A 73-year-old Ontario senior citizen was shot and killed outside his home yesterday by police following an incident at a local market. We will provide more details as they become available.
What we know so far is that Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after officers fatally shot a 73-year-old man outside his home in Haliburton County on Wednesday morning. The man had refused to wear a mask and allegedly assaulted a grocery store employee before driving away, Ontario Provincial Police say.
Police were called to a Valu-Mart in Minden, Ont., just after 8 a.m., OPP Sgt. Jason Folz said. Officers tried to stop the suspect’s car, but they refrained “in the interest of public safety” before doing a follow-up investigation, Folz said.
The man is alleged to have tried to run down a store employee, and crashed into the side of the store before getting onto the highway.
Folz confirmed to the National Post on Thursday that the man had indeed attempted to swerve into an employee, but they did not see any damage to the store.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said the man drove away, and an officer saw the car and started following it for a short while. Based on the license plate, officers made their way to a home on Indian Point Road. Outside the home there was an “interaction,” and two police officers fired their guns.
Folz said that after shots were fired, “additional resources” were brought to the area near Eagle Lake, about 215 kilometres northeast of Toronto. The man was shot and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:47 a.m.
Folz said the victim was from the Eagle Lake area.
In a news release issued Thursday morning, the SIU said investigators had recovered a pistol and a semi-automatic rifle from outside the victim’s home. The firearms of two police officers were also taken into evidence, the agency said.
Investigators are continuing to search the area surrounding the deceased’s home Thursday and are also making attempts to locate the man’s next of kin.
A post-mortem examination is set to be conducted Friday morning. Four OPP officers have been designated witnesses to the shooting, and arrangements for interviews are underway, the SIU said.
(WWJ) A confrontation over a mask has led to a stabbing and a deadly shooting southwest of Lansing.
According to Michigan State Police, the suspect walked in a Quality Dairy convenience store in Windsor Twp. Tuesday morning without a mask, and was told that he had to wear one.
An argument broke out between the man and other customers in the store, police said, and the maskless man — identified as 43-year-old Sean Ernest Ruis — was refused service by store employees.
The dispute escalated, and it's alleged that Ruis pulled out a knife and stabbed a 77-year-old Lansing man.
Ruis, a Grand Ledge resident, then got into his car and fled.
He drove to Delta Township where he was pulled over by an Eaton County Sheriff's deputy on Jerryson Drive.
"She approached the car and he approached her with a knife, and she shot and killed him," WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reported.
Ruis was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
The stabbing victim is being treated for his wounds at a hospital, MSP said. The deputy, a 22 1/2 year veteran with Eaton County Sheriff’s Department, was not injured.
Ruis was a longtime state employee. A spokesperson for the Michigan Department of Transportation told the Associated Press that Ruis was a transportation technician who had worked at MDOT since 2008.
Investigations by the sheriff's office and State Police into both the stabbing and the shooting are ongoing.
This comes one day after stricter mask rules went into effect in Michigan. Under an executive order by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, businesses are now required to refuse entry or service to people who are not wearing a face covering, with few exceptions.

Chinese Virologist Reveals WHO Colluded With the CCP in COVID-19 Cover-Up
Chinese virologist Yan Limeng, who secretly fled to the United States from Hong Kong in April, revealed that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) worked together to conceal evidence of the potential spread of the novel coronavirus among humans when the outbreak first emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in late 2019.
Yan was a researcher in virology and immunology at the University of Hong Kong’s school of public health. Fearing that her life may be in danger, Yan fled to the United States on April 28.
These immoral degenerates use numbers as weapons............ does this make anyone else wonder if we really have any debt or it it just a mind fuck to keep people paying and paying and paying and paying.....
IMF Made Loans to Belarus Conditional on a Lockdown. Lukashenko Turned Them Down
"We will not dance to anyone's tune" was the precise response
Additional conditions which do nto apply to the financial part are unacceptable for Belarus, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said when speaking about external lending during a meeting to discuss support measures for the real economic sector on the part of the banking system, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the participants of the meeting how things were with the provision of foreign credit assistance to Belarus. “What are our partners’ requirements? It was announced that they can provide Belarus with $940 million in so-called rapid financing. How are things here?” the head of state inquired.
