BEAR HUNTING 2016, THE PROGRESS SO FAR
Working Class Woodsman

Published on Sep 12, 2016
It's that time of year and time to get out the 30-06 and go bear hunting. There is a huge population of bear in our area and it is essential we manage the population. Bear is very good to eat if handled and prepared correctly

I was lucky enough to harvest a 3 year old male black bear this year. These animals are an incredible species and deserve a-lot of respect, however they do need to be managed by harvesting them. Black bear is very good to eat when processed and handled correctly.

NEW HAMPSHIRE BEAR SEASON 2017, SHOOT OR DONT SHOOT ??
Working Class Woodsman

Published on Sep 2, 2017
It's the second day of bear season here in New Hampshire and things are looking good as far as plenty of bear roaming around. We always look forward to the fall hunting seasons so we can fill our freezers with fresh wild meat. My wife and I especially like bear meat for all kinds of recipes.

I didn't look at the thread title closely enough. I though for sure this was gonna be about rare pilsners, stouts and ales.

2017 NEW HAMPSHIRE BEAR HUNTING SEASON, THE HARVEST !!
Working Class Woodsman

Well I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to harvest a nice male NH Black Bear. We were seeing some smaller ones and Jake got a nice one Friday night but this guy stumbled in and presented a good supply of bear meat for the freezer. I always feel a mix of emotions when I harvest any animal large or small. I have always felt the animals I hunt and consume have a far better life than anything grown commercially. We use every part of the game we take and that is a responsibility that we as hunter gatherers take very seriously. It doesn't make sense to everyone and I understand that. In any case have a safe hunting season.
