Diabetes is a Vascular Disease – More on Joseph R. Kraft, MD

Snip:

Some have asked why Kraft’s work has gone largely unrecognized and the sad truth is that “Big Pharma” never found a way to cash in (GLP1 analog class of drugs changes that picture today). Reaven also didn’t draw much attention from “Big Pharma” as he identified diet and carbohydrate restriction as the primary intervention. Kraft admits that he mostly avoided the dietary debate but he did tell us in Chicago that reducing carbohydrates in the diet certainly was important and that there was never any basis to recommend reducing saturated fat in the diet. It’s clear, however, based on insulin metabolism, that a low-carb high-fat (moderate protein) diet should be the default for those pre-diabetic or diabetic.

PCOS Solution: Early Detection of Insulin Resistance

Snip:

Do you wonder what is causing your PCOS? If you could just identify what is causing it, possibly you could remove the cause and this disease would go away. Or at least be much easier to manage.

For the majority of women with polycystic ovary syndrome, a primary cause of symptoms is the presence of a medical condition called "insulin resistance". Insulin resistance simply means your cells are "resistant" to or are under-responding to the hormone insulin. Therefore, insulin cannot efficiently tell the cells to store blood sugar or perform a multitude of other tasks. The result is that the entire body is thrown into a state of imbalance and distress, leading to weight gain, belly fat, ovulation problems, mood disorders, and skin and hair issues.

Guess im diabetic, had the big one May day 2005, 3 bypasses and a pacemaker/defibrillator, had the old one changed for the battery in 2012, wonder if it has any scrap value..
I've never had a heart attack, had my CABG X5 to prevent a HA... We both have atherosclerosis which puts us in a high risk category for developing diabetes as we age. The older we grow, the higher the risk, and it doesnt matter our diet or exercise. All that diet & exercise can do is aid in delaying the inevitable. My wifes great Uncle has type 2 diabetes that he controls with medication. He's 82 and still plays golf once or twice a week. So diabetes is prolly no big deal unless you go full retard and consume everything your not advised to consume.
