The Kershaw Knockout Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
Nick Shabazz

Published on Feb 2, 2018
The Kershaw Knockout is an interesting knife, providing higher-end finishing at a mid-range price. Although it's not without its downsides, on the whole, it's another nice piece from Kershaw's USA factory.

Well, that's disappointing. Nick went through the new inventory of about a dozen knife makers and there was nothing that looked compelling enough for me to even consider adding to my collection. Maybe all the best design ideas and materials have already been done. How many ways can you design a knife, really?

The Thorburn and Van Heerden A2 A3 Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
Nick Shabazz

Published on Feb 28, 2018
Today, we review a big knife with a stellar action, the A2 A3 Wharncliffe knife. A collaboration by Andre Thorburn and Andre Van Heerden, it's got nice build, nice construction, and a simply incredible action. Unfortunately, though, it's huge, thick, expensive, and not built to be maintained.

So, it's a great collector's piece, and a stellar safe queen, but ultimately, it's not a knife for me.

The Hoback Knives MKUltra Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
Nick Shabazz

Published on Mar 3, 2018
The MKUltra by Jake Hoback is a very nice, very small, very high-end knife, a tiny version of the hugely popular Hoback Kwaiback. Even if the name's a bit creepy, the price is pretty high, and the religious symbols are a bit mandatory, it's an absolutely wonderful small option, and is a little knife that I will absolutely be recommending in the future.

The Spyderco Resilience Pocketknife: The Full Nick Shabazz Review
Nick Shabazz

Published on Mar 10, 2018
The Spyderco Resilience is another entry in Spyderco's lineup of budget pocketknives. It's, put simply, fine. It's not a great knife, not a great value, and doesn't stack up so well against the competition, but it's fine. So, if it's what you can get, that's fine. But if you've got choices, you're probably better off using them.

Nick disassembles and maintains a Thorburn L28 IKBS Pocketknife
Nick Shabazz

Published on Mar 9, 2018
Today, we're going to do a more involved disassembly than most, when we disassemble, clean, and reassemble an Andre Thorburn L28 pocketknife, which uses the IKBS bearing system. It takes a while, but the action is better, for sure, and the stop-pin rock is definitely reduced.
