South Africa started issuing silver krugerrands a year or so back but at a selling price of around $50 for a one oz silver coin, I thought I'd wait a while, maybe forever. But when I saw them for sale at closer to $17, I thought I'd get a couple just to add to the collection.

Turns out that they're pretty nice. Looks almost like a proof.

where u get them for 17?
Provident though it was $17 and change, don't remember exactly. Doesn't make much difference for 2 of them.

"How come they don't put a colored guy on the obverse?" How do you do black on a silver coin?

What is the background?
I was thinking the same thing — nice background. But then tom always has good composition.
Not to answer for tom, boy, but it looks like native copper that has the high points polished slightly.
Nice score, tom.

How do you put white on silver coins? Just like they put Obama on silver coins. Trump is orange and he's on silver coins.
