Oh ok. Took it all down, huh? Maybe eBay reversed orders too. Some other seller was offering 1 oz bullion (ASE's I think) for $12 each. Probably same deal.

In other news, about a week ago I got a couple of lots of US 90% junk for 12-13x face. It was for real so a pretty nice score esp. since the going rate is 14x if not higher these days.

0% silver? I hope you can get it for under spot.
Can't figure out what the melt value is... not a having a good math day. :)

Elements of a good eBay listing:
- good pics (fail)
- clear title with important keywords (fail)
- To the point description of what is being sold and some other key things (fail)

I think it's a lame attempt to sell a commemorative 40% silver Quarter but who knows.

It was a dumb joke. $0 worth of silver, so under melt would mean they pay you to take it (if we forget about the other metals).

Found a private seller in my area who has a few ounces of silver he's selling for $3.00 over spot. Hopefully buying some later.

Maple Leaf & Britannia

Made contact last week, wonder of he'll honor the spot price for then? Probably not, but I wouldn't hold that against him.

A fella in my area has 1/10th ounce Pandas he is selling for $215.00. $205.00 if you will buy three or more. Beats the mark-ups at any online place I have seen.

Looks good! I imagine that it's widely known that these get faked all too often so be sure to check with as many devices/tools as possible.

I picked up 3 proof 1-oz ASE's for $30 each at a LCS earlier today (spot silver was $~$26.60/oz). A great snag to me imo.

Update (Friday, August 21, 2020): I sold 2 of the 3 proof silver eagle coins on ebay. I sold one of the 1986 date coins and the 1987 date coin. A healthy and decent net profit after paying ebay/paypal fees and shipping imo.

Traded some Au for Ag at my LCS today & this vintage 100 oz bar was in the lot that I got.
It took me quite awhile to find out anything on it. At allengelhard.com I discovered that the mintage was less than 100.

Anybody have an idea about the value of this bar?

As far as i am concerned, this 1878-CC Morgan that i purchased earlier today for $40 from the LCS is a great snag. A "scruffy" coin no doubt but Morgan CC silver dollars are expensive (to me anyway) at higher grades.

Update (Friday, September 4, 2020): I sold the last of the 3 proof eagles that i bought for $30. I sold that last one for just under $50. Overall a good buy/sell transaction on all 3 coins.

Crack it out of that case and enjoy it.
Nah. I will keep it in the case. I have several that are raw that i will enjoy when i put those in a Whitman book.

I went to a local flea market yesterday and saw an 1893 Morgan silver dollar (raw coin but looks about AG-3 grade) for $80 but i did not buy it because i was not sure about the value of it and i did not have my Morgan red book with me.

Yeah VH, but you'd have to get a real Engelhard collector to achieve a goodly price (two to three times spot). BUT — it's a 100 oz bar, which are always a hard sell for much profit. And it doesn't say Englehard it anywhere so it might be a tough sell to a LCS (unless they KNEW what it was) or sell for much above spot.

Prolly, if yer patient enough, you could realize a handsome profit on it.

Thanks BF for your helpful post.
Instead of keeping this one in the long term stash, I've been thinking that maybe I should throw it on the bay to see what develops.
If somethin happens to me our kids wouldn't have any clue that this one may have special value.
