Vast cities are being built across China at a rate of ten a year, but they remain almost uninhabited ghost towns. It's estimated there are 64 million empty apartments.

We have ghost towns in North America also, but, they became ghost towns after a period of booming economy changed.

Quite apart from the asininity of investing in unlivable quarters in ghost cities without industries or residents...think of the degradation to the environment, that all this pointless, useless, Ponzi-scheme construction represents.

As shown there, the base material for these structures is Chinacrete. We saw the narrator fingering the breaking stone in cast walkways and decorative ends. There were snippets of ghost buildings where isolated areas had roofs or balconies fall off.

This will all have to be pulled down. This land could have been left alone, or put to agricultural use...and instead was used to build sandcastle cities, useless and worthless, which will only need to be cleaned out. And that, of course, will never happen.

i watched a show a few days ago, it said the 'ghost cities' were incomplete because if they were completed to the new owners specifications, the 'next owner' would have to gut it completely and re-set it all to suit their needs...fung shuey or something like that...so, the apartments are intended to be for investment purposes so, the new original owner would be upset if the apartment were to be sold to them as a 'completed unit', type of a sale, because their intent is to sell it and never have lived in it...and they will 'save money' by buying the apartment incomplete from the git-go

it was malarky, most likely generated by the CCP to be included in that particular video, idk, but i've watched enough videos to understand, the CCP is behind about 40% or more of them...never painting themselves as being complicite with anything wrong with that horrible country (horrible because of the politics)
