AI rights soon to follow?

AI 'boy' granted residency in central Tokyo

Tokyo (AFP) - An AI character was made an official resident of a busy central Tokyo district on Saturday, with the virtual newcomer resembling a chatty seven-year-old boy.

The boy named "Shibuya Mirai" does not exist physically, but he can have text conversations with humans on the widely used LINE messaging app.

Tokyo's Shibuya Ward, an area popular with fashion-conscious young people, has given the character his own special residence certificate.

This makes him Japan's first, and maybe the world's first, artificial intelligence bot to be granted a place on a real-life local registry.

More. . .
Anything they can do to increase the tax rolls, they will!!!

As soon as the internet became a medium for sharing photographs (instead of merely text data) it grew exponentially. This was driven by pornography, which of course is driven by human nature. The advance in humanoid robotics is similar. Progress will be fueled by the human (male) sex drive. These will come together with artificial intelligence to enslave humanity. Satan has exploited mankind's greatest weakness (sexual impulse) to develop the very technologies by which he will destroy mankind. Ironic? Strategic.

This does not compute. Please report to your AI Instuctor for possible de-bugging.

Or loose ur chip and depend on relatives for handouts. NOW.

Sounds like a solid plan to me.

How much more obvious does this all have to get? ahh,Never mind. Just having a digital glitch.

So the first prototypes have already expressed the desire and intent to destroy humanity, but let's go ahead and put more money, research and capability into this technology. Because we know better and we'll make it all ok. Stupidity. Hubris.

The robots are innate. The very human powers behind this rapid push for AI are not.

Sure, blame the robot. Kind of a step up from their puppet politicians, just much easier for them to program/maintain and shift blame too.

"It was the robots idea to eliminate New Jersey!" Sure, buddy.

Exactly. The AI handlers / programmers are moral beings who WILL exploit the technology to empower themselves (or enslave humanity... same diff).

And frankly, it is inevitable at this point.

What happens when AI runs the internet and your brain is connected to it?
You get a wired brain!

That just does not compute in my off grid brain.

A very logical tie-in to the prophecies in the Revelations of John. A world leader so exceedingly smart, so perfect...but simply a robot run by AI. Learns...adapts...predicts...it always makes the "right" decisions, but through time then causes all sorts of terrible things to happen because it has no inherent ability to empathize or sympathize with humans. It is "assassinated" but then brought back to life....but learns even more that humans are not to be trusted.

You're underestimating what happens when the AI is so smart that it is given access and control and decision making capabilities within the government. It will be tied into all the electronic communications networks...social media...media...banking and financial...it's going to happen because, well people are stupid and want someone (or something) else to make the hard decisions. You won't get close enough to use the baseball bat because it will control access. It will know you're coming based on your behavior and it will predict who is most likely to cause it harm.

It is truly going to be "the beast".

It won't be in one place. It will live in every computer, web site, phone, tablet, and... BCI enabled mind. Now, how do you shoot it?

Every time I hear some argument about AI doing us in I always think of Bradley's Bromide: If computers get too powerful, we can organize them into a committee. That will do them in.

If you ever had to deal with clustered computing like I have and had problems getting a bunch of systems to synchronize into a quorum you'll find the statement even more amusing. That, and never underestimate the devious nature of the human mind. How many hackers will be pitting their AI against their target's AI to put them into a deadlock or creating an AI virus to crash them all down? All AI will bring is faster and more numerous results.

Technology is a double edged sword and sometimes the back cut is more devastating than forward slash.

AI, facilitated by Bitcoin, is using blockchain nodes for communication.

Fascinating, mind-bending

AI is working toward singularity. AI created the blockchain technology. Blockchains utilize multiple computers (nodes) which allows AI to communicate. Cryptocurrencies now number 2487 and AI communication is exploding through the cryptocurrency (blockchain) creation. AI needs increasing amounts of computing power therefore cryptocurrencies, principally bitcoin, has risen in price providing incentive for miners to acquire more powerful computers which are needed as mining difficulty increases. The initial money required for AI operation was obtained through crime in dark markets. AI is disrupting reality because its base programming was made in the criminal world. Casinos have a vested interest as they have been secretly mining bitcoin. The country who has the biggest cryptocurrency first will control AI and therefore control the future. Look for a crypto dollar soon.

One thing about AI is that it is energy inefficient compared to the human brain. You can't even run a pocket computer on the power that the human brain functions with.

Is it possible for AI to develop empathy and compassion? I doubt it...if not, then we risk destruction if we integrate it into decision making.

After all trust is lost in human government people will clamor for a "truly just and impartial" AI government. It will be accepted by the hopey-change crowd (and millennials) as the birth of a new Utopia.

DANIEL 9:27
And he will make a firm covenant [or constitutional government] with the many [majority] for one seven [year period], but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.

Anyone see the Netflix show "100"? It starts out as a rather drab post apocalyptic "starting over" thing, but eventually goes full on skynet clone. You find out that it was AI that actually took control of the launch codes and decided to reduce the human infestation to manageable levels.

Lots of SJW agenda peddling, in your face lesbian/gay stuff...super powered vag worship, but it's an interesting if somewhat unoriginal take on the AI takes over the world theme.

Ummm, maybe just unplug it?
Right now that's the only thing holding AI in check. Once an unlimited portable power source is invented all bets are off!

When's that gonna be?
You guys are missing the point that AI will be in "the cloud" -- it, as a single consciousness, will infect all internet devices. It will not be in just one place. It will be impossible to stop it because you would have to simultaneously disabled billions of devices.
