WHere the heck is the trading forum here? do I need to be a member I forgot. Any who's it.

I got like 80 internet domain names I need to trim down before renewal $. I'm not gonna list them at this time in the open. Yet would be glad to provide prospective buyers with list. Possible niche related domains with ranking Kw's. `Some more developed then others. Can even do a complete affiliate site for your AFF ID. Just putting them out here too cause I gotta get this done.

This will probably bore ya.
Yesterday I booked the day off to go North a few hours to look at a boat and then a van. Just happened to be a Saturday so garage sales by the dozen as well. Got to Cold lake and met a sleazy greasy fella with a boat that I wouldn't have give him a buck for. So I went to a 8 garage sales that were the poorest I've ever seen. Made the error of buying a breakfast in a restaurant that made me need a pooh so bad I had my roll of paper towel ready as I looked for a can on my way to look at the van in another town. Came across an Indian casino so pulled in to use their John. Was thinking of a buddy who's pet peave is folk who use the restroom at his garage/c store who never buy anything. Soooo I decided to donate $10 to a machine, 1 cent unit that I bet $2.50 a spin thinking this would be quick. 4th spin I hit the stop button and be dambed if 9 diamonds didn't appear. 250,000 credits:oops:. Hadda wait for them to pay me the $2,500:thumbs down:.
Got up and went to look at the van I was now sure I'd buy to replace the one I was in that has 310,000 kilometers on it with one with 161,000. Frick was I pissed when it was not worth as much as the boat. So I spent the rest of the day garage saleing at more of the worst I've ever seen. I bought 8 cd's fat 50 cents each or 4 for a $1.50, gave the old girl 2 toonies and she said thanks. I just stood there until she asked,"What"? I said what the deal was and she grudgingly gave me a loonie. This left a bad taste in my mouth that I decided to wash down with a chocalate milk shake and a strawberry sundae fro DQ. Bill there was $10.90 so I handed him a $50 bill, he handed me $29.10 in change:thumbs down::thumbs down:. I pointed out the possible error and he couldn't get in the till. Got the manager and I'm really not happy by now so told the manager to just give me back my 50 and I would leave as I figured I was either being tried to be ripped off[guess I look stupid]:don't know2: or this person was so dumb that I didn't want to eat/drink what he made. Got my $50 and stopped to pick up a bag of chips to eat with my water at a cstore. Fn middle easterner want $5.90 for the chips so I drank water from home on the way home.
Stopped and saw our lads new hogs and 18 month old daughter who has no fear of animals what so ever.:finished 2: Then had a day old wobbly fawn try committing suicide that only good driving and more luck defied the experience. Home at 8.30 when a thunder shower dropped us a 1/2 inch of moisture.

Just kinda/sorta shows that a good day of bartering horse trading that didn't work well can still be a good day.:spring:

Flea Market Selling - Back to Back Days

I have had some good luck finding '70's silver art bars and silver bullion coins at the flea market. The flea market scene works if you have knowledge of what you are trying to find and what price you are trying to pay for that item to make it worth reselling for a net profit (after fees and shipping). You make money on the buy.

So far for June 2018 (as of 8:45 PM EST, Saturday June 30, 2018), based on my sales figures, I sold a total of 59.89 troy oz's of silver which generated a June 2018 gross sales amount of $2,343.11. That is an average of $39.12/oz that I am getting when I sell on ebay. It is still too early to know exactly but after ebay and paypal fees, shipping cost and costs of buying more shipping tape and buying more bubble envelopes and bubble wrap. I will clear around $610-$630 of net profit for June 2018. Depending on what my final numbers will be, this could be either my 2nd best month or my 3rd best month of 2018. From the time when I officially opened my ebay/online business on January 2, 2018 to now (June 30, 2018), I think that I have gross sales of $10K or very close to it. I am not sure yet since I have not completed my spreadsheets yet.

I was saving part of my June net profits but today and yesterday, I went to the bank (yesterday and today) to withdraw all of my June 2018 net profits that I saved up as well as withdrawing net profits from the previous 4 months that I saved up. I used a majority of those FRNs to expand my ebay store and grow my business by buying more '70's silver art bars and some collectible silver coins for resale. I did use some of my net profits to buy a few '70's silver art bars for myself to add to my personal collection.

