I didn't have a "Dog in the Fight" last night. I like both due to their droughts.
If you ever got into baseball even when you were a kid last night was TOP Entertainment, and a great way to end a season and ONE drought.
Wikileaks has announced that later today they will present indisputable evidence that the Cleveland Indians won the World Series. Wikileaks alleges that Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton conspired to dupe the public with an amazing CGI animation of the final inning of the game. Allegedly the rain delay was a false flag operation during which the game’s live broadcast was intercepted and replaced with state of the art animations created by known Russian hackers.
The FBI is investigating. Early reports indicate that all 36,000 fans in attendance are missing and presumed dead. The public should expect further updates after the election.
Hillary Clinton was quoted as saying, “Of course the Cubs won. It’s the least I could do for outgoing President Obama. A Cubs World Series win allows him to save face with all those he left behind in Chicago.”.
Donald Trump followed with how own thoughts. “Baseball is a great American game that Crooked Hillary has destroyed. Under my administration we will make baseball great again, and bring another World Series back to New York.”.
Gary Johnson was quoted as asking, “Where’s Chicago?”.
Just take a look at the Cubs. Players from South America, Asia, etc. Willson Contreras, for instance, is from Venezuela. His parents were still there all summer long. He was found after the game crying and hiding his face from the cameras. He explained that he had come to this country alone and that the team had been his "family." He wanted them to win so desperately; that's where his emotion came from. Some of the guys can barely speak English. The sport is populated by an international group of players.
And many thousands of folks at Dick's Sporting Goods to buy Cubs apparel. The place was mobbed; checkout lines were terribly long--reached to the back of the store and zigzagged down the isles. Sam bought me a Cubs World Series hoody at Dick's and my David Ross Cubs #3 Jersey arrived today all the way from China. An embarrassment of riches, LOL.
Consumptionism in all it's many forms is good for the Country more than it's bad for any community.
At the street level, buying things keeps things going, both here and in China and all points in between, to some degree
Let the people play :)
I bet, in 100 years, there will still be so much available, it'll drop in value
I'm going to wait
But what's up with dying the rivers blue? And where are all the greenies and the DNR on this? I suppose they're all Cubs fans first and to hell with the ecology for now...
Brings to mind a few years ago when the local Tea Party chapter was staging a protest on the Burlington Street bridge here in town. They figured on about 40 people. Some of them were going to pour symbolic cups of tea into the river for effect. Nope. The DNR and cops were all posted and promised to haul anyone off to jail if they so much as spit their tea into the river... Tea...
Maybe if it was a Hawkeye fan club they could have pulled it off.
Ecological Regulations are tools for the PROGS. ( Communists) and GREENIES to use as weapons to increase revenue in their coffers for THEIR agendas.
CHICAGO is PROG Central so their is no issue with them violating their own laws.
You Know :
" DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO".
the Red Sox broke my heart back in 86 and I felt robbed and cheated until 2004. At that point I considered the matter closed and waked away from that level of mental sports fandom. I now simply enjoy the games and don't hang on every play any more (well, except for maybe the Pats....and I'm working on them too but they're different in my sick little mind)
