Not sure that check is going to be in the mail after all.. Having a hard time in the Senate from what I have read.

My guess is after all this money is released that all of a sudden this crisis will subside really quickly cuz we are Americans and we beat this thing. I still think this whole excursive was to release the money without any backlash from the public.

The White House aims to deploy at least $800 billion in aid in the coming weeks to prop up the U.S. economy, as retailers, restaurants, sporting events and other businesses shut down and Americans slow their spending while staying home to guard against the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the administration’s targets this week: providing relief in the form of tax deferments, loans or even direct payments to airlines, the hospitality industry and small-to-medium businesses crippled by plunging demand. Officials know they need to release the contours of their plan quickly — potentially as soon as Tuesday — as turmoil accelerates in financial markets, said a person familiar with the White House’s plans.

I’m starting to see a pattern.
Trump wouldn't happen to have any investments in the hospitality industry, would he?

Suddenly we are looking at a $2T deficit.

Two trillion deficit... there is more than a passing chance the US national debt will hit $30 trillion by July.
As i speculated in another post. Every President for the last 20 years or more has had to double the debt during their term to keep the status Quo. Trump was way behind only adding 3 trillion over the last 3 years.. When he took over we were at 20 trillion so he needs to ramp up the spending to twice the levels of Obama.

Think of the debt as blowing up a balloon.. The interest on the debt is is a slow leak in the balloon so the balloon must constantly have more air. The bigger you blow the balloon up the larger that slow leak hole gets and the more air you must pump in to keep it just at the same fill level as before.

So trumps added 3 trillion or so. The fed has been pumping in 100's of billions per month or week or whatever it is. I don't know the exact numbers. Now we have a 1.5 trillion inject by them and another 800 billion package and now a proposed 800 billion plus package roaming through congress. Depending on what the fed has pumped in we are going to be around 6.5-7 trillion very soon.
So what appears to be happening is the fed is using it's balance sheet to increase the money supply instead of the fed gov using it's debt limit. The end result is the same with around 7 trillion getting added to the economy though.

I'll admit I don't understand the inner workings of it all but the big picture seems about right..

Starting to sound like hypertiger with my ramblings.

Who is Hypertiger?
Just some crazy mofo that used to been GIM1. Long ramblings you could barely get through and if you did hard to understand at first, but, he knew how this debt game worked. Every year you need more and more just to stay afloat and keep the last round of debt solvent.

Isn't it common knowledge around these parts that old debt is settled with new debt when no sound money exists?

Who is Hypertiger?
Dunno if he still shows up on Google.
Used to be some good ranting that would show up there on a search.
And I do mean good as in good and ranting as in ranting.
No negative connotations about that.
" It was all over for you the moment you were born "
Kind of stuff.

I find it quite amusing That Trump and the GOP hypocrites that despise Socialism are now using and praying for immense Socialism to save themselves!!

What happened to there theme phrase "This country will never be Socialist"

He needs a new red hat and this time with the truth wrote on it "Serial Socialist"

Remember when Shrub laid out this good one:

"I had to abandon free market principles in order to save the free market"
I imagine the "I hate the free be crowd, red hatters" will have to refuse their free trump checks, cause if they don't they'll have to admit that they too are socialist.

Obama's lowest years were in his second term - he was under $500 billion for a year or two. 2020 looks like it will be 4x that.
The big damage Obama did was in 2009, 2010, 2011.

Orange Man bad. Hate Orange Man
In general, I have disdain for politicians who support rampant socialist policies. Orangeman is trying to outdo the Bush43 bailout.

Do you have a chart for the debt for the same years?

Money is not green, FRNs are green and black. Money is silver and gold
Money is a medium of exchange. Sound money is silver and gold.

Why do you cheerlead any politician (Trump) that support mortgaging our children’s futures for the sake of supporting cronies?

I'm not cheer leading him. I'm just not criticizing him and tearing him down like some are doing here. I'm not privy to what's happening in the background and not nearly smart enough to fill the role he has. I'm allowing things to play out for a few more weeks since we're in such a fluid situation. If I'm wrong I'll know it by then

You seem to criticize people who point out socialism because Trump is for it and you’re a trump cheerleader.

Never thought I’d see the day on GIM where socialism was supported because they liked the President.

I've posted here in a few places that free money is a bad idea and I'm not in favor of it. I've never supported helicopter money. I would much rather see payroll tax relief instead.

I'll give you that, your the only one I've read denouncing free money...I'm not for payroll tax relief...SS needs to remain as strong as possible...you should feel the same, aren't you close to filing or have recently...after all it is your money, not entitlement!!!

We don't have a bill thats passed yet.. Lets wait and see what it looks like. Maxine waters shit that I posted last night is the nightmare scenario. Free money for the irresponsible (Is that a word)

The only thing that should be floated IMO is more money for unemployment and if needed in the future extending the benefits.

Latest rumor is down to 1000 per person and 500 per kid. Doing it twice. Once in April again in May. They should have this sorted out in the next few days.