Hopefully the 2nd half of 2018 will be as good (or better) than the 1st half of 2018. I will just have to see what happens.

Farkin A Josey! That's a half ounce of......GOLD!

Very well done sir! Very well done!

Thank you. I feel very good about it. If I can continue to expand my selections on ebay and expand my ebay business and increase my gross sales and my net profit figures, then, in the future, I might start to think about saving some of my future net profits to buy some gold with it. It is something for me to think about anyway. Technically I now have two incomes. My main income is my regular full-time job (working between 40-60 hours a week) and my second income is my ebay/online Schedule C business which currently generates anywhere between $130 - $830 of net profit per month. I work my business part-time for the time being. I am not making nearly enough to make it a full-time gig. That could take years (if ever) for me to achieve quitting my job and doing it full-time. I would need to sell at lot more oz's of silver to do it as a full-time gig.

The life of a scavenger affords certain mental luxuries, like waking up and thinking "I wonder what I will do/achive/find/sell today", which isn't always the way it is with a traditional job. We live in rural America, and we are Scavengers -- especially when it comes to making money on eBay by selling items we find in or near the waste stream, at auctions, yard sales and thrift stores. This allows us to avoid full time jobs, which gives us more time to scavenge and enjoy our lives. It's a positive reinforcing cycle.

We are eBay Top Rated + Power Sellers. Each week we post a couple 1 hour long podcasts sharing stories about our eBay selling. We welcome all questions and stories of your own eBay experiences. Sharing helps make us all better Scavengers.

Street Scrap Early Morning Trial in the Rain
eWaste Ben

Published on Jul 7, 2018
I tried an early morning Saturday to see if the early scrap was from Friday afternoon or from during the whole week, looks like a lot is put out very early in the week so it was no different to a Saturday lunchtime start.

next week i'll try Friday afternoon to see if most of the stuff is put out that day, if so it will give me a jump on the early fresh stuff and might replace Saturday all together, leaving me with a scrapping clear up day before the big Sunday's.

keep scrapping & have fun!

Hi everyone; I haven’t written since last November although I have wanted to many, many times. My life has taken me in several different directions within the last couple of years. It seems that as time passes I am becoming more involved in helping with the retirement home I have written about in a past post. This along with new friends, family problems, neighbor issues, developing the 10 acres I live on and health issues. My cup overruneth.

For most folks it seems that they expect to retire with the time to sleep in, goof off, play golf, travel and live better than they did when they were in their productive decades. So what is wrong with my life ?

Heck, right now I have three old diesel Volkswagens in front of my garage that are being dismantled for the engines, transmissions and body parts in case someone needs them in the future. And I sold another three unrestored Volkswagens in the last couple of weeks. In addition, there are four other Volkswagens and a three cylinder Chevy Sprint that need to be processed. After all that being done, I still have to finish cosmetics on my personal VW Scirocco that I have converted to diesel power and a special ratio transmission that should get about 65 MPG on the freeway. Now that Scirocco motivates me to get all of the aforementioned “stuff” out of the way first. I can’t wait to drive it on the freeway to find out just how many miles per gallon it gets. Imagine a license plate that says, 65MPGFWY ! Yep, that is my crazy goal.

We all need something that drives us to get off the couch and pursue a dream. I’m fortunate to have more than one something. This retirement home motivates me to see how much can be accomplished with the little social security money I receive (eight hundred and some dollars plus food stamps). The first day I went there a couple of years ago I opened the door and walked down the hall amidst folks some who were in wheelchairs missing a leg, some had Alzheimer’s, some were on their last precious years and some had their wits and somewhat content with their situation. Their clothing was all too often worn out, with holes. Most of them were depressed and their body language needed no words to express their sadness. For some reason I was not depressed but became angry. Yes, angry that all these were meted out $2 per day by the government subsidized program. Hell, almost half of the world population lives on $2 per day; is THIS how we treat our retired citizens in what is supposed to be the richest nation on earth ?

Here is where my bartering and horsetrading skills kick in. The folks in my rest home were practically in rags when I first arrived. I got their clothing sizes and began to hit the local estate and garage sales and found loads of perfectly nice clothing and shoes; also winter coats and blankets. Each time I had a load I took it to the retirement home where we went through the clothes and they got to pick out what they liked. I also took different kinds of candy and some of my hand rolled cigarettes. We would sit around outside discussing many different topics and have a few laughs. Now I even take a joke book and a quote book along.

