The AMG GT R Likes to Go SIDEWAYS!
Shmee150

Published on Dec 18, 2016
The Mercedes-AMG GT R features a GT3 derived 9-stage traction control system that's managed via a central dashboard toggle. Similarly to the full spec race car, it offers the driver various programmed stages of the traction control systems for optimum performance... and fun!

Jumping into a GT R with Jan Seyffarth, AMG GT3 and Driving Academy driver, we run through the motions to demonstrate how this works and the different options available to the driver. Finally, Jan shows us how it's done with some seriously quick laps in the Beast of the Green Hill; following the car setting a 7:10 record time for a rear-wheel-drive car at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

You can find Jan at:
https://www.instagram.com/janseyffarth

Thanks for watching, Tim

ETCG's Top 5 Pet Peeves About Auto Repair Customers
ETCG1

Published on Dec 19, 2016
This one actually comes in by suggestion. I wish I could remember from where, but I thought it was a great idea.

We all have things that bug us about the jobs we do. In this video I talk about some of the things that auto repair customers do that I find annoying. Well, to be fair, it's not all their fault. Still, these things do bug me.

I have a feeling this one will spark a lot of discussion. Please keep in mind this is just a response to a viewer request. I don't sit around thinking about all the things that customers do to bug me, or anyone else for that matter. If not for customers, I'd be out of a job.

That said, there are times when the job can get annoying. Here is my list of things that I feel contribute to that.

Lastly, as for waiters, I realize there often isn't a choice. As I said in the video, it's not the waiters so much as the timing that can get annoying. Customers have nothing to do with that. It's really just part of the job.

Feel free to leave comments about what bothers you about auto repair customers.

If you'd like to make a suggestion about a future show you can post it here: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/...

Intro music by Eric Cook "ETCG1 Intro".

My Final Supercar Event Of 2016

I attend the Icons By The Lake event - my final super event of 2016 and it's a pretty awesome one.

The star attraction was the brand new Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya along with an Aston Martin GT8, three Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradales and a number of other unique cars.

I also saw a McLaren 540C in the flesh for the first time, a car I have become particularly obsessed with recently.

Shop Talk: Ep. 11: Old School Methods still work in a modern world
Justin Dow

"To be the best, learn from the best."

You ever stop consider, "Man that guy has been here forever. He must have been there when this manufacture was first developed." lol Well that may not be completely accurate; However chances are they no a thing or two about thinking outside of the box. Here's my mini rendition of what I have witnessed over the years and have learned from the "Old Schooler's." Many of these practices are still used and still work today. Enjoy and Cheers!

Attached is a movie clip from the movie "Old School."

- Because it's funny Damit! lol

Straight Axle Dragsters And Gassers: Gasser Drag Cars And Straight Axle Drag Cars
Muncle Mikes

Published on Oct 6, 2016
Straight Axle Dragster And Straight Axle Gasser Cars, Trucks And Vans!

A gasser is a type of hot rod originating on the dragstrips of the United States in the late 1950s and continued until the early 1970s. Gassers are based on production models from the 1930s to mid-1960s, which have been stripped of extraneous weight and jacked up using a beam axle to provide better weight distribution on acceleration (beam axles are also lighter than an independent front suspension), though a raised stock front suspension is common as well. Common weight reduction techniques include fiberglass body panels, stripped interiors and plexiglass windows (sometimes color tinted).

Engine
Because they were primarily built for racing, these cars typically had the engine swapped to a larger or more powerful one, or the existing stock engine modified (often heavily). It was very common to fit a Roots supercharger modified from original use on General Motors two-cycle diesel truck engines and mechanical fuel injection, manufactured by Algon, Hilborn, or Crower.

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air gasser
With form being dictated by function, their appearance is often very top heavy and ungainly, largely due to front ends being raised higher than stock, to assist in the weight transfer during rapid acceleration (racing).[1] Having their exhaust pipes exit through the front fender well is a common characteristic of gassers, as is having bodies painted in flamboyant metalflakes, pearls, and candy finishes complemented by lettering in wild fonts. Most gassers also had ladder bars.

The name arose because they competed in a gasoline-fueled drag racing class, rather than one using methanol or nitromethane.

The gasser is the predecessor of the modern funny car
