Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) sent two planes of undocumented migrants to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts on Wednesday, joining Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) in sending migrants to sanctuary cities, Fox News reports.

Why it matters: It's an escalation of Republican governors' stand-off with President Biden over his immigration and border policies — aimed at forcing Democratic states to grapple with social safety-net issues.

What they're saying: "States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as 'sanctuary states' and support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies," Taryn Fenske, DeSantis' communications director, told Fox News.
  • "n this past legislative session the Florida Legislature appropriated $12 million to implement a program to facilitate the transport of illegal immigrants from this state consistent with federal law," Fenske added.
[*]At the time, DeSantis' office said migrants could be sent to "'progressive' states whose governors endorse blatant violations of federal immigration law," and that Floridians shouldn't be held responsible for subsidizing migrants' costs of living.
What's happening: Terry MacCormack, a spokesperson for Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) said in an emailed statement that the governor's office was "in touch with local officials regarding the arrival of migrants in Martha’s Vineyard."
    • "At this time, short-term shelter services are being provided by local officials, and the Administration will continue to support those efforts," MacCormack added.
The big picture: Since April, Texas has bused over 7,600 migrants to D.C., which declared a public emergency last week.
Worth noting: DeSantis, who is running for re-election next year and is possibly eyeing a 2024 presidential bid, has sued the Biden administration over immigration enforcement.
    • Representatives for DeSantis' did not immediately return Axios' request for comment.

After the railroad situation gets resolved, that would probably the best way to move the hordes north.

This.
Or how about we raise a massive amount of income by heavily taxing heating fuels, but only in the northern states?

I think this is great. Ahole president burdening the border states and providing no relief under the guise of what a big heart he has.

Nope.

Needs coordination between rail companies, owners of passenger equipment (AMTRAK is the only operator, other than urban light rail operators, and urban light rail cannot be just dragged from city to city) The rail-hosting company (CSX is the only one that has continuous service, Florida to Mass) would have to okay the movement, provide crews, be paid or secure an account, and then allow it.

Not gonna happen. Buses would be the second-best way, except that you'd need to relay drivers. So, air travel is the best. All that's needed is an air charter company that can file a flight plan.

Wouldn't it be cheaper by plane as well? 300 on a plane vs 80?

I was just thinking the cheapest way.

That's with government owning the rail and facilitating it.

Here, we have Federalism. Separation of powers, both by function and by regional-versus-national.

Amtrak could ship them, except that Amtrak would save money by putting every would-be passenger on a United Airlines plane. But Amtrak, being an NGO, is Woke - ESG. They WANT Florida and Texas destroyed, for the love those people have for what was America.

So you have private ESG businesses - you better BELIEVE CSX is onboard with ESG. A hedge fund owns its largest bloc of shares. And Woke or not, CSX has to comply with FRA regs. That means, you can't just tie a locomotive to a bunch of surplus urban light-rail cars and drag them a thousand miles north.

Chartering a movement with Amtrak, that is, your private rail coach, is NOT cheap. It's a dollar a mile, to start - for one car. Much more if you had a whole train. And Amtrak, or just someone with cars, would have to get clearance from CSXT's movement office.

That would mean proof of liability, an account and a deposit...and your train would be at the bottom of traffic priority, since CSXT, NS, or any other freight company, doesn't WANT it.

OK, OK. How about boats? Aren’t there a lot of ships not being used?

Well...what do you suppose is the cost of chartering a ship?

Compared to a $200/head airline ticket? And compare that ticket price, to the cost of feeding and legally defending this hominid garbage. Any way you slice it, a seat on a UAL flight is a bargain.

Importing cheap labor because nobody wants to work anymore. Try hiring a sober, logical person to perform a task. You will pull your hair out.

Is it nobody wants to work anymore. Or is it nobody wants to work anymore for the wages I’m paying?

Or nobody wants to work For me anymore cause I’m constantly pulling my hair out?

Illegals should all be sent to sanctuary states and sanctuary cities.

Newsom said gov should be looking into kidnapping charges against DeSantis & Abbott.

No doubt they will. Dems are not like 'lock her up' Trump that didn't even investigate Hillary. Dems say...dems do.

Let's see...they're HERE because ILLEGALLY, the border's been erased.

But now they want to prosecute the two state governors most affected?

Calling this "Clown World" is an insult to clowns.

Stop food stamps and welfare for able body people and clear the streets of homeless and there would be workers. Poor Farms used to be common.

Naples, FL is over run with mexis. Can't go into a Racetrac without waiting in line behind a dozen.
