Buying this little coin through apmex was how I found out about GIM.

The darn thing said goldismoney.info right on it, so how could I not come and check things out? Turned out to be the best investment I have ever made. Reading the wealth of wisdom and knowledge on GIM has taught me very valuable lessons and saved years of study.

(Thanks to all those involved in getting the Freedom and Bull rounds to market.) :coolbeer:
we need to update the dies with the new ADDR or do we still get a redirect to GIM2?

I didn't want to speak until I knew what I was talking about.
That certainly doesn't stop a few posters around here :p

Thanks for the list AuAgGal! I'm not exactly sure when I found GIM, but apparently I was online that night in June 2008 :D.

Those old guessing games were fun. Some GIMers were awesome in their guessing. The cordinator so talented. I think there is still one guessing game going currently that I know of, not sure if anyone still in the running but it is the Guess when Gold hits $1650.

I came to GIM oddly enough on the 4th of July last year.I now call it my liberation and independece day from fiat.I learned of GIM from another site I participate on called
www.steelsoldiers.com. Someone posted about GIM there and sharing that it's something worth checking out.I did, been here ever since.

I think my first post was about scoring 10oz of silver art bars for $80.man I was stoked!..Sheesh,what noob I was.Folks kindly responded to what I really purchased.Best $80 lesson I ever
paid for.

Thanks to all who make GIM possible.I'm grateful for what I have learned and what I'm continuing to learn.

In either version, I have found GIM to be the best place of the Internet for intelligent discussion, wealth of knowledge and tolerance for different POVs.

Re: GUMs Rich History

I invite anyone who thinks GIM is rough, uncouth or has gone downhill to survive just one day on the all female sheeple forum I post one.. GIM is a walk in the park, a day in the sunshine and a kind and gentle place. The Fems will eat you alive and then look for your offspring and devour them too.

I remember how hard is was for me to find out when registration was open on GIM and when I finally got logged on I was a very happy camper......

I will thank my interest in Politics and watching Ron Paul in the Republican debates that got me on the right track!

I found the GIM site when I decided to 'go physical' and needed some info on where to buy online, what to get, all the newbie stuff. I got some info, and next thing I know, it shuts down and reopens as GIM2. No problem. I have no wonder stories about the good ole days, but I do thank everyone here who has shared the wisdom they have acquired over the years, making my "initiation" less painful [mentally & financially] than it might have been. As the OP stated, we do have the 'ignore' button for those who may strike us the wrong way, I have only had to use it for one user. I hope I have made some positive contribution to the site, limited as it may be [meaning my knowledge]. All in all, this is the best forum I have found overall, and of course, for PMs in particular.

Thanks again to all of you out there who have contributed to the schooling of newbies like me.

I would purchase a new GIM round if the PTB decide to strike one, Ag or Au! [Seems odd the Gold Is Money round is silver!]Just make sure it is 1 OZT and I am there.

early Kitco ticker on GIM - ck out those prices

I sure wish I had been stacking Rhodium back then. Alas, it would be almost two more years before I would discover GIM, gold and silver, let alone the former $10G an ounce Rodium.

I came here for the education and got entertainment as an added bonus. A day is just not complete without stopping by GIM. I loved seeing the early stuff, wish I would have been around back then.

I found GIM2 by simply doing some research to see if I had done the right thing by purchasing some Silver bullion (generic one ounce rounds) a couple of years ago with a plan of buying a bit at a time over the next couple of years. This wasn't an investment plan but simply a way to diversify my wealth.

What I learned:

I didn't buy enough right away.
I needed to establish my position within months, not years.
Do Your Own Due Diligence

The rest has been a fun-filled ride with the lunatics while learning more about the PM market and recognizing the real gems hidden in the noise of hucksters and shills.

I came for the Metals. I stayed for the Crazies.

I think I joined GIM in the spring of 2004.

I thank Ponce Cuba for waking me up to the Protocols.
HT taught me about the inflation/deflation cycle and how the sheeple are fleeced both directions.
MadFranks became a good friend, and we actually had him and his family over for dinner once. He is an architect, and he did the blueprints for the house I'm building.
Ryedale inspired me to think big, so I started Pincher Processing and recycled over 100 tons of pennies per month until Ed Moy put the kabash on it in December of 2006.
fasTTcar hooked me up with a buyer for my coin sorters after we shut down.
I've visited Wallew a couple times, and I can promise you that he is the same in person as he is on GIM. His house is easy to find with all of the mil-surp vehicles parked next to it.
Goldhedge stopped by once to pick up some goods, and he was a true gentlemen.
Scorpio seems like a real PITA, so I'm careful what I say around him.

I've bought and sold bullion, sterling, and firearms with a lot of people on GIM -- always a smooth transaction. Twisted Avatar bought some bullion from me and actually paid more than I was asking. He sent a nice letter along with payment and taped 3 Mercury dimes to it asking me to promise I would hang on to them so I'd never been without real money. I still have the letter and the dimes.

When GIM 1.0 shut down I swore than I was done -- too many good people didn't make the move to GIM 2.0. I registered my handle to make sure someone didn't pose as me. Eventually I found my way back, and GIM is still one of my main sources of information. I swear that real news breaks on GIM hours/days before it hits the MSM. That is the real value of GIM to me. It has to be most eclectic group of over-informed people anywhere in the world!

GIM has given me a lot to think about in regards to survival and what that actually means. I've learned that no stockpile of "preps" can compare with have the ability to reliably produce the things that you need.

All in all, I've been-there, done-that, with precious metals investing. I cashed out in 2009 to buy my little homestead. Yes, I know it would have been better to sell later, but the time had come for us to make our move. Once I'm finished building I might redirect some finances toward gold (silver is a dog). It's just too pretty not to own some.

I found GIM in June '07 during a midlife crisis pitty party I was having (40 years old and ain't got a pot to piss in). I got some sage and very timely advice from Ag Nut about coin roll hunting, got to admit that really saved my a$$. Hate to think where I would be now if I hadn't done what I did back then. Onwards and upwards I say.

It's really hard to forecast something that trillions of dollars in derivatives really control and they are controlled by outside fed type forces.

When I was growing up my Grandmother used to put silver dimes in the toes of the socks she sent at Christmas. GIM is how I know why she did that.
Lesson finally learned :)
I've been banned and I've flounced, I've argued and I've laughed. Been bashed and bashed back. I'm very glad to have found this place.

K, I found this place on a search to...K, O'Bummer care...yeah I was on the hots to eradicate that louse from me bodie.

But, what I found was, and yes I think they kept slapping the fish is rotten from the head down in my face..but what I really found is what fiat is as apposed to what weight is.

Look this dam world can just go defunct and I am fine with that. I just wana know the why. And, yes we all go off on our tangents like dogs baying at zombies instead of game but really are they any different? NO really are dogs different as apposed to zombies?

all brevity aside ur'all gona have to find me and put up cuz I will not shut up till I die. *then ther is that ghost thing*
