Well, I really liked the coin so I bought one 5 oz and one 1 oz Proof.

I was a 13 year old kid when they landed on the moon and remember that night.
So I thought it would be cool to own. And both are .999 Silver.:dancing guy

The mint is likely to lift purchasing limits once the initial ordering phase is over with. I do agree that the gold unc will carry the lowest mintage of the grouping. Whether or not that translates into an increase in post issue market price remains to be seen.
No sooner said than done.

The first day sales have been reported on Coin News:

http://www.coinnews.net/2019/01/25/apollo-11-commemorative-coin-sales-reach-296311-in-first-day/

2019-P Proof $1 Five Ounce Silver Coin 51,271 $11,533,411.45
2019-W Uncirculated $5 Gold Coin 7,781 $3,180,483.75

Stronger sales than I anticipated, and mintage numbers will be high across the board.

But these coins will continue to have selling power for the foreseeable future.

Like the pucks did? :totally steamed:
Sit Tight...
Hope you are OKAY; five years older right? Don't get too grouchy...

Bought a bunch of the SP70 Hawaii's, Denali's, Acadia's and they turned out okay for now for flipping (which I do not do - around 15,000 mintage) -
all the rest from 2010 to NOW are in a separate basket of somewhat protected graded US collectables that will turn out okay over the long term.

Fun to see the full set taking up the entire dining room set... LOL

I still like the whole set of SPs because they are all under 20,000 mintage in silver - but that's me...
I still like all the spouses too because they were really low mintage in gold - but that's me...

They also are pretty on the dining room table especially the separate sub sets of Mercante's...
with the reverse PCGS labels... darn expensive now too...

Buy it if you like it. Platinum is cheap now but the premium on this thing is pretty steep. Very unlikely there will be much of a short term flipping opportunity. I personally love the proof platinum set. I collected one from each year until 2007 when they spiked way up. I sold and then started reassembling the set when prices came down a few years later.

Gold Proof 5 dollar and 5 ounce puck are currently on back order. This series has a lot of uniqueness which is going to be highly collectible IMO. Puck is WAY overpriced, but so was the Ultra High Relief 2009 1 oz gold Saint- Gaudens and it has kept its value.