At the same time, he stressed that additional conditions which do not apply to the financial part are unacceptable for the country. “We hear the demands, for example, to model our coronavirus response on that of Italy. I do not want to see the Italian situation to repeat in Belarus. We have our own country and our own situation,” the president said.
According to the president, the World Bank has showed interest in Belarus’ coronavirus response practices. “It is ready to fund us ten times more than it offered initially as a token of commendation for our efficient fight against this virus. The World Bank has even asked the Healthcare Ministry to share the experience. Meanwhile, the IMF continues to demand from us quarantine measures, isolation, a curfew. This is nonsense. We will not dance to anyone’s tune,” said the president.
UK Government Panicking As Fraudulent COVID Death Count is Revealed
Today the public have been told via the mainstream press that UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock is now ‘looking into’ how data regarding coronavirus fatalities is being recorded. This, despite months of reporting by dissenting journalists who have been challenging the official government line raising this issue.
Dying *of* coronavirus? Or dying *with* coronavirus. The distinction is crucial, in medicine and statistics. So what do the official figures actually mean? PLEASE read https://t.co/tDMjmWlIBv

Downplaying a ‘Strange Anomaly’
We’re told all this comes after Public Health England (PHE) confirmed that people who are dying of natural causes are also being counted as ‘COVID deaths’ by virtue of the fact that they had previously tested positive for the virus.
Officials are calling this “a strange anomaly,” but it’s much more than that.
Quite clearly, Hancock and the Tory government are implementing damage control here, as this scandal is rapidly being disseminated across the public discourse, and for fear that the wider scale of the statistical fraud might be revealed.
By calling for a “urgent review,” the Johnson government hopes to avoid a likely backlash from what can only be described as a historic fiasco for Public Health England and Westminster.
All of the governments seemingly half-baked policies – from Lockdown, to shutting down normal NHS services (making it a de facto ‘COVID only’ health service), to nonsensical ad hoc ‘social distancing’ regulations, mass testing, contact tracing, to mandatory masks, to school closures, travel bans and quarantines, to its rush to push-out an experimental coronavirus vaccine – are all predicated on what seems very likely to be false perception that COVID-19 is an unprecedented ‘pandemic’ and therefore requires unprecedented mitigation measures.
It seems that government can no longer hide that it has been counting scores of people who’ve died from natural causes as ‘COVID deaths’. One can only guess just how many deaths have been wrongly recorded in this way.
A source says that, “We noticed that hospital deaths were falling but community deaths were up and wondered why …. It turns out you could have been tested positive in February, recovered, then hit by a bus in July and you’d be recorded as a covid death.”
Essentially, PHE is counting people if they die of any cause at any time after previously testing positive for COVID. So by this government measure, one can never ‘recover’ from the virus. They simply keep the ‘death meter’ running forever, which is effectively padding their statistics and thus justifying any policy which is being drifted out each day.
This can only be described as fraudulent data gathering and recording by health officials, which has unfortunately been swallowed, unquestioningly, by politicians and the mainstream media for the last 4 and half months.
What’s more, these figures are concealing an even bigger scandal – more likely these numbers are driving excess mortality. In other words, the inconvenient truth that most of these are in fact Lockdown deaths, and not COVID deaths.
Florida Labs Acknowledge “Major Errors” After Reporting Positivity Rates Of 100%
There’s a reason for this, you know? It’s because the alleged virus and COVID-19 were never actually separated out and determined to be any sort of new disease. Dr. Andrew Kaufman pointed this out as he sifted through the scientific papers that were written regarding what the American people are being told and for which they submitted to tyranny in a blink of an eye. Still, we continue to get bad information from scientists, doctors and politicians who apparently don’t know a thing about viruses or how they actually work because they have been too indoctrinated via the Rockefeller takeover of medicine. The latest is that Florida labs are acknowledging that there are major errors after reporting 100% positivity rates. See? It’s the biggest hoax in history, people!

Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge has the story:
Florida health officials left COVID-19 trackers slackjawed on Sunday when it reported more than 15k new infections in just 24 hours on Sunday (the data were gleaned from the prior day). But as hospitalizations surge, questions have grown about whether the state is still trying to ‘juke’ its data, something that a now infamous whistleblower alleged before she was fired (she has since started her own COVID-19 data portal relying on public info).
