I’m sure this has absolutely nothing to do with LIBOR

Dear Derek,

Stabbing yourself repeatedly to death is like shooting yourself in the back of the head with a hunting rifle, a tad suspect.

'Stressed' Bank of England official stabbed self to death
A Bank of England manager stabbed himself to death due to the over-whelming pressure he was under at work, an inquest has heard.

The body of Christopher Dymond, 52, was discovered in a secluded car park in Herongate, Essex, after his family had reported him missing.

A post-mortem revealed Mr Dymond died from self-inflicted stab wounds to his chest and cuts to his arms.
His grieving father, Denis Dymond, told an inquest: "Our over-arching point of view is that Chris's death came about because of intense anxiety which was work-related.

"He was let down in the duty of care by his employers."

The father-of-three had been reported missing by his concerned family at around 10.30pm on April 21 this year after they were unable to contact him.

Police launched a full-scale search and discovered the body early the following morning four miles from the family home in a car park at Herongate Athletic Football Club.

A note was found addressed to his wife, Sharon, with whom he lived at the family's home in Shenfield, Essex.
Coroner Mrs Caroline Beasley-Murray said there were no suspicious circumstances and recorded a verdict of suicide at an inquest held in Chelmsford, Essex.

She said: "It is patently clear from what Mr Dymond expressed in the note that he was suffering extreme anxiety about work-related matters."

Mr Dymond is believed to have been heavily involved in the transfer of responsibility and power for bank regulation from the Financial Services Authority to the Bank of England in the weeks leading up to his death in his role managing IT services.

His colleagues at the Bank of England released a tribute at the time of his death saying: "Chris Dymond was a highly valued colleague to all those that worked with him.

"He was extremely well known and a popular member of staff. He will be very much missed here at the bank. Our sympathies and thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."

JPMorgan Technology VP Dies in Fall From London Headquarters

Apparently, too good for hanging like the other guy...?

JPMorgan Technology VP Dies in Fall From London Headquarters
By Ben Moshinsky and Ambereen Choudhury Jan 28, 2014

A vice president in technology operations, Gabriel Magee, died after falling from JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM)’s London headquarters, the bank said today.

The 39-year-old fell from 25 Bank Street in the Canary Wharf area onto a ninth-floor roof, London’s Metropolitan Police said, having been called to the scene at 8:02 this morning.

Magee had worked for JPMorgan since 2004 in the corporate and investment bank’s technology support department, the New York-based lender said in a statement.

“We are deeply saddened to have lost a member of the JPMorgan family at 25 Bank Street today,” said Jennifer Zuccarelli, a spokeswoman for JPMorgan in London. “Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family and his friends.”

The 11-year-old skyscraper is 33 stories high, according to building-data provider Emporis. It was formerly the European headquarters of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., which filed for the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history in 2008. The police are not treating the death as suspicious and no arrests have been made.

JPMorgan took over the office and began moving investment banking staff over to the building in January 2012, according to the lender’s website.

Re: JPMorgan Technology VP Dies in Fall From London Headquarters

Funny,
I tried to find other stories in which a "truth seeking journalist" would give the rest of the story.
Like: "wall of skyscraper mysteriously opens up & top executive is sucked to his death"

If a truck driver commits suicide reporters are all over trying to dig up details of job loss, wife left him etc.
The silence is deafening.

The building is obviously unsafe. It should be evacuated immediately.

Third Banker, Former Fed Member, "Found Dead" Inside A Week

Third Banker, Former Fed Member, "Found Dead" Inside A Week

If the stock market were already crashing then it would be simple to blame the dismally sad rash of dead bankers in the last week on that - certainly that was reflected in 1929. However, for the third time in the last week, a senior financial executive has died in what appears to be a suicide. As Bloomberg reports, following the deaths of a JPMorgan senior manager (Tuesday) and a Deutsche Bank executive (Sunday), Russell Investments' Chief Economist (and former Fed economist) Mike Dueker was found dead at the side of a highway in Washington State. Police said the death appeared to be a suicide.

Via Bloomberg,

Mike Dueker, the chief economist at Russell Investments, was found dead at the side of a highway that leads to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington state, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. He was 50.

He may have jumped over a 4-foot (1.2-meter) fence before falling down a 40- to 50-foot embankment, Pierce County Detective Ed Troyer said yesterday. He said the death appeared to be a suicide.

Dueker was reported missing on Jan. 29, and a group of friends had been searching for him along with law enforcement. Troyer said Dueker was having problems at work, without elaborating.

Dueker was in good standing at Russell, said Jennifer Tice, a company spokeswoman. She declined to comment on Troyer’s statement about Dueker’s work issues.
But as Michael Snyder noted recently, if the stock market was already crashing, it would be easy to blame the suicides on that. The world certainly remembers what happened during the crash of 1929...

Historically, bankers have been stereotyped as the most likely to commit suicide. This has a lot to do with the famous 1929 stock market crash, which resulted in 1,616 banks failing and more than 20,000 businesses going bankrupt.

The number of bankers committing suicide directly after the crash is thought to have been only around 20, with another 100 people connected to the financial industry dying at their own hand within the year.
Dueker had also been a research economist at the St. Louis Fed:

He published dozens of research papers over the past two decades, many on monetary policy, according to the St. Louis Fed’s website, which ranks him among the top 5 percent of economists by number of works published. His most-cited work was a 1997 paper titled “Strengthening the case for the yield curve as a predictor of U.S. recessions,” published by the reserve bank while he was a researcher there.
So, with stocks a mere 4% off their highs, are so many high ranking and well respected bankers committing suicide?

Re: Third Banker, Former Fed Member, "Found Dead" Inside A Week

How is "falling down an embankment" considered suicide? One can't help but wonder if perhaps if he was trying to get away from someone else? Either that or wanted to see what was on the other side and fell--which would be an accident.

...
First Man Did you see somebody go past the window?
Second Man What?
First Man Somebody just went past the window. That way. (indicates down)
Second Man (flatly) Oh. Oh.
Second Man returns to his work. First Man looks for a little. As he starts to work again another body goes hurtling past the window.
First Man Another one.
Second Man Huh?
First Man Another one just went past downwards.
Second Man What?
First Man Two people have just fallen out of that window to their almost certain death.
Second Man Fine, fine. Fine.
First Man Look! Two people (another falls) three people have just fallen past that window.
Second Man Must be a board meeting.

What are the odds that during Great Depression only 20 bankers committed suicide but in a week we have already had 3. Things aren't even melting down yet.

Re: Third Banker, Former Fed Member, "Found Dead" Inside A Week

Didn't Shakespeare have saying about this ? Like one dead lawyer/ banker is considered a good start or something like that
I had heard it as: "What is 1000 dead lawyers, on the bottom of the ocean? A good start!"

Sooo, "What is 3 dead banksters found dead in Wall Street. A good start ??"

Probably not Shakespeare, ohhhh well :vollkommenauf:
