I may have asked this...when doing a swap of this kind, say, at a LCS, is it a straight exchange...no fees? Just 85 pieces for 1?
Depends upon LCS... but they can not exchange for free.
I exchanged 100 oz bar for Constitutional silver mix, and asked to pay for premium/exchange in cash.
It was a small amount I can not recall.
Silver was in demand at shop in 100 oz sizes.
Ask as many as you have access to, remembering you would be trading wanted for less wanted by ratio standards.

*Note: I and dealer miscounted Constitutionals. Years later I counted bag full 5 TIMES and there was $20 face value to many in my bag.
Dealer was gone by then. Doubt he would have cared due to my business anyways.

With ratio being 85/1 Example of my thinking.

Proof Buffalo for SAE's 82 SAE's .g0v for .g0v considering the premiums on both

Proof Buffalo w/premium for Generic @ spot would be about 90 oz

Generic for generic, probably pretty close to even???

A trade Gold for Platinum might be interesting also.??

You guys should consider the possibility that your LCS will charge a vig to help with overhead.

I agree gold for platinum is an intriguing possibility at the moment. Better yet palladium for platinum.

I've never dealt with coin shops for trading, only private parties.

Not sure how many regular Joes you could find to take the side of gold on a gold for silver trade at current 85+:1 levels.

Yeah, could be tough, but stranger things have happened.
Made a trade not long ago when ratio was 82/1, traded 2 oz Phils for 160 SAE's. Worked out OK.

There's people who have cheap Ag stocked away & don't want to put out lot's of FRN's for Au.

I've found that taking premiums into account & adding/subtracting oz's works out.

Conditions still in place to make a run at 90?
Let us all strongly wish for a spike into the 90's.
Hell, I'd scream Ratio Trade for a day if we touched the triple 100-1.
Just imagine 100-1 six months or a year later at 60-1... 50-1....?
The yellow pile would breed.
At 90+ to 1 all the gold trinket 1- 5 gram bars, 1/25 - 1/4 oz bullion and coins would be traded.

It is different this time, debt is beyond the size of mental comprehension, for all.
My risk meter is above 5 in any lopsided trade/exchange involving metals or currency.
One bank, one bomb, one broker, and the expected, predicted, and proclaimed will be GONE.

Who knows?? Seems that with ups & downs in both Au & Ag the ratio stays the same or close to it lately.

JMHO-I still believe trading Ag for Au above 80 is good depending the coins/bullion involved & considering premium on both.

To be clear, I mean trading Au for Ag at 80/1 is good IMHO.

I think the fellas have their hands full here. Gold seems to really want to move up. When folks figure that out silver is going to wake up and that ratio will come down out of the stratosphere.

Yes, the palladium drop the past two days makes the 2013 gold Sunday massacre look sedate in comparison...

We are up over 86 now. Apparently the big boys have plenty of ammo left.

I really believe that, other than some vicious across the board deflationary spiral, silver has a heard stop at around $14 at this point. I think the only way we see 90:1 is if the price of gold moves up a bit before some last gasp silver smack down. $1350 gold and $15 silver might get it. 2c...