Journalists scouring the reams of daily data for discrepancies have apparently happened upon bombshell they had been hoping for: Orlando Health has just confirmed that some of the data it shared over the weekend were wrong, after journalists reported more than 50 labs showing 100% positivity rate, or roughly around there. One local Fox affiliate looked into the numbers and contacted a few of the labs to confirm that their internal data matched the public data released by the state.
So, there you have it. You can’t trust any of these people when it comes to the so-called “virus.”
While the people of the western world occupy themselves wearing masks, pointing fingers and using so much hand sanitizer it literally kills them, the big world of Geo-Politics still ticks along, following the same tired old patterns with only slight variations in method. A modern twist, if you will.
Here’s a little summary of Burundi’s recent history:
The president of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, dismissed covid19 as nonsense.
The president of Burundi was vilified in the Western press.
President Pierre Nukurunziza’s reluctance to impose policies aimed at stopping the virus from spreading is converging with his enthusiasm for democratic authoritarianism, putting not only Burundi, but Burundi’s neighbors at risk.
Burundi’s trajectory has been apparent for some time. But the pandemic now raises the stakes for neighboring states whose attempts to control the virus are threatened by Burundi’s insistence on moving ahead with electoral theater regardless of the public health risks involved.
Just as the EAC’s attempts to advance dialogue in Burundi did nothing to stave off the closing of political space, today the organization seems helpless at best as Burundi and neighboring Tanzania refuse to take COVID-19 seriously.

Reuters reports that Burundi’s government expels the WHO:
Burundi is expelling the national head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and three members of his team as it prepares for a presidential election that is being held next week despite concern about health risks during the coronavirus pandemic.
The government confirmed on Thursday that a May 12 letter from the foreign ministry was sent to WHO country head Walter Kazadi Mulombo and three others of the U.N. body’s health experts, ordering them out by Friday. Bernard Ntahiraja, the foreign affairs assistant minister, said the officials had been declared “persona non grata” but did not give reasons.
Burundi has so far reported relatively few cases of the COVID-19 disease: 27 infections and one death. But testing remains very low: the nation of 11 million people has carried out only 527 tests, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Large crowds have been gathering during the election campaign in Burundi, which has no lockdown measures in place at all, unlike many other African nations.
Some Burundians say privately they believe COVID-19 infections are higher than officially stated but they say they fear to say so publicly because they could be targeted and punished. Léonce Ngendakumana, a presidential candidate for the opposition FRODEBU party, called the expulsion regrettable. “The country alone won’t be able to contain the pandemic,” he told Reuters.

The Guardian reports the death of Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza of “suspected Covid19” [our emphasis]:
The outgoing president of Burundi has died of a sudden illness, suspected by many to be Covid-19.
The cause of Pierre Nkurunziza’s death was described as a heart attack in a government statement. The 55-year-old was due to stand down in August following elections last month.
It was unclear exactly when he died. A government statement said the president, a keen sports enthusiast, had attended a game of volleyball on Saturday but fell ill that night and was taken to hospital.
The former footballer’s health improved on Sunday but “surprisingly, on morning of Monday June 8, 2020, his health suddenly deteriorated and he had a heart attack”. The statement described Nkurunziza’s death as “unexpected” and asked people to remain calm.

The Financial Times runs an article titled “Coronavirus stalks Burundi’s political elite after president’s death”. It’s behind a paywall, but here’s a screenshot:
Burundi’s new President Evariste Ndayishimiye has declared the coronavirus the country’s “biggest enemy”, in a major about-turn for a nation which has largely ignored the dangers of the virus.
Former president Pierre Nkurunziza, who died suddenly last month, and even Ndayishimiye himself, had until now downplayed the gravity of the pandemic, saying God had spared Burundi from its ravages. Burundi held a full-blown campaign ahead of a May election, and unlike its neighbours which have imposed lockdowns and curfews, has taken few measures to combat the spread of the virus.
