http://www.fox4news.com/news/business-owners-have-mixed-reactions-to-dallas-county-das-new-policies

Dallas County's new district attorney announced his office will no longer prosecute "theft of necessary items" up to $750

Cody Ellison and his business partner own three shops in the Bishop Arts District. The DA's letter to the people of Dallas County does not sit well with him.
“To have the thought of someone being able to come in and steal $750 from us and there be no consequence is unfathomable to me,” Ellison said.

The DA’s letter says: "Criminalizing poverty is counter-productive for our community’s health and safety. For that reason, this office will not prosecute theft of personal items less than $750 unless the evidence shows that the alleged theft was for economic gain."

I'd contend that all stealing is for economic gain.
...and yea that's f'ed up, but Dallas has a long history of doing f'ed up stuff.

This might be unofficial-de facto unwritten policy in many cities.
And, the police may be instructed to not initiate action at the most basic level.--even if not officially announced as a police.
I am surprised that this was released.

Is Dallas a red or blue city?

Not that it matters, was just curious.

While the state of Texas is Republican, Dallas city and Dallas county are left leaning.
Look for the little blue island in north central TX

Everyone should get together down there, go out to a nice steak house and everyone walk out after dinner. Head on over to the store and grab dessert and maybe a bottle of wine. Bottled water is free for everyone now. Why bother paying.
Maybe it's just backdoor reparations.

OK, so what this thread is trying to say is that nearly every large city in america is a shithole and that's because they fall for the left side of the left vs right debate and / or on the black side of the black vs white debate.

I think I got it now.

So we are no longer supposed to fear homeless druggies in Seattle, instead we must fear the corrupt DA's office in Dallas county.

OK, so I think I remember this movie, The Constitution by Jim Beam" or something like that. This judge in Texas, yep, this has got to be the crime of the century. That guy was also worth fearing. I think he was from Texas. Texans shouldn't behave that way at all. Was the DA originally a Texan?

$750 bucks is a pretty big gov't theft there, I'm going to call my accountant and see if it can be deducted on next year's taxes somehow.

Is it 750 per day in free stuff or was that a monthly allowance?

Dallas might be on the list, but it's still not as big of a s-hole as Seattle of San Fran. Not even close.

# 14 on the list - but sure, already got it, every large city in the US, or well most of them, or well at least the ones that fall for the left side of the right vs left debate, or some other racial attribute are s-holes. Got it, sure thing.

During a recent Monday Night Politics (MNP) forum, hosted by the Dallas Examiner at Fair Park, Creuzot went as far as to say that some cases could be averted by merely not filing them. Questioned as to whether such discretion is feasible or fair, he quickly defended the option.

“Yes, it is within the discretion of the District Attorney to not file cases or, working in collaboration with other departments or social service agencies, to provide treatment and other related services to reduce the likelihood of repeated behaviors that violate our laws,” Creuzot said. “By exercising prosecutorial discretion of cases to lessen the burden of a criminal record to a person does not create legalization of the offense.

“In DIVERT Court, we reduced rearrests by 68 percent ....

“After completion of the program requirements, the cases were dismissed and expunged.

Ending mass incarceration requires an acknowledgment of racial and socioeconomic disparities.....

Why punish honest business folks. Just go and steal your 750 from the D.A. If a hundred people a day came and stole that from the D.A. and his office, that would be a nice start.

Those douchebags happen to get paid to assure justice for the people. They not only ignore their duties, they also betray the trust the people instilled on them when they were appointed/elected. They should be physically removed from power, tried and hanged!

cops know this will spiral into third world hell

https://www.policeone.com/community...o-give-petty-criminals-a-pass-could-backfire/

Police say Dallas DA's plan to give petty criminals a pass could backfire

Officers say the reforms won't change how they approach their jobs and could have disastrous side effects

But Mata and Sheldon Smith, his counterpart with the National Black Police Association, also voiced disappointment that Creuzot had not sought input from local police chiefs and other "stakeholders," like small businesses, before rolling out his plan.

