All that said, this whole argument boils down to discussing how to elect who will have the power to steal from everyone, which is itself total nonsense.

Thing is the democrats are drinking floride...ther liber-taininum….

edited to add: don't take that as an offence...
None taken.

Democrats support socialism, perhaps to a greater extent than Republicans, perhaps not. But one key part of how they've pulled the wool over so many people's eyes has been the distortion of the meaning of important words to suit their purposes.

They've successfully implemented the use of the word "capitalist" to describe systems that are overtly socialist or "crony-capitalist" systems. They've also gotten people who love liberty to denounce others as "liberal" when, in fact, they are socialists. So they've gotten liberty-lovers to denounce liberalism by redefining socialism as "liberal".

No wonder so many are hopelessly confused and don't even see the contradictions within their own sets of beliefs.

Oh well. The only thing I can do about it is refuse to participate in perpetuating these errors.
Therefore, I try to avoid calling theft "taxation", or socialists "liberals".

The electoral college was designed to emphasize and enact the concept that the federal government is a creation of the states, and that the states control the federal government. The states vote for president, not the people.
.
.
I know. The problem with that is that if you have 49 states with a population of 1 each and one state with a population of one million, 49 people can impose their will on a million. You end up diluting the value of individuals' vote in order to augment the value of jurisdictional entities. It is real people who are turned into slaves by the masters they are allowed to choose, not geographic areas.

calling theft "taxation",
now, now, now...I'm telling you that that fine/tax shit is still in Oregon law. When you have done nothing but try to live and get fined it is the same as living and getting taxed inside the bounds that is called Oregon. Well there is that and the fact that ther/the speaker of the house well her last name is kotex..at least I think that is how it is spelled....f'n tiny kotex…….awwahahhawwawwwwshit….!

What I did say is that the US is an oligarchy. If you read the definition of the word knowing who elects the President in the US, you'd realize it's true.
I know the definition "Oligarchy "- The masses ruled by the few.
So nations that allow the people to vote for their leadership AND the vote is TRUE is an oligarchy.
Otherwise they are Dictatorships of one kind or another including ROYALS.

That state with a population of one million should secede..

The design of the Constitution, the mechanics of the document, is for Washington to facilitate commerce between the states and for national defense if needed.

Everything outside of those functions are unconstitutional and illegal for anyone in federal government to perform.

Since then the nanny state communists have given us 995 cuts.

So, who do you guillotine first and where do you stop?

Repeal the 17th Amendment and let the Senate vote whether to eliminate the electoral college.

Here's a reminder of how we got here. We're putting these people in charge of EVERYTHING simply because of their religion and what's between their legs. Think about THAT for a minute!!!

Here's another little tidbit...
1546746841452.png

"The newly elected United States Congress chose to prioritize protection of this foreign nation — at the expense of the Constitutional rights of American citizens and over countless bills that would help Americans."

"Democratic and Republican senators have decided that one of their first orders of business next week should be to sneak through a bill that would weaken Americans’ First Amendment protections. The bill, Combatting BDS Act, encourages states to adopt the very same anti-boycott laws that two federal courts blocked on First Amendment grounds."

"The legislation, like the unconstitutional state anti-boycott laws it condones, sends a message to Americans that they will be penalized if they dare to disagree with their government."

Kill the Electoral College and provide term limits for our SCOTUS

Simple really, most sheep can't spell Electoral, nor College, and most can't recall ever receiving any formal training on it's inclusion into this countries founding, so, the purpose of the Electoral College in a Republic, is completely lost

Most Believe it's a Democracy

first step was off the cliff with that but, it's gotta be acknowledged

For too many American Sheeple, politics like like professional sports: Yankees vs. Red Sox. Lakers vs. Celtics, Cowboys vs. Redskins, whatever.

They blindly vote for their partisan "team," Donkeys vs. Elephants.

Libby you can't set up a problem with narrow parameters like you have there and prove anything. It is an unrealistic situation that does not model the existing situation. Therefore your conclusion is null. Don't go all solarian on me.

Well, that's just how the population is distributed, isn't it?

Direct elections mean one person, one vote. Every vote counts as much as every other.
The current system means that the vote of people who live in States with small populations weighs more than the vote of people who live in cities. So some people's votes are more equal than others.
Just imagine if Turmp had won the popular vote and lost the electoral vote. Would you still support it?
Yes I would still support it and let me tell you why.

The EC is all that stands between us and mob rule...because that is what democracy is....MOB RULE.

The EC ensures the rights of the minority are balanced against the powers of the majority.

BALANCED.

So yes - a rural state citizen's vote has more value than an urban vote. It was a brilliant and wise decision made at our founding to ensure the republic would endure.

Any urban dweller that decides that having a more powerful vote is all-important is free to move to a rural state. And once relocated - that former urban dweller will acquire a new appreciation for the wisdom of protecting minority rights - because they will quickly figure out that they are the minority in their new hometown...
