Chris Hedges calls them "sacrifice zones," huge pockets of impoverished America on the verge of cementing a permanent underclass. The Pulitzer Prize winning journalist has teamed up with cartoonist Joe Sacco in his latest project "Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt" to shed some light on this issue. He joins Piya Chattopadhyay for more on his warning.

Of course not. So many have made a career of walking over those kind of people. Especially during those years when Clinton and Bush took away their jobs.

Now all these super wealthy politicians, they're laughing all the way to the bank.

"Jobs" = servitude. To enrich oneself requires a huge dose of self education, a lot of thinking, and old fashioned hard work. Anyone can be rich in America. 80% of millionaires are first generation rich. Few will get there because most people are paralyzed by fear or too lazy to try.

Chris Hedges preying upon the poor, while complaining about others who he claims are vultures.

The whole country is potentially a wasteland, that's the business model.
