Pelosi is sending over the articles of impeachment without securing any of the concessions she demanded from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — concessions she insisted were a prerequisite for sending the articles.

But her delay in starting the impeachment process will have accomplished one thing: taking Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts off the presidential campaign trail right before the Feb. 3 Iowa caucuses.

Regardless of whether or not it was Pelosi’s intention, her otherwise-fruitless delay in sending the articles to the Senate will have sidelined the two most anti-establishment Democratic candidates at a crucial point in the primary.

Sanders is currently leading the field in both Iowa and New Hampshire, while Warren is hovering around the 15% threshold for receiving delegates in both states, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling averages.

Taking both senators off the campaign trail would give an advantage to former Vice President Joe Biden and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, both of whom are in contention to win Iowa and New Hampshire, and neither of whom are as far to the left as Sanders and Warren.

“Of course it matters,” Warren told Politico of being stuck in Washington, D.C., while other candidates are campaigning. “We just did a 3½-hour selfie line. Don’t tell me it doesn’t matter to do face to face.”

The Senate trial is estimated to last between two and six weeks. (Former President Bill Clinton’s Senate impeachment trial, for reference, lasted five weeks.)

Assuming the trial begins next week, even if the process lasts two weeks, that will keep Sanders and Warren largely contained to Washington, D.C., until days before the caucuses begin.

If the trial lasts three weeks or longer, Sanders and Warren are likely to still be in the nation’s capital on the day of the caucuses. A four-week trial would almost certainly cause the two senators to miss the New Hampshire primaries as well.

Democratic Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Michael Bennett of Colorado would also be stuck in Washington, but none of them are currently among the frontrunners.

...and I'd rather not be taxed(robbed) to death to have goobermint decide who to give it to at all. Amusing that people call this "free stuff":

No thanks. That "free stuff" is entirely too expensive.

They are when it comes to high taxes to pay for gov social programs.
...and asking for their crap to be done here is to ask for everyone's taxes to go way up. Including low income workers. In Sweden, everyone gets the shaft.
For ex, a person making the equivilant of about $40k/year in the US, they'll pay 60% of it in income taxes.

As was already stated, we don't want that.

WTF are these income taxes that you speak of. I cant remember the last time congress imposed a tax and apportioned that tax according to the census.
The 1040 is for non resident aliens working and living in the US. There is no other use. If your using a 1040 you are in fact , under penalty of perjury , claiming that you are a non resident alien.

The way I understand it, Form 1040 is for residents, 1040 NR is for Non-resident. 1040 EZ is for residents who are easy, and you may use Form 1040X if you should have filed Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ instead of Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ, or vice versa. 1040 SR is to be used by Seniors who are residents, and over the age of 62.

To amend Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ, or to file the correct return, do the following: ... Complete a new or corrected return (Form 1040, Form 1040NR, etc.)

For people who absolutely have no clue which 1040 Form to file, there's Form 1040 WTF.

That's the one I use!

You can't really compare the systems in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway with the US - there are more people in Texas than all of those countries. The size and scale of the US changes everything. The Federal Government would have to be so intrusive to operate like a Scandinavian country that they might as well put surveillance cameras in everybody's houses.

Scandinavians are not like Americans, with the exception of ME refugees and immigrants, the natives don't scam their system. People think a place like Denmark is ultra liberal, it's not, the government will come into your house and haul off your personal possessions for not paying your taxes, as well as throw you in jail.

They also tax everything, including groceries @25%. Minimum wage earners pay income tax. They are very expensive countries - cars are very expensive, gas is very expensive, a drivers license cost a couple of grand, and people that have cars usually have only one and it is small.

A middle class house on the outskirts of Copenhagen will cost you 600k, same house in San Antonio would be maybe 250k.

Healthcare and Education are paid for with high taxes.

If you have FB you can view that video. Don't know why Dave didn't upload to youtube but it is what it is..
Basically the video points out that for 100 years the treasury department has decision after decision saying that non resident aliens earning domestic income are to file a 1040. Never once in 100 years does it mention Americans earning a living.

Please don't purposely confuse others by conflating communism with socialism. National socialism like that in nordic countries is their way of life and was proven effective in their homogeneous societies. Once the borders were flung open to third world turds, the systems started falling apart. Communism is a godless, reckless, satanic, hate filled, anti-nationalistic insanity that seeks to enshrine an elite at the top and enslave everyone else as serfs. Socialism seeks to spread the wealth and do what's best for the people and the nation. Communism is about what's best for the elites.

And yes, the poster who stated that the communists have infiltrated our government in the form of liberals is 100% correct. These are godless, evil, insane monsters who want to enslave us, take our guns, remove God, and brainwash children, all why they enjoy the privileges of the elite. Demanding that we pay carbon taxes while they fly around in jets. Demanding we stop eating meat to save the earth while they dine of filet mignon. These people are evil monsters and yes they are communists who hate nationalism, God, the American people, and all that is decent and holy. National socialists they are NOT!!! They are COMMUNISTS!!!!

It's always sold as a "kinder" more "gentle" government, that promotes "equality" and "fairness", but the goal is simply to loot destroy those in the middle of the socio-economic ladder to enrich those at the top. Eventually all that would remain is the elite at the top and a huge mob of peasants bickering with one another for mere scraps from their masters' tables. ...and yeah that's where America is heading.

Are you willing to pay a 25% VAT on everything you consume, including groceries, along with an average 50% income tax? That's what it is in the Nordic countries.

When you add up all your fees, taxes, health insurance, cost of education, et cetera, then figure out what you get, who got the better deal?

It's great for young people, I'll grant that. I've mentioned it before, I have a daughter that lives in Denmark and she gets paid to go to school, not just that the education is paid for.

They got fees out the wazoo too. A lot of gov stuff has been privatized.

Also, one thing that helps Nordic countries as well as others in Europe be able to afford stuff like that is because we foot most of their bill for their national security.

We pay for our guys to be based there and pick up most of their nato bill and they build new airports, bullet trains, free healthcare etc etc for their people.

Now we can discuss the merits of us doing tjat, but that's a different discussion. You're sayong, look at at what they're doing and emulate them. First ya gotta find someone to pick up our defense bills to free up all that money to use to pay for socialism here.

Does it? I guess we'll see how that goes as the Nordic nations mentioned above become a whole lot less homogeneous. Despite the propaganda about how allegedly "ray-cis" Amerika is, it's one of the most diverse nations on Earth.

Just because a bunch of like minded Europeans in a tiny nation can all agree to take some mutual responsibility for their own well being, does not mean that a nation as HUGE and diverse as Amerika can have the same ridiculous tax and spend policies. ...I realize it's a huge problem for the unicorn fart pro-socialist model, but it's also reality.

Sweden is in no way similar to America in cultural diversity. Yeah...I know it's shocking.
