With all we went through for the last two years, it is hard to believe that we have yet to hear... "Don't drive for two weeks to slow the price increase".

Thanks a lot, you know they read GIM, right?

this shit show is becoming more predictable every passing day

every economic or political problem is now blamed generally on Russia and specifically on Bad Man Putin
With more shit added to the pile using the Bear as an excuse.

We must sacrifice our freedom of mobility to "flatten the curve."

If you don't it means you hate children and puppies and stuff....

.
Depends how they are prepped. Certainly wouldn't serve one with the other.

Hit $4 locally, today. Above, in some places.

Lowest I saw was $3.99. That's where I bought some for $3.74 on Monday.

Man, we're gonna have troubles this summer...

Brandon released 30m barrels of oil according to his state of the union address on March 1. That's a whopping 1.5 day supply. What a great comrade and leader he is, showing such compassion for the American people.

Meanwhile, oil went from ~$45 under Trump to ~$120 under Bidet. To be fair, oil and gas prices only rose ~50% under the bidet administration without the Ukraine issue. What a great leader Brandon is, as energy cost only rose ~50% in a mere 15 months of his dictatorship.

Meanwhile, pocahontas is on the oil companies again, claiming they are usurping unnecessary profits. https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-...Warren-Wants-Windfall-Tax-On-Oil-Profits.html

What a fecking mess. The communists are trying to save face knowing the 2022 elections will be a near clean sweep in favor of the republiturds. Recession here we come.

That's how markets work.

Merchants are always quick to pass on prices - because they have to; there is no point in running a business at a loss.

But when their wholesale suppliers CUT prices...they don't feel a pressing need to pass it on.

Not right away. In the case of gas retailers...one manager might figure he can increase volume at his station by dropping the price a penny. So another drops it two cents; and a third might go further. This takes days; and it stops when their retail price gets to where they make the minimum they can, to profit on gasoline sales.

It's human nature. No one likes to lose money. Everyone likes to see more money coming in, without extra effort. And then, someone sees a chance to pirate customers from the other.

That really didn't happen in 2008. They just stopped paying on their liar-loan subprime mortgages.

And we know how that wound up.

for sure and we have witnessed that model in action many years

for example , gas prices do fluctuate up and down

I’ve bought regular gas for .19 cents back in 1971 and I’ve seen it over $5.00 in California

markets at work indeed

Probably because that's not real? I just looked on gasbuddy.com and this is what current prices are in that city:

You'll have to stand guard over your fuel tank. There's more of them than you.

Just outside of town, at the Love's truck stop last night, gas was $4.39. Cheapest place in the whole county. It's sad when I get excited about $4.39 a gallon gas!

Stupid Clown World!

Went to town today, also. Two of the stations I passed, had their electronic displays, turned off.

A few stations rolled their prices back. One cent - from $4 to $3.99.