Creuzot, however, said he had met with local police and city officials, and he had yet to hear a viable solution.

"I've met with the police chiefs," the district attorney said, "and I've met with the City of Dallas and I've asked them to come up with a solution. Today, I've got no response. So we're going to act."

Mata and Smith said they expected multiple problems to arise from the changes, but nothing concerned them more than the decriminalization of theft of necessities worth up to $750.

"This will run people out of business," Mata said. "Hundreds of dollars [in stolen goods] is not low-level theft."

Smith said small businesses won't be able to survive in South Dallas and Oak Cliff if they must absorb the losses from theft.

"We know Walmart is leaving South Dallas," Smith said. "If Walmart is leaving, how much theft do you think is happening? The little store has absolutely no chance of staying in business."

The price of a candy bar just went to $751. Steal from my store I will open fire. The regulars have a $751 credit on purchases.
Agree, As some of my ex-military friends would say coming back from "Nam "Execute With Extreme Prejudice".
Business Owners in shithole Dallas should - Prosecute with Extreme Prejudice.
After a few DRTs in the business districts I bet the DA will re-think that position.
All criminals should be taken to jail, locked up, and any children turned over to Child Protective Services where the will be clothed and fed until family with verifiable income can be approved to keep them.

How much do you want to bet this imbecile DA will gladly expend vast sums of resources without batting an eyelash to prosecute a shop owner who had to resort to deadly force during and encounter with a violent shoplifter?

Hi OGD, It could be he's looking for more overtime pay for him and the staff. IDK, just a guess, but I didn't get any answer regarding my questions either...

I'm agreeing with the thread contents, I don't think the forum has taken notice of what this means though - I'm claiming this is more evidence that it's much safer here in Seattle than in Texas.

I mean, who would you rather face, a homeless druggy asking for a quarter or a DA from Texas telling you to fork over $750 in merch , every day, or every week, or every month (still waiting on word about the frequency details)

They do the same thing in Seattle. Watch the vids about it. They say that the cops don't even bother enforcing many crimes because they either go un-prosecuted or receive such light punishment as to make it pointless to go to the trouble of arresting them, and the homeless and druggies flaunt that fact.

the difference in seattle/dallas is demographics. but don't worry, seattle is gaining

http://worldpopulationreview.com/us-cities/seattle-population/

Seattle's foreign-born population has increased 40% in ten years

While Seattle's percentage of white residents is lower than the United States as a whole and declining ....

There is also a large lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population in Seattle, which is one of the highest per capita in the country. 12.9% of Seattle citizens identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual, just behind San Francisco.

OK, I get it now.

So Seattle is safer for me than Dallas, but not for long. Seattle will catch up and will soon get it's own corrupt DA.

Well, let me tell you from first hand experience, WE ALREADY HAVE corrupt DAs.

But yeah, I get it. I must fear, fear more, fear immigrants, fear Muzzies, fear the left, fear the blacks, fear homeless people, especially the heavy druggy types.

Who else should I fear? Nobody mentioned the global bankers, nobody mentioned the Chinese PBOC, nobody mentioned CONgress or the well known traitors in DC.

I mean, while we're on this "you must fear" theme here at the forum, it's a good time to keep adding to the list isn't it?

What's next, fear my next door neighbor? You know, neighbors have been known to get into a spat and cause violence.

Can we add them to the list?

Fear this, Fear that,... immigrants, blacks, muzzies, latinos, druggies, the homeless, the lazy. Got it - I'm starting to memorize the list./....

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch....

I just sent off a check for nearly half of everything I earned this year. By my calculations, somebody is stealing two-thirds of everything I earn. By my examination, somebody is slowly taking away my life, liberty, freedom, prosperity and wealth... But no time for that "somebody" I'm too busy fearing the already named list.