Officially the country has reported only 170 cases and one death in two months. Ndayishimiye was speaking late Tuesday after the swearing in of his new government in parliament. “From tomorrow (Wednesday), I declare the COVID-19 pandemic the biggest enemy of Burundians, because it is clear it is becoming their biggest concern,” he said. “We firmly commit ourselves to fight this pandemic.” He called for “the strict respect for preventative measures which the health ministry will from now on display across the country”.
He reminded citizens that coronavirus tests were free, as was treatment, warning those who did not get tested when they had symptoms.
“If in future someone does not go and get tested in such a case, it means he wants to contaminate others voluntarily… and he will be considered a sorcerer and treated as severely as one would be,” he said.

As of today, Worldometers.info lists 1 single death & 269 “Total Cases” of Covid19 for Burundi:
It seems Covid19 is a disease of rare complexity. Not only is it able to understand the importance of some social protests and avoid them entirely, it’s also able to sense when the world leader is inconvenient and take him out.

he majority of political contributions made by employees of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 2015 have gone to Democratic candidates or causes, federal election records show.
Donors who list the CDC as their employer have made more than 8,000 contributions totaling over $285,000 to various political campaigns or organizations. An analysis by the Daily Caller News Foundation found only five contributions were sent to a Republican political action committee or candidate, totaling just over $1,000. Only three people donated to President Trump's 2016 campaign.
Since the coronavirus pandemic began, Trump has been sharply critical of the CDC, casting doubt on the data the agency keeps about the outbreak and publicly breaking with guidelines it set forth for reopening schools in the fall.
"I disagree with @CDCgov on their very tough & expensive guidelines for opening schools. While they want them open, they are asking schools to do very impractical things," Trump tweeted on July 8. "I will be meeting with them!!!"
"In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS," Trump also said. "The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families. May cut off funding if not open!"
Advocates for reopening schools fully for in-person learning five days a week have cited a recent study from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which lists a number of risks related to keeping students home instead.
"The importance of in-person learning is well-documented, and there is already evidence of the negative impacts on children because of school closures in the spring of 2020," the organization said in recent guidance it issued late last month. "Lengthy time away from school and associated interruption of supportive services often results in social isolation, making it difficult for schools to identify and address important learning deficits as well as child and adolescent physical or sexual abuse, substance use, depression, and suicidal ideation."
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease doctor, said local governments should adhere to public health guidelines as they prepare to reopen.
"The basic fundamental goal would be as you possibly can to get the children back to school and use the public health efforts as a tool to help the children get back to school," Fauci said during a hearing before Congress on June 30.
After Trump criticized the CDC guidelines for reopening schools, Dr. Robert Redfield said last week he has no plans to change them.
“Our guidelines are our guidelines," he said. "It’s really important. It’s not a revision of the guidelines. It’s just to provide additional information to help schools be able to use the guidance that we put forward.”
Rep. Bobby Scott, the chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, said the White House is blocking all CDC officials, including Redfield, from testifying before his panel.
Ignored by Liberal Media Democrat Politicians: CDC Confirms 12th Straight Week of Declining Coronavirus Deaths
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed this week that coronavirus deaths declined again for the 12th straight week.
Via the CDC:
>Based on death certificate data, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased from 8.1% during week 27 to 6.4% during week 28, representing the twelfth week of a declining percentage of deaths due to PIC. The percentage is currently above the epidemic threshold and will likely change as more death certificates are processed, particularly for recent weeks.

KY. COUPLE ON HOUSE ARREST AFTER NOT SIGNING POSITIVE COVID-19 SELF-ISOLATION ORDER
HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE) - A Hardin County couple is now on house arrest after one of them tested positive for COVID-19 and decided not to sign documents agreeing to self-quarantine.
Last week, Elizabeth Linscott got tested for the COVID-19 because she was planning to visit her parents in Michigan.
“My grandparents wanted to see me, too,” Linscott said. “So just to make sure if they tested negative, that they would be OK, everything would be fine.”
After testing positive but without showing any symptoms, Linscott said the health department contacted her and requested she sign documents that will limit her traveling anywhere unless she calls the health department first. She said she chose to not sign the documents.
“My part was if I have to go to the ER, if I have to go to the hospital, I’m not going to wait to get the approval to go,” she said.
But Linscott said she would take necessary precautions if she needed to go to the hospital, like letting workers know she has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
A couple of days after she denied signing the Self-isolation and Controlled Movement Agreed Order, Linscott said the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department arrived at her home without warning. Her husband, Isaiah, was home.
”I open up the door and there’s like eight different people,” he said. “Five different cars and I’m like what the heck’s going on? This guy’s in a suit with a mask, it’s the health department guy and he has three different papers for us. For me, her and my daughter."
The couple was ordered to wear ankle monitors. If they travel more than 200 feet, law enforcement will be notified.
“We didn’t rob a store, we didn’t steal something, we didn’t hit and run, we didn’t do anything wrong,” Elizabeth Linscott said.
The couple said they never denied self-quarantining, they just didn’t agree with the wording of the documents..
”That’s exactly what the Director of the Public Health Department told the judge, that I was refusing to self-quarantine because of this and that was not the case at all,” Linscott said. “I never said that.”
The Linscotts said they plan to get an attorney.
WAVE 3 News reached out to the Hardin County Health Department but has not heard back.
At this site, I’ve never shied away from unpopular truths—in fact, I think that shining light upon them is vital to logical thought and solid investment returns. With that out of the way, I’m going to dive into the klusterfukety global government response to COVID-19. Oddly, despite science being fact-based, each country charted its own path—showing that the pandemic itself is a political adventure and science comes secondarily—if at all.
Let me start with a few disclaimers; I’m not a biologist, I am not a virologist and I don’t intend to dwell on the existing data, as most of what’s out there is buggy at best and often doctored for political reasons. Besides, I don’t think hard-data is important to the rest of this post. You see, I am a common-sense guy. In a world where governments have lost their collective minds, I feel I have something of an edge here.
If you read nothing else, read the following; had they stopped this thing in Wuhan, we would be right to use a containment approach to COVID-19. Instead, it’s everywhere and despite your personal opinions on the issue, it isn’t going away until most of us get it. There, I said it; you can hide in your basement, but you’re still probably going to get COVID-19. You can quarantine a whole nation; they’ll just get it next year. We are a global economy and this is now a global disease.
Whether you like it or not, the world is going for “herd immunity.” Unfortunately, there is no other viable option; there will be no vaccine, there will be no miracle cure and besides, the virus isn’t even all that dangerous if you are young and healthy. Simply put, COVID-19 won’t flame out until 50 to 80 percent of us get it (the precise number is open to debate).
For the past century, most people have accepted that from time to time they’ll get a cold or flu. It was considered a fact of life and an inconvenience. Somehow, in this age of fake news and social media, a disease that’s a bit worse than the annual flu, has taken on a persona that’s terrifying. I understand why that’s happened; the media and various “influencers” sell fear and astute politicians harness this fear for votes. Meanwhile, anyone with a dissenting voice is marginalized. Along the way, data has been tampered with and facts have become bastardized. Is anyone else disturbed that the Democrats and Republicans each support different miracle cures? Basic science hasn’t been this politicized since Galileo opined about celestial bodies.
Now, I don’t intend this post to be political; you can twist most data to prove almost any spectrum of facts. Rather, let me throw out a strawman; let’s assume COVID-19 led to almost certain death, do we have the ability to stop it? We could quarantine all of humanity for years, but COVID-19 would still be out there; it wouldn’t die out—there would always be new flare-ups as people got sloppy or ignored the rules. We tried an aggressive quarantine in America and did little more than “flatten the curve.” Unlike smallpox or polio, there will never be a vaccine (there has never been a COVID vaccine for a variety of reasons)—therefore, as soon as quarantine ends, we’d all begin to spread it again, as there will always be infected humans. Countries that hermetically sealed their borders would not be immune either—they’ve simply deferred infection. Eventually, there would be an accident—one single pathogen would undo years of work. You can quarantine a village in Africa and stop a disease like Ebola that strikes fast and often kills the host. You cannot stop the spread of something that tens of millions of global citizens unknowingly have, while lying dormant for up to three weeks.
I think it should be obvious that you cannot stop COVID from spreading, at best, you can slow it down so that hospitals do not become overwhelmed. Instead, governments are passing draconian and arbitrary laws that do little to slow the spread, yet destroy businesses and communities. If anything, this takes a biological crisis and turns it into an economic one.
