 yards then 400 yards.

As you can see in the video....we were blown away at how fast the round flew down range and how easy it was to make consistent center mass hits at 400 yards. We would have went further but 400 yards is as far as we could go at this range.

Now that I know 22 Nosler is a good performer, I will take the rifle out to 500, 600 and maybe even more? The projectile is still small and light so I doubt it will do 600 or more with ease but it will be fun to test.

Stay tuned for more videos of the 22 Nosler in the weeks following Shot Show 2018.
