If you have anterior pelvic tilt. Just a fancy way of saying that the position of your pelvis has 'Tilded' more forward due to dominant hip flexors and weak glutes and hamstrings, which then other muscles try to take on the stability of the pelvis and other problems occur down the line.

This post discusses the nature of intelligence and the different aspects of neuroscience that help explain it.

One view of intelligence is that it should be considered in a modular fashion: in terms of different 'types' of intelligence for different skills. In other words, no one person is more or less intelligent, they are just more capable in a specific domain. Howard Gardner described a number of different 'types' of intelligence including: viso-spatial, logical, linguistic, interpersonal, intrapersonal etc.

While I'm not a big fan of this description, there is evidence for a modular nature of intelligence. The structure of the brain backs this concept up, as do studies looking at suppressing different areas etc.

That said, what also correlates with high intelligence is 'whole brain connectivity' and the sheer density of cortical grey matter. In this video, I attempt to resolve these different views and suggest that intelligence may in fact come down to plasticity + opportunity.

Hey dudes. So after a couple weeks of traveling, I had to adjust my workout routine since I didn't have access to equipment. The past few weeks I've been doing the 1000 rep challenge, which is 5 different calisthenic bodyweight exercises done for 200 reps each. I've listed 15 different exercises to you can mix and match, working your way up in difficulty, and trying to beat your previous times. How often can this be done? I was doing every other, or every 3 days, mixing in jogging, shadowboxing and yoga on the off days.

► The Secret Weapon in MMA: Why MUST Do this in a REAL FIGHT

One way to fight someone stronger or bigger than you may be to attack their knees with a stomp kick. Stomp kicks are effective in Self Defence as well as in mixed martial arts as well. You only have to look at any Jon Jones fight to see how effective his famous oblique (stomp) kick at his opponents knees.

Yet this is a key kicking attack in the Wing Chun, and often underestimated by many in the martial arts or self defence community. It is quite literally a knee destroyer if you can get the timing right. Better yet you can drop a bigger stronger attacker with some ease if you have the skill to focus your Wing Chun kicks on the knee joint.

In this video we look at the famous Wing Chun Cross Stamp (Knee Stomp), also referred to as the Jon Jones oblique Kick. In the first section of the video we’ll examine how to target the knee with the stomp kick and variations of the kick that could be practical for dropping your attacker or wearing their leg down.

Remember, in Wing Chun we kick towards the knees because the structure of the knee is weak at certain angles of the leg. Kicking the leg affects the persons balance and stops the punch, and may even drop the person in self defence.

The second half of the video looks at how you get the kick to work. The answer is simple simply lift your knee as well. As the Wing Chun Kick rises and stamps on the knee it will deliver more power to the blow. You must make sure that you striking with the heal of the foot. This Wing Chun technique can be used to attack the knee or the quad. Higher the leg you target the better the kick. Targeting is often against the knees because it is faster.
In future videos I will be discussing the psychological importance of mental fitness training for combat, self defence and MMA. The goal is to make you mentally tough, because Psychology wins fights. In the meantime train hard, be safe.