I don’t have the answers here, I don’t have solutions, but I know one thing; putting your head in the sand and hoping COVID-19 goes away is foolish. It is time for everyone to accept the inevitable and figure out what that means for themselves and their countries. The current checker-board approach in the US where each state and even each county takes a different approach—is simply making a mess of things.
Here in Miami Beach; we have a 10pm curfew, we have fines and jail time for not wearing masks in public, bars are closed, restaurants can only have outdoor seating and the beach was closed last weekend. It is not clear what any of these measures actually accomplish if tens of thousands are marching around in protests without masks. Meanwhile, code compliance is sporadically and arbitrarily enforcing the curfew at various restaurants—giving rule-breakers a clear advantage. As I made my rounds at some of my favorite restaurants this week, owners finally broke down the brave façade; they confessed that they’re financially bleeding to death. Dozens of prominent restaurants have already shut their doors for good—some of these restaurants have been around for decades and survived multiple economic cycles. If the laws are consistent, you can manage your business—if the government changes the rules every few days to combat a bad cold, what are you supposed to do? We’ve opened, closed and changed the rules almost every week here. There is no clear goal, no clear agenda and no real purpose to these regulations; except to make it appear that the government is doing something—meanwhile, most residents in South Beach are defiantly not wearing masks; finding the whole process to be a ridiculous nuisance.
I think it is time for everyone globally to finally admit that COVID-19 is here, that we are powerless to stop its spread and that most of us are going to get it. The focus should be on protecting those who are elderly or compromised from a health standpoint. When you start from that framework, you can then think through the consequences and adapt policy appropriately. If you hope you can protect everyone from it, you’re going to postpone the inevitable, while destroying the economy. Once again, I don’t know what the right approach is, but I know that what’s being done today is asinine. It’s time for global leaders to wake up.
This is insane with no logical reason behind it. Time to dig out the torches and pitchforks!!! If this was my town I'd be there right on his doorstep and so would most of my neighbors. These Floridians are fucking pussies
With the novel Coronavirus continuing to spread, one of the last places open to American travelers has closed borders to prevent further damage from COVID-19. The Bahamas will not allow U.S. travelers to enter the island nation starting Wednesday, July 22, 2020
One of the final places open American international travelers will close their borders on Wednesday, July 23, 2020. The Miami Herald reports the Bahamas will no longer allow American visitors into the nation through airports or seaports, while visitors from other nations will still be welcome.
BORDERS CLOSED TO U.S. TRAVELERS, PRIVATE FLIGHTS AND CHARTERS
Under the new rules, all tourists from the United States will not be allowed to enter the islands. The Bahamas flag carrier, Bahamasair, will end flights from the nation to the U.S. effective immediately. Additionally, private flights, charter ships and arrival through pleasure vessels from America will be denied entry.
However, visitors from other nations will still be allowed to enter the Bahamas, on the condition they present a negative COVID-19 RT PCR test, completed by an accredited laboratory, dated within 10 days of their arrival. Nations still open to the Bahamas include Canada, the United Kingdom, and member states of the European Union.
According to the Bahama’s health leaders, 49 of the nation’s 153 confirmed cases of COVID-19 came since the island nation re-opened their borders on July 1, 2020. With the increasing amount of cases in Florida and the rest of the United States, authorities of the northern Caribbean nation say they do not want to expose their people to unnecessary risk.
“Our current situation demands decisive action, if we are to avoid being overrun and defeated by this virus,” Hubert Minnis, prime minister of the Bahamas, said in a statement as quoted by the Miami Herald. “We cannot allow our hospitals to be overrun. Many priorities must be balanced, be they health, social and economic.”
MORE NATIONS CLOSE BORDERS TO U.S. TRAVELERS AS COVID-19 CASES INCREASE
The move from the Bahamas is the latest blow to the U.S. tourism industry, after the European Council recommended barring American travelers for the foreseeable future. Under the first revision of the ban list, the United States remained in “do not admit” status, along with Brazil and Russia.
According to the most recent report from the Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, the United States has the most confirmed COVID-19 cases in the world, with 3.77 million. The U.S. also has the most deaths, accounting for over one-sixth of total global deaths. Feature photo courtesy: BriYYZ/Flickr (CC BY-SA 2.0)