Something unusual happened a couple of months ago. One of the first residents who became close to me (and her roommate) wanted a Bible, one with large print. I had already given away about 40 Bibles but they were small print. The next day I was in my favorite thrift store asking for a large print Bible. The people there knew me as “veggie Dave”; I had been delivering fruits and vegetables three or four times a week for the past few years. They were always so anxious to help me that it was almost embarrassing. HaHa I looked through the large book section and couldn’t find what I needed so I went in the back of the store where the loading dock was and talked to the manager who told me that he had recently received some bibles but they were still in boxes and hadn’t yet been put on the shelves. I looked through about 10 boxes of books and found nothing. A stranger came out of nowhere and said that there were more boxes of books around the corner. I looked there and found two Bibles. The personal one had large print as well as was a King James early version with red lettering in the New Testament (you know, what Jesus said). Mission accomplished !

But that’s not all; the other Bible was a bicentennial edition, also with red lettering and large print. Additionally, there was a humongous quantity of reading material and color pictures of famous Christian paintings. I guess these Bibles would be called heritage Bibles to be passed down through the generations. There were even pages for the owner to fill in their lives and four of their childrens’ lives. I got goosebumps ! I felt as though the Lord was smiling upon me.

I couldn’t wait to get home and review the contents of this six and a half pound Bible. As I leafed through the pages I became more excited as I realized that this Bible had everything I could have asked for. I have thousands of books but compared to this Bible nothing could hold a candle (duh). Imagine the word of God put into a Bible that could touch the very soul of anyone who possessed it. Yeah, that is how I feel when handling one of these Bibles. This is the kind of large Bible that would be perfectly happy sitting open on a pedestal (or in a lap).

Next I got on the internet and began buying these bicentennial Bibles, as many as I could afford at the time. They began coming in from all over the country. My mailman even asked what they were so I opened one and offered it to him but he politely refused. A few weeks ago I had bought one Bible that was brand new and the seller said that he had more new Bibles. I contacted him and he said that he had three more new Bibles. I bought them all and they will be here in a few days.

I must also add that when I gave the first smaller large print Bible that the lady was very happy. A couple of weeks when I delivered the large Bible, the lady was the most joyfully excited I have ever seen her. This is the key reason that I am so driven to get as many of these Bibles into the hands of those who will read and cherish them.

Today one Bible arrived; so far so good. But there was a letter containing a check from an annuity; it was thousands of dollars. I hadn’t received a windfall like this for over a decade. It seems that the door has been opened for me.

So now you know a bit of what I have been doing for the last couple of years. If I did not have the skills of bartering and horsetrading I would not have been led to the blessings I am now enjoying.

At my age and health and the uncertainty in the world I have only so much time left to do what I dream of, spreading the word of God and the forgiveness of Christ. One Bible at a time and each time has a story behind it.
If any of you find it in your heart to do the same I will be happy to help you find what you need. If you go to a subsidized retirement home like mine and feel the need to help, your bartering and horsetrading skills will be instrumental. I should also mention that it is deeply satisfying and outright fun to help others.

When President Trump stated that he would Make America Great Again (MAGA), I took it to mean that we ALL should do our part to Make America Great Again. My example is just a small way of doing my part but if millions and millions of Americans together do what we can, the world movement would flourish in a hope for a world of faith, hope and the greatest of these, charity. And by the way, charity means love, not a handout.

I’m just a grain of sand on the beach but together the multitudes make up the beach. Come join me at the beach and we’ll play together while making America (and the world) Great like it should be.

Best wishes,
Agnut

P.S. Has anyone connected that an ounce of silver in the hands of Venezuelan citizens will provide six months of food ? Can you imagine that if we were to each donate even one ounce from our “blessing” to these desperate people; it would also send a message to the world concerning the difference between worthless fiat currency and real money. I have been trying to figure how this could be accomplished without governmental interference. Wouldn’t that be a hoot ? A win-win ? Millions of one ounce silver “grains of sand” would make up a spectacular beachhead that would stun the world.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success. "

Timing has a lot to do with getting bargains. I was at a few garage sales on Saturday and got to one later in the day where they told me they were cleaning up an old fellers place as he wasn't coming home again. It had been fairly well picked over but there were still some goodies. After talking for a spell I offered to take a pile of lumber, a pile of hand tools, all the part cans/jars of oil/whatever and about 20 old extension cords. They took the offer as they didn't want to move the stuff yet again. Called my boy to bring a truck and we loaded up a good whack of lumber that is all usable and we got 6 good hoes, 4 shovels, 5 rakes and enough handles to start a good bonfire, in the pile of extension cords were three good ones and a 24 foot set of great booster cables. I had to give them $5 for some wrench's that include 3 3/8inch ratchets that were weird as [L] and I sold 2 of them for $20 at a stop further on. Funny how they kept coming with stuff to throw on the load as we also got like 10 bird feeders and 4 water's for the chickens.

Total net profit (after Ebay/PP fees, shipping, materials costs)(as of October 31, 2018) = $4,240.91

Total number of oz's of silver sold (as of October 31, 2018) = 541 troy oz

My take: So far I feeling that I am doing very well with my ebay/online business. At the moment, I am concentrating on building up my reserve inventory (i.e. my "business stack").

Always looking and sometimes finding. Was -32F yesterday and I didn't feel like splitting firewood so I called a fellow up the wife gave me the phone number of. He had a 1995 F150 4x4 with 208,000km for sale for $2500 she saw on face----. Young fellow was at home so I got Donny and went for a short drive to look. He tells me that he has in the last year put $4,000 in parts in to the dang thing[I believe him now]. It has new leaf springs on the back, coils on the front. Pretty much all front end steering parts done, new brake booster, new distributor[and electronic for same], new radiator, new rear tires[with near new fronts] and new rear gas tank. I'm not impressed that it is an automatic and 5.8 but the wife could use it to pull her horsey to trail rides, cow chasing and such. Donny and the young fellow take off for a drive and come back 20 minutes later with Don smiling big. He took her over to the highway and then locked er in 4x4 to test her across a few miles of stubble fields. Said it works perfect and that the heater works in every position[my 95 don't]. I offers up $2000 and the guy grabs me hand[hate it when they do that]. Paper work done while he tells me more of what he has done to er and then I ask, "What is wrong with it now that it's mine"? He says nothing more than a crack in the windshield and the Ebrake. Donny jumps in to drive er home and the fellow comes yelling that there is four more tires and rims to go to. We get it home and park er, then today the temp has warmed up to -20F so the wife goes out to feed the horsey so I say to try starting the truck. 3rd crank and the worms turning. Feeds horsey and takes er for a drive, comes back smiling.

Fellows sometimes the deal is soooo good you gotta hate dickering but when it is so ingrained in your being that ya can't help it. I look at a lot of vehicles in a year and just can't figure out how anyone thinks a truck with 200,000 from say 2010 is worth anymore than one from 70 to 2009.

130,000 miles on a ford F-150, why that truck's just broke in!
Good score, pity.

Wife last night showed me how it's done. Old neighbor came over to pick up some milk replacer and medicine she had picked up in town, while having coffee and food she put some of her refrigerator pickles out. Old boy said, "I'd about kill to get a jar of them pickles". So after a bunch of back and forth they made a deal that nets the wife one 1500lb hay bale and the old boy got a quart of pickles last night and will receive a gallon of them when the cucumbers are in season. Now that folks is how it should work.
PS the old boy was in the yard with his big JD and a bale at 7:30 this am.

Went to a garage sale a couple weeks back and there was nothing for me, then I spotted along the back wall a couple guns. Guy wanted $100 for the SKS and $200 for the winchester 120 shotgun with a slug barrel also. Being my usual dinkish self I asked what he had to go with them if I bought them both. He said I could have the ammo, 1365 rds 7.62x39 and 3 boxs of 12 gauge, the two hard cases, three trigger locks and there is a shotgun cleaning kit. After that spiel even I couldn't try screwing him more. So I got them home for pics and flip for $900.

Gotta love people who are getting rid of their possessions to go live a nomadic life in an RV.

Well I'll be dambed if my plan didn't come together on the above deal. A fellow drove 2.5 hours down to pick up the sks and ammo yesterday for $450. Funny part was he came from a hundred yards away from where I picked it up LOL. Another guy wanted just the slug barrel so I soaked him $250 for it. One of my lads buddy's wanted the shotgun for $200 so he got it. I still have a hard case, three box's of 12 gauge ammo and 2 trigger locks.
