back in the day when I was buying I was on my own.. No GIM, just Bob Chapman and Chris Walczak on goldseek radio every weekend. That's back when my family thought I was nuts because I was also prepping and buying guns too. I quickly learned to be quiet and just go about my business. My instincts were to buy a lot more Pms than I did but I compromised. I did the best I could with the opposition I had at the time. This time around Im going to do what I know needs to be done. BTW, no one thinks Mom is crazy anymore :)
It's been pretty clear to me for some time that you're a smart lady who thinks much more outside the box than the average person.

We all do what we can to follow our goals and maintain our wealth. Personally, it seems to me that you're doing a tremendous job

The best explanation I've heard lately is we are at the 'hold your butt cheeks stage'. I have no idea why i found that so funny. :)
Depending on your stock market picks, it might be the “spread your butt cheeks stage”...

don't give up on them. In the meantime just protect them the best you can. I really feel for you guys who have family that took the vaccine. Like we said maybe we are wrong.

good video and exactly why I decided to go the PM route. The good old days of thinking we were gonna get rich are long gone. I'm just trying to protect money and as he showed PM do have a good history of that. I like the guy in the video. He is easy to understand.

So if this goes through it means countries are getting their final ducks in a row for possible currency crashes around the world. Lets see if it happens.
If true it would be a very definite 'hurry the fuque up and buy' indicator for PMs

I have some questions. I am reading some delivery nightmare stories from some of the bullion companies not backing lost orders. Is it better to ship to a PO Box? SD Bullion seems to have a safe shipping policy.

If the package is properly insured by a carrier that accepts Gold, Silver, and other PMs for shipping it should not matter. I would venture a signature of acceptance helps in tracking. IDK.

oh boy am I out of my comfort zone...will read shipping terms carefully. I was reading Better Bureau Business and it looks like a few on the companies skimp on shipping. Some just leave packages on the doorstep.

I am not buying in massive quantity. Usually twenty rounds or coins at the most, packed in plastic tubes. A gold coin well packaged comes straight from the seller to my mailbox USPS. I have had no problems.

Just make sure you track the package very, very closely once it's shipped. Shipper insurance can lapse if something happens on route and you don't notify the shipping company asap... leaving you with an uncovered loss.

Who do you use
SD Bullion
Provident
APMEX (not so much these days as their prices suck)

I'm sure you can get more recommendations from others here

I stick with the major vendors for the most part. They all offer shipment tracking and have never caused me a problem with a single shipment over the past 5 years

Ive always been happy with sd bullion. Provident is reputable but shipping is not their forte. I once got 50 oz in a small flat rate priority box...kinda obvious. Sd was much better for the heavier stuff.

Pull the trigger ma'am. you wont regret it.

I pulled the trigger two weeks ago, and of course, the price went down almost immediately, but that is ok.

I had the budget and the inclination.

I will update you with the shipping experience upon arrival.

I decided to meet some of the local coin dealers the last two days. I found one who has been in business 26 years and had a good reputation. He will match or go slightly lower than the online dealers.

Its tough to beat a good local guy. Ive been a steady customer of one since he gave my son 2 1/2oz silver coins when he was 4. Told him to save it up it was real money. Guy matches any online price and is often lower than the big dealers anyway. He still gives my son 1/2oz culls every time we go in.

I dealt with the same dealer for many years. You develop a relationship and build trust if your a regular. Speaking of kids. I was going to take my granddaughter and buy her some silver. I’ll bet your son loves coins now kids remember that stuff

He has his own stack that he's built over the years. His grandparents have given him 'college' money each bday. When he turned 10 he asked me to diversify so he would actually have savings when it was time for college. :2 thumbs up:

funny you should mention that. My daughter wants to convert her daughters little college fund into gold. Its not that much money but I think its a grand idea.

So I bought some Pms today after meeting the Coin Dealer yesterday. He was a friend of my deceased coin dealer and his shop is 22 yrs old with a good reputation so I was comfortable. I forgot how entertaining a trip to the coin shop was. While I was waiting I got to listen to a young college kid try to out smart the coin dealer and get more for some junk silver than it was worth. The kid kept talking about what the internet said. Boy he was persistent. It was entertaining. Then two young teen girls came in with a fistful off 2 dollar bills and wanted to know what they worth. They were very disappointed at the answer. Then he got a call that someone was coming in to by 50k in gold maples tomorrow. never a dull moment over there.

Sales tax is why I wouldn’t buy from a local dealer.

surprising we don't have it here in NC since they hate anything that is remotely related to freedom. Is it worth your while to do a road to trip to another state close by?

Under absolutely no circumstances would i ever pay sales tax when buying metals, especially if they are us coinage, in fact theres laws against collecting that, as it is legally currency.
If your state tries to extort sales tax, you say fuck off and buy on ebay. Its usually cheaper, plus you can use a credit card, plus its shipped to your door for free.

I dealt with Bob for years. He is up in NJ but might be able to put you in touch with someone down here.

Sales tax depends on what State you buy from. Utah, no tax. Wyoming... not sure.

The good old days of thinking we were gonna get rich are long gone.
That was the myth we all bought into. Go to school, get a good job, settle down, raise a family.

Unfortunately, it took almost a whole lifetime to figure out we were wage slaves to the rigged system.