I'm sooooooooooo scared of this DA now. I'm going out this afternoon and I'm going to tell every homeless person I meet - move to Dallas.

That's your take away from this? I don't fear homeless people either. The problem is treating the problem of homelessness in such a way that it enlarges the problem and allows more people to be able to remain homeless for longer. It's a disservice to people to treat it as a lifestyle choice.

It's like giving a drug addict free drugs and more comfort so that he doesn't hit rock bottom. Hitting rock bottom is the only true way out. Allowing people to camp on city streets and shoot up drugs anywhere and everywhere, doesn't help the problem It makes it worse.
....and that's the difference between how a shit hole like Seattle handles the problem and a shit hole like Dallas handles the problem. At one time there was one street downtown where the homeless had taken over. That's been fixed. A couple years ago there were tents and shit all over that street, but not now. There's nothing in Dallas that looks like the vids of Seattle (tents up and down city streets and piles of used needles in the gutters) and Dallas is a much bigger city than Seattle is. Seattle is a large town in comparison.

That would only break honest folks who had nothing to do with anything. A better solution is for everyone to stroll over to the DA's house, walk in and steal small items of his, and walk out. A few clothes out of his closet, some dishes, knick-knacks, small pieces of furniture, rugs, etc
Break into his car, steal electronics. remove one tire at a time from all cars ...be creative

The thread and this forum is all about fear.

Fear the blacks.

Fear the homeless problem.

Fear the evil Muzzies - or at least 5% of them.

Fear the left.

Fear communism.

Fear socialism.

Fear corporations.

Fear drugs.

Fear terrorists.

Fear rocket-man.

Fear some new group in a far away land.

Fear the DA in Dallas.

Fear Jim Beam.

Fear your neighbor.

Fear the truth.

This forum is about fear. So if that is the case, why can't we fear those who are stealing two-thirds of the entire nation's productivity and sending it off to kill people, destroy things and for military equipment given to our potential enemies?

I'm supposed to fear a list of things that hasn't ever done anything to me other than pick some of the fruit I eat or mow my lawn.

Yet, I'm not supposed to fear those taking away my liberty and freedoms and two-thirds of everything I make!

Got it. But JMHO, I think it's propaganda coming from the MSM and alternative medias. A Pure 100% distraction - so they can keep stealing more from me, everyday.

Give me back what they've stolen from me over the last many decades and I'll give every homeless person I meet $20. Matter of fact, give back to the workers what's been stolen from them and there won't be any homeless , most of them will be rich and the vets will get the care they deserve instead of them and their families thrown out onto the streets.

Yep, he seem to be the only one afraid LOL. The constant whining about this not being gim1 is also pretty entertaining.
I don't believe there's too many fearful members here, quite the opposite & none if you eliminate the few libtards.

Jimi vas SRV
This is just my opinion but when it comes to little wing and comparing the two of them there just is no comparison to be made. Both are solid 10's. Jim wrote it and SRV played and duplicated it like no other. Unless you go to a live version you could never tell who was playing on the radio. Love some of the live versions SRV put out there. Both were taken from us way to soon.

C'mon now, don't tell me you're gettin' all butt hurt over this, are ya? lol

The only issue I have is how it's being handled. Making it easy for people to stay homeless can not be the right answer. Did you watch the vids that have been posted? What about the parts saying they have to sweep the streets of needles every morning? They don't have to do that here. What about the parts showing lines of homeless camping along city streets in front of stores? How, in civil society can that be acceptable?

Yes, there's places virtually everywhere that one can find homeless people and/or encampments of them, but not lining city streets.

Edited to add: Also, hadn't seen any broke down RVs parked in the streets and being used as homes either. Anyone try that crap around here and they'll soon find their "home" down at the local impound yard racking up $150/day fees. lol
....but I'm sure that if the cities turned a blind eye to it, that they would soon start popping up everywhere.
